Thanks to Miss Heidi, below is an international version of a new ET interview with Derek Hough And Bethany Mota. You can watch them in rehearsals (hot!! and I love Bethany’s shoes! ). Also, you can see Derek acting “behind the scenes” of “Nashville”. Too fun. You can see more goodies with Derek and Bethany at Pure Derek Hough as well as reading his new blog from TV Guide. Miss Heidi has some other fun things she’s working on for us too. Stay tuned.
More with Bruno Tonioli!! Parade interviewed him about Dancing With The Stars. He talks of why Len Goodman needs some time off this season. He also chats about Julianne Hough and keeping the show fresh. More below. Don’t miss reading the full interview at Parade.
How do you think she’ll mesh with the rest of the judges?
“She’s not a beginner in that respect as well. And I think in general, not just with Julianne, you have to be yourself. You have to express yourself and your own feelings. You can’t really worry too much about what the others are going to say. You have to stick with your thoughts and express your thoughts and your feelings in a way that I think connects with the public. My definition of it is that I don’t see myself as there to make an ultimate decision. I feel you have to engage with the public. I don’t consider myself as this totalitarian ruler, I think what you have to do is engage the public into a kind of conversation. We have our opinion and I’m not saying I’m right, but that’s what I feel, and you want to connect with an audience so they feel they can have a conversation with you and I think she can do that very well.”
What are some other changes fans can look forward to this season?
“I think another thing with DWTS is that it’s a constantly evolving show. I think, having been there from the beginning, there’s no drastic changes, but there will be these little things that will keep it fresh and evolving. The dancing is getting better, the production is getting better. I almost say it’s like a love affair, to keep a lover interested you can’t change too much, but you have to always surprise them [laughs]. And that’s really the key to keeping the show fresh and exciting. Our fans are so lovely and so loyal and we’ve never taken them for granted. We’re not just showing up and doing more of the same, we try to keep it real.”
Two more days and counting!
Cheryl Burke interviewed Tom Bergeron about American’s Funniest Home Videos and Dancing With The Stars. This is a much watch! Great interview! I’ve always loved their chemistry together.
Good Day All! For some starter news today, what is former Dancing With The Stars contestant Brant Daugherty doing at rehearsals? Apparently, he stopped by to wish Janel Parrish some good luck on the show. You can see some fun pics of them at the link. It’s good to see him again.
Speaking of Janel, she tells Us Weekly that when “she’s not worrying about keeping her jive choreography straight, she’s daydreaming about the outfits she’ll get to wear in the ballroom.” Below is more including some thoughts from Val.
“I cannot stress enough how excited I am for the outfits. I am the biggest girly girl and love shiny, fringy things. Bring it, I’m ready!”
A quick learner thanks to childhood dance training in ballet, jazz and hip-hop, Parrish has already impressed Chmerkovskiy with her dedication to DWTS.
“People have really high expectations for Janel, obviously, so I want to exceed those. She’s got a great attitude,” the pro tells Us. “To listen to the sound of my voice for four hours every day is tough — I commend her on being patient with me. We practice about four to five hours a day. She is still alive!”
Stay tuned. More coming up!
Apparently, Carrie Ann Inaba, Gleb Savchenko, and Karina Smirnoff are currently in downtown Los Angeles shooting something for Dancing With The Stars. They just posted the instagrams below. Could there be others in the shoot too?
Also, heads up Gleb fans! According to a few fans at twitter, last night he tweeted he was dancing in the opening number on Monday (HERE is a pic of his tweet thanks to @DWTSGossip). Interesting and I so hope this is true!!
Michael Waltrip and Emma Slater have been travelling much of the week, but, they a took time for some Dancing With The Stars interviews. Below they talk about their expectations going into the show. They also talk about the competition. Also, check how they are seeking advise from Amy Purdy (let’s hope she sees this video and takes part. That would be so fun). So cute and funny as always.
Allison Holker and Jonathan Bennett answered some questions from fans at Just Jared Jr.. They are goofy, but, one thing Allison promises is that Jonathan’s hips aren’t going to lie.
