I think they are so cute together and they both are cracking me up. Go Team Butterballs!! Side note: I think Mark has the best last name for making team names with. Everything is about “balls” – which is pretty much the way it should be. 😉

Paula Deen wrote her first blog for Dancing With The Stars at her official site. She’s nervous about dancing, but, she’s “having a ball” (just what the show is all about!). Here is more…

Y’all have probably heard by now that I’m going to be on season 21 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, and let me tell you—I’m excited and nervous. There’s just a whole array of emotions that could overwhelm a person. After all, I’m 68 and startin’ on this physically demanding show.

It’s a little nerve-wracking, but already I’m havin’ a ball. I can’t tell ya the relief I felt when I saw Louis at my door. He was exactly who I was hopin’ for. You know, I’m crazy about Louis. I like his eyes. He has kind eyes. But I may find out that he’s really hard on me as we progress through the season!

I think I may be most excited about doing a waltz with Louis because it’s such a graceful dance. It appears to be about the connection between two partners, which I think is really beautiful.

PureDWTS Season 21 Late-Breaking Casting Rumors: Paula Deen & Chaka Khan???

In what is quickly becoming one of those days where the leaks and info and breaking fast & loose, E! News is reporting that controversial former Food Network chef Paula Deen and R&B legend Chaka Khan are part of this season’s cast.  See more below and at the link:

Controversial celebrity chef Paula Deen is joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars, multiple sources exclusively tell E! News.

Our sources also exclusively tell us that Grammy-winning music icon Chaka Khan, aka the Queen of Funk, will also be competing in season 21 when it premieres on Sept. 14.  ABC does not comment on casting rumors.

As with many other celebs, this isn’t the first time Paula has been asked – she apparently first got asked back in 2010, but turned them down as “fat girls don’t look good sweating”. Our own records have her popping up as a rumor in multiple seasons. Say what you will about Paula, but I love her – she reminds me of my dearly departed southern Grammy, and while her food will land you in an early grave if you eat it all the time…man, is it good. 🙂

As for Chaka – I’m gonna call her “Keo bait” cause she seems like exactly the type of celeb they dream of sticking him with.

DWTS Season 17 Rumor: Paula Deen Approached To Do Dancing With The Stars?

I can’t get the video to play at VH1, but, they are reporting that Paula Deen has been approached by Dancing With The Stars to dance. As you might know, the celebrity cook has been in the news lately from some racism allegations which she says are untrue. Below is a quote from VH1. Note that Paula was also rumored to dance in Dancing With The Stars Season 14.

Looks like Paula Deen is serving one dish that The Gossip Table doesn’t want to eat. And anyone else for that matter. Rob Shuter reports that the former Food Network star has been dropped Walmart and several other sponsors. However, she may seek redemption through reality TV. Rumor has it that she’s been approached to be on Dancing With The Stars.

If true, what do you think? Would you want Paula to dance…and especially with all the controversy surrounding her right now?? I’m not sure? I think she should take care of her legal issues first atleast.

Rumor Will Paula Deen Dance On Dancing With The Stars Season 14?

So, who knows how true this rumor is, but, Hollywood Life has an “inside source” that says the producers of Dancing With The Stars have asked professional chef Paula Deen to dance. Interesting note: Paula was recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. You can read more below and at the link on Paula.

An insider at the hit ABC show tells HollywoodLife.com producers are seriously considering the 64-year-old cook and host for season 14.

“‘DWTS’ suits love good stories,” our source says. “It’s good timing. Paula just confirmed she has diabetes and this could help her a lot.”

As far as Paula’s age, the higher ups aren’t concerned. ”Producers love Paula’s likability and think it would guarantee she’d be around for a couple weeks, regardless,” the insider explains.

What’s more, Louis Van Amstel must have heard this news. Last night, he told Showbiz Tonight he wants to dance with Paula. Below is a take from USA Today…

Last night on HLN’s Showbiz Tonight, Dancing With the Stars pro Louis Van Amstel said, “I have a good idea, activity is the best thing. If Paula Deen goes on Dancing with the Stars, I would love to have her as my partner and she is going to become an inspiration! How about it?!”

So, what do you think if this rumor comes true? I think she looks fun and it would be cool to hear her being an advocate of Diabetes on the show! I wish more people would speak up on Diabetes! I can also see her dancing with Louis too…or Tony?

Heidi’s Note: Once again I feel compelled to point out the track record of certain websites last season – up and down. Geez –  we like hits too, but you don’t see us jumping on every single person in the news and say “insiders tell us that….”.  Seriously, this is starting to look like sites grasping onto every single person to make the news – Tim Tebow, Paula…the list is getting very long. I’m tempted to go back to our posts before the last two seasons and examine just how true alot of this stuff turned out to be.  Hey…that’s an idea!!

OF COURSE, Louis is all for it since he would love to be back on the show. That’s a no brainer and really lends no credence or weight to the story at all.

Maybe Paula will dance, maybe she won’t….but I bet the “wish list” the producers have is ten miles long and half of  Hollywood is on it.  I would like something solid that doesn’t just scream convenience.
