So sorry that this has been much delayed this week – I’m still trying to catch up from my whirlwind trip to New York City. If anyone cares, I saw Book of Mormon, New York Spring Spectacular (twice) and Wicked. All were tremendous. As I was telling someone on Twitter, Derek actually sings as much as he dances in this show and that was a real treat. Great voice on that boy. My favorite line from the very sacrilegious Book of Mormon?? “Jesus thinks you’re a dick.” OMG, I laughed and laughed and laughed. Read more..
Here we go again!!
In order to avoid being scooped, we giving you everything we have at once. Bah humbug!! Yeah, that’s right. I wrote this BEFORE ABC.com decided to spoil our fun yet again. What, we’re going to have to spoil the show on Monday nights now?? Bastards.
Who’s idea was the cute play on song title for Rumer?? I imagine hers, since I like it. Also LOVE Willow’s song.
ETA: Check this tweet from Tommy B:
On tonight's @DancingABC, in one of our tightest viewer vote tallies, a couple goes home. Less than 1/10 of 1 percent separates our bottom 2

T-minus 18 minutes to the new season of DWTS. And at this moment there is so much to look forward to!! Let’s go!!
Opening was kinda cool. Weird note – they did the intros about four minutes before the show actually started. I don’t know if that’s their tape delay this season or if they just taped them to play after their Opening credits. No idea.
Damn, I looked away for a second and missed Willow. Saw that bit they did at the opening. Cool if everyone gets something like that.
Robert started out a bit stiff, but loosened up quickly. I like him – he’s cute.
Riker did a great Jive except he was holding his hands funny. Great job. He’s a contender if his little fans vote.
OMG, CAI is bring back her stupid “freeegin” whatever the hell. :::eye roll:::
Charlotte’s Jive was limp like Courtney heard, but I like the girl. She’s cute. But that outfit – she want’s to be more than her chest and Keo puts her in that? Dude.
Dang, I missed most of Patti due to multi-tasking. The judges sure loved her though – were they blowing smoke??
Holy crap….Chris was actually pretty damn good. Thing is, he isn’t AFRAID to go for it!! Shut up, Julianne – I think he might have been better than Robert. We’ll see though if he can keep it up in week 2.
I thought Michael did good! Not as good as some of the other men, but good. This is going to be a tough season if everyone holds up in week 2.
Really, CAI?? I thought lifts were something that a woman couldn’t do on her own. Pretty sure Nastia CAN do that on her own. Duh. Anyway, I kinda agree with Len, it was a little staccato, but the song kinda called for it. I loved it.
Ah, Redfoo, you’re going to have to do better than that, dude. I love Emma and I enjoyed it, but he’s got a ways to go.
Noah is interesting to watch. He’s not blessed with the same fluidity Amy had, but he’s a guy. And he dances like a guy who’s never danced. Inspirational though, and interesting to watch. And hot.
And next we get to see if they are still pimping Val for a win. Seeing a bit of whining on Twitter about Derek getting Nastia, but let’s get real. Val has yet to have a partner who actually sucked. And they were all ringers except rumor and his first. But I don’t want to hear any whining about Derek’s partners now, looking at what Val has had.
Suzanne does look good. And she danced pretty damn well.
Good foxtrot from Rumer (and I like her) but it didn’t have the entertainment value of Derek and Nastia. And commence the over the top drooling from CAI. Man, when the judges try that hard it just turns me off. So both Len and Julianne call them out as the ones to win. Yeah, not at all surprised.
OH MY GOD. Val, never speak again and let your partner do all the talking. She is so much more humble and well spoken than you are. Over scored – she was not two points ahead of Nastia, but really are we surprised by any of this by now. Gotta get Val that shiny ball.
I can’t believe it’s that time once again. Time for figuring out who’s dancing what and being totally frustrated when they refuse to tell us WHEN.
A few tidbits which, if you’ve been reading the comments on other posts, you may have already seen: Nastia and Rumer are looking really good. Noah was having some prosthetic problems – he had to have his leg re-programmed.
I’m off to NYC to see my boy Derek in “New York Spring Spectacular” so Vogue and Court will be updating this post as needed. Here’s something to get the weekend started.
ETA: A new song update and it’s a goodie. Look below! ~ Vogue

Miss Heidi and Vogue here: We’ve known for a while, really. And we’ve had sources – and other media outlets, including US Magazine which made an assumption and stated it as fact that Chris was the final DWTS contestant and met with producers. Then yesterday, Chris confirmed he was doing Dancing With The Stars on Direct From Hollywood. Chris also just confirmed this news on Good Morning America this morning.
Our source has had other things to say about Chris, as you can read in the comments on another post. If you thought he had little to no rhythm on The Bachelor, you were right.
Stay tuned! We’ll post some video from Good Morning America as soon as we can. Chris is also going to be on Kelly and Michael today.
ETA: ABC posted an announcement as well as Chris And Whitney Carson’s Promo Shoot pic. See the story and photo here!!
ETA2: Here is some GMA video thanks to @idolxfactor1…
ETA3: Thanks to People, below is Chris and Witney’s first meeting… Read more..
This is a really good, lengthy interview! What I find most interesting is Derek, though. He’s so…loose and relaxed and happy and kinda flirty. Very attractive. And his trainer is doing amazing work. If this is what a show like New York Spring Spectacular does for him, then I hope he does one ever year!! I also really like Nastia – she seems pretty level headed. Great interview!!
Well, here we are! Another Cast Announcement Live Blog!! The show is starting shortly and then they will drag their feet for approximately an hour and 20 minutes. Go below the table for further commentary. Also, if you want to refer back to Courtney’s rumor round up, just click the link.
The Celeb Dancers and their Partners
|1.||Rumer Willis||Val C.|
ETA: Seriously….a 14 year old?? Not cool, TPTB, not cool.
ETA2: Special guest is Alfonso…with his MBT. With a gold MBT, actually, in honor of the anniversary season.
ETA3: Hmmm….only 10?
ETA4: Stupid Derek. Very stupid.
ETA: According to Courtney on Twitter, the following are troupe members…
Remember a ways back when I posted a random hint about Shane Harper doing DWTS?? Well, here’s another one…whatcha think??
I do believe the answer to that one is YES. Rumer Willis, welcome to DWTS!! In this exclusive, Val and Rumer are seen practicing – Rumer is in her capezios and everything. Click the link to see the Photos!
Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ eldest daughter sure is brave.
On Saturday Rumer Willis was seen practicing her dance moves with Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s brother Valetin while at Millennium Dance Complex in Studio City.
That can only mean that the 26-year-old House Bunny star is preparing to become a contestant on ABC’s hit reality series Dancing With The Stars, MailOnline can reveal exclusively.
ETA: So, Val gets another young, fit partner – but is she a ringer?? Going by Maks’ fans past characterizations of Derek’s partners, yes she is – she went to performing arts school, after all. That was all it took for Derek’s partners. But since we try to be more rational here at PureDWTS, I’m not so sure. I don’t think she’s a ringer. But I also don’t see Val as having much of a challenge – and still plenty of room for a showmance.
ETA2: Uhhhh…yeah. Maybe not a true ringer, but certainly no slouch.
ETA3: Vogue here. US Weekly is now confirming Rumer Willis is dancing on Dancing With The Stars Season 20.
