Nancy Kerrigan Writes On Why She Was Nervous For DWTS Last Night And More

Nancy Kerrigan has written about this week’s dance with Artem Chigvintsev. She talks of how she missed some steps in dress rehearsals and being nervous, but, their dance came together for the Live show. From Team USA including information on their next dance….

After hair and makeup and a couple of run-throughs, it was time for dress rehearsal. Finally, we were dancing later in the show which most people think is good but I wasn’t so sure.

There is something to be said for being warmed up and going right out to perform. Waiting around can be complicated. You cool off, have to occupy yourself.

And that is exactly what happened in dress rehearsal. I missed a couple of steps and as a result, was pretty nervous before the show.

But then in the show it all came together and we had an exciting performance which was a thrill. The judges’ comments were amazing and getting the first 9 from Len was very cool.

So this week was very satisfying and allows me to move on to Week 4 where we will dance the foxtrot.

Lots more on the week at Team USA.

PureDWTS Season 24, Week 3 – Power Rankings

So Vegas week – I was predicting a “Cirque Du Soleil Week” redux, so my expectations were pretty low.  I think that may have helped, because while I wasn’t blown away on the whole by the dances we saw last night, I also didn’t end up really hating any of them, either. Thank goodness for small miracles 🙂

Now that we’re three weeks in, I think the narrative for the season is taking shape – and I don’t think it’s necessarily what TPTB had intended/hoped for. I think the main problem they’re having is that the viewers as a whole seem to be eschewing the female ringers (particularly Ringy McRingerson herself, Heather) in favor of the ridiculously charming male contestants with no dance experience but a ton of heart (read: David & Rashad). Additionally, with Maks’ injury, Peta looking like a sleep-deprived zombie, and Val being jet-lagged, I think the original intent to make Maks, Peta, & Val the focal points of this season is kinda falling apart – and it seems like the better story might be a finale with the other engaged couple that hasn’t gotten a whole lotta respect until this season (Sasha & Emma), and an extremely talented pro that has made it to at least the semi-finals the last three seasons (Lindsay). Now because it still is very early, and I only trust TPTB as far as I can throw them (and I have little to no upper body strength), I wouldn’t put it past them to try and shock some life back into their original plan to prop up the C-bros plus Peta – but I’m beginning to wonder if they’re starting to see the writing on the wall as far as the viewers are concerned…that maybe the audience cares less about another MBT in the Dance with Me trophy case, and more about a likeable, entertaining celeb winning.

Other thoughts? The opening number was cute, but perhaps a tad sloppy; loved the showgirl costumes (even though the last traditional Vegas showgirl act took a final bow in February of last year – RIP, Jubilee!), but what were supposed to be bachelorette costumes looked more like prostitute costumes to me 😛 Julianne & Derek, as always, were a revelation – that dance felt like the sequel to the “Elastic Heart” routine, and I found myself really appreciating the elite quality of movement and artistry they both have.  Kinda makes the regular routines we saw last night pale in comparison, but still worthwhile 🙂 Carrie Ann idiotically decided to resurrect the lift police, calling out everyone EXCEPT HEATHER. Coincidence? Doubt it. Charo getting eliminated? Slightly shocking, because I felt like they kinda padded her score last week while T got kinda hosed; but given the whole drama with her allegedly threatening to quit last week, and some of the backlash I saw on social media from her behavior, I guess it’s not a complete shock. Was she eliminated or did she leave on her own accord? You decide. Just kinda sucks that her best dance (and the strongest piece of choreo we’ve seen from Keo since Jodie’s season) came during the week she was eliminated. But I gotta give him major props for dealing with a pretty unruly partner – he’s definitely come a long way since his first season as a pro. Read more..

PureDWTS Season 24 Week 3 Media, Interviews, Recaps, And Scores After The Dances

What a show stopper night on Dancing With The Stars last night. I ended up really liking “Vegas Night”. I especially loved Derek and Julianne Hough’s “Unsteady” performance too. The art and the story telling was off the hook.

So, let’s review last night’s scores again…

Normani Kordei and Valentin Chmerkovskiy: Scores of 8-8-9-9 from the judges for a total of 34.
Heather Morris and Alan Bersten: Scores of 9-8-8-8 from the judges for a total of 33.
Nancy Kerrigan and Artem Chigvintsev: Scores of 8-9-8-8 from the judges for a total of 33.
Simone Biles and Sasha Farber: Scores of 7-8-9-8 from the judges for a total of 32.
David Ross and Lindsay Arnold: Scores of 8-7-8-8 from the judges for a total of 31.
Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater: Scores of 7-7-7-7 from the judges for a total of 28.
Nick Viall and Peta Murgatroyd: Scores of 7-6-7-6 from the judges for a total of 26.
Erika Jayne and Gleb Savchenko: Scores of 6-7-7-6 from the judges for a total of 26.
Mr. T and Kym Herjavec: Scores of 6-6-6-6 from the judges for a total of 24.
Bonner Bolton and Sharna Burgess: Scores of 6-6-6-6 from the judges for a total of 24.
Charo and Keo Motsepe: Scores of 6-6-6-6 from the judges for a total of 24.

ET and People have interviews with some of the couples after the show and their reactions. And here is more….

From FOX11:

Former Chicago Cubs player David Ross continued to impress, bringing the house down with a “Magic Mike” themed number that had him stripping down to his red skivvies—and a tee shirt with perfect drawn-on abs.

The athlete, who scored 31 with partner Lindsay Arnold, told FOX411 that his wife Hyla approved the risqué dance because “I do that goofy stuff at home. Get out of the shower and I’m all messing with her ’cause I’ve got that goofy side of me but to do that in front of millions of people and in this environment was a little scary for me. I told her, ‘Daddy’s coming home with some new moves!’ ”

Football player Rashad Jennings received 28 points from the judges for his samba that wasn’t quite up to his usual standard with partner Emma Slater.

“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Erika Jayne received 26 for a jive, with Judge Julianne Hough sighing, “You were a little wobbly on your feet.”

Tying with Jayne with 26 points was “The Bachelor” star Nick Viall, who tango-ed with Peta Murgatroyd to Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face.”

After the show, Viall told FOX411, “I feel great about tonight….I was more in the moment than in the first two weeks.”
