Copy and pasted from Pure Derek Hough:
In the last twitter round-up at Pure Derek Hough, we posted some videos of Derek playing the conga drums at Witney Carson’s birthday party. Below you can watch him DANCING! You can also see Mark Ballas and Val Chmerkovskiy at one point. You can also see Janel Parrish dancing with Henry Byalikov in the background (hmmmm, interesting). Many thanks to HeyJoHeyyo for sending!

ABCMedaNet has issued show details for Dancing With The Stars Season 19 Week 7. They announced the teams for the team Dances. Also, Ella Henderson and Nikki Yanofsky are performing.
“Episode 1907” – “Dancing with the Stars” treats viewers to a thrilling ‘spooktacular’ night filled with scary and chilling performances on MONDAY, OCTOBER 27 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET). The eight remaining couples will perform an individual Halloween-themed routine in addition to a competitive team dance. For the team dances, the cast has been divided into two frightening teams: #TeamCreepDuSoleil and #TeamItsyBitsy. These two teams will compete against each other, vying for a perfectly wicked score from the judges. Additionally, breakout artist Ella Henderson will perform her hit single “Ghost,” and Nikki Yanofsky will perform “Necessary Evil.” At the end of the night, one couple will face elimination.

ETA: Also, E Online is reporting that Erin Andrews, Len Goodman, and Karina Smirnoff are returning to the show next week….
E! News has exclusively learned that co-host Erin Andrews will be returning to her duties after taking a break to cover the World Series for Fox, and fan favorite professional dancer Karina Smirnoff will also be back in the ballroom after an injury sidelined her for two weeks.
Also back in action? Head judge Len Goodman, who took a break from the judges’ table for a few weeks, with special guests Pitbull, Jessie J and Kevin Hart filling in for him.
Did you happen to see Amy Purdy and Meryl Davis on Live Access Monday night? If not, you can watch them below. I thought some of their advice for the contestants was fun. “Be in the moment” was one of them!
Today, Tom Bergeron was a guest on Good Morning America. He announced ABC’s campaign to raise money for Toys for Tots. He also reveals secrets on Dancing With The Stars. He’s so funny…
Stay tuned to the spot below. More with Tom coming later. Also, be sure to catch The View tomorrow (Thursday) as he will guest on that show too and most likely we won’t be able to get video.
Ready for another Afterbuzz TV Show? Though first, if you haven’t ranked the couples this week, be sure you do so in Courtney’s new Power Rankings Post. Ok…now onto the new Afterbuzz TV show. This time Sharna Burgess joins the panel in discussing week 6 of Dancing With The Stars. She talks of what it was like working with Pitbull for the opening number (which as you know I love loved!). She also helps to review each dance and tells us some fun “behind the scenes” goodies. Sharna also explains at the end what it was like to be chosen as the 13th pro and how easily anyone can be replaced (that would have been so hard to go through). Let us know what you think as always.
Carrie Ann Inaba has posted a new blog for Parade. She writes of how cool it was to see some redemption dances. I thought this passage was interesting too on how she can understand why Pitbull said Val and Janel’s dance lacked passion. This makes sense. Let us know what you think….
The other surprise of the night was that Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy were in jeopardy. Seeing them in the bottom two was disturbing to say the least. Janel is one of the frontrunners, and I would be devastated if she went home at this point in the competition. She’s such a force of nature. Her versatility is incredible and to be envied. She is a multifaceted performer and she excites me with her well-nuanced performances. Guest judge PitBull made an interesting observation last night when he said he didn’t feel the passion. I find Janel to be an incredibly passionate performer. But this morning I can see what he was talking about. There was a disconnect between her passion for the movements and her connection to Val. She was too concentrated on the choreography, and she wasn’t able to connect as easily to Val or to the music. This is what I believe he was speaking to. This is actually a great note for Janel. She is a dynamic performer with layers and layers of abilities and emotional nuances to pull from in her performances. Let’s hope she doesn’t go home. Please America don’t let us have another Sabrina Bryan moment!

I apologize for this being so ungodly late, but between all of the media and other posts we had going up earlier, a sh*tastic day at work, and some of you just generally driving me to drink, I decided that these rankings could wait a bit. Side note: if you wanna talk about the team dances next week, go here; if you so desire to vote for the dance styles and songs that the couples are dancing in week 7 (I think), this post has directions. I’m pretty partial to the idea of Tommy doing a Viennese waltz to “I’d Rather Go Blind”, but to each his own
After two hours of Pitbull the peanut-butter eating, Spanglish-speaking naked mole rat judging, I still have no idea was “DALE!!!” means. Oh well – I guess when it all came down to it, he was a halfway decent judge; he saw right through the showmance front that Vajanel put up, and actually knew the names of a few salsa steps to compliment Alfonso on. Doesn’t mean I ever want to see him as a judge again, though But hey, Mr. Worldwide needed a plug for his gig hosting the American Music Awards, so I guess that’s why we got him this week…
…the judging seemed kinder this week, so I wonder if there was a huge backlash from some of the out-and-out cruelty we saw last week and the judges were told to ease up a bit. Still think Alfonso & Sadie (and now Bethany) are getting nitpicked, while Janel, Antonio, & Tommy are getting babied a bit; Lea and Mike are a toss-up each week. Will be interesting to see if the dynamic of the judging panel changes at all with Len back – wonder if we’ll start to see more complaints about “messin’ about”, and Julianne will suddenly become the “nice judge” now that Len the critic is back.
Jonathan, Jonathan, Jonathan – kinda stinks that he didn’t last longer, but if he had to get eliminated, at least he went out on a high note. His jazz was probably his (and Allison’s) best dance yet. Not sure Allison made a strong enough showing to warrant getting asked back as a pro again next season, but we shall see…
1.) Alfonso & Witney – Perhaps not the most “strictly salsa” salsa we’ve ever seen on the show, but I can’t blame Witney for sneaking in some hip-hop to play to Alfonso’s strengths. Thought he could have used a bit more hip action, but then I have to wonder if Witney tried to keep the steps a bit tight & boxy in order to baby his groin injury. Still a very enjoyable routine – there was some complex stuff in there, and Alfonso managed to stay on-time and in-step with Witney. He’s still the showman of this season, for sure – and with the way the crowd goes crazy after his dances, I think he’s gonna be around till the end. Read more..
