DWTS15 Troupe Update: Dancing In India and Australia, Black Tie Affairs, And More

So, it’s official. Dancing pros Henry Byalikov, Sasha Farber, Sharna Burgess and Emma Slater will all be returning for the new All Star Season of Dancing With The Stars according to their twitter and Facebook accounts. Oksana Dmytrenko hasn’t confirmed, but, I think she’s returning as well being nothing has been said otherwise (let us know if you know more?). Sadly, Kiki Nyemchek will not be returning. It’s going to be interesting to see who fills his spot. Any ideas or wishes? I’d like to suggest Jonathan Platero! More on that in a sec.

In other updates on the Troupe currently. Henry just got back from Australia. He helped with the new season of “Dance Academy ABC” due to air in the middle of 2013. Things are really starting to happen for this fan loving Troupe member. It’s going to be a big year for him. Don’t forget how he helped and is starring in one of the most anticipated movies of 2012 to be released soon “The Great Gatsby”.

Oksana has had a busy summer doing several black tie events. Below she danced a rumba with “So You Think You Can Dance” pro Jonathan Platero to Beyonce’s Sweet Dreams at a recent event. Incredible. Can you see why I think he might be a good replacement for Kiki?

You can also watch Oksana dance at a recent showing with Derek Hough at Pure Derek Hough. They are way steamy and so powerful.

And then there is Sasha Farber and girlfriend, Emma Slater. These past weeks, the two have been lighting up India in their version of Dancing With The Stars. According to Sasha, the episode with them airs this weekend. Check out this cool coverage of them. It’s fun to see Dancing With The Stars catching on in so many countries and how it’s different for the way they compete too.

And, last but, not least, we can’t forget about Sharna Burgess. You can see all of our recent updates with her here. She recaps her summer with us at this link. What a star as recently she also helped kids on skid row have a fun day and get them ready to go back to school. Stay tuned! According to twitter, Sharna will be filming her first commercial. I’ll be curious to see what this is all about.

Booked my first commercial! Yay thank you @ xxx

I'm a fashion and music nut....and I have always loved dancing too of any kind. Dancing With The Stars seems to have this way of bringing all of those things together. Derek Hough (one of my favorite dancers) said at a recent Get Healthy event that ‘dancing’ is an outward expression of what is going on inside you. He says that in some ways, everyone dances and it's so true. To TPTB, how about Sam Palladio's "Fade Into You" (this version sung by WilUnleashed) for a V. Waltz?

Jonathan Roberts Choreographing for So You Think You Can Dance – TONIGHT!

Better late than never! Set your DVR now for 8 PM EST tonight - yet another DWTS pro is choreographing for SYTYCD this week:

Very excited to be choreographing again on SYTYCD tomorrow. Tune in, it's going to be a great show, so many amazing dances this week!
@JonatRoberts
jonathan roberts

I’m assuming Jonathan choreographed a ballroom routine, given that he specializes in the ballroom dances; looks like we might also catch a glimpse of our favorite Russian redhead in the audience ;-)

At SYTYCD Dress rehearsal. @ choreographed a dance for 1 of the contestants. Please watch and support today :) <3

Other DWTS connections in this week’s episode? Both Ryan DiLello & Anya Garnis of the Vegas show troupe are dancing as all-stars this week:

I'm so excited to dance as an All-Star tomorrow on @ I love my dance & especially my PARTNER!! :-) Tune in 8/7c #sytycd

Amazing day of rehearsals for #SYTYCD.So excited to be back as an All-Star this week!!! So much talent in one room...WOW!!!
@AnyaGarnisLA
Anya Garnis

Be sure to check out the Dmitry Chaplin-choreographed cha-cha that Anya did with contestant Cole last week, if you haven’t already ;-) I just have one question: when are we going to get to see a FEMALE DWTS pro’s choreography (Karina, Anna, Kym, etc.) on SYTYCD? You listening, Nigel? ;-)

UPDATE: Video of the quickstep routine Jonathan choreographed for Eliana & Ryan:

DWTS Sharna Burgess Attends 25th Anniversary Of Lionsgate’s “Dirty Dancing” (Photos)

So sweet! Doesn’t Sharna Burgess look fantastic? Last night, she represented Dancing With The Stars in fine form at the 25th Anniversary Of Lionsgate’s “Dirty Dancing” at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California. Lots more fun photos of Sharna at Zimbio Pictures. You can also view some great takes of Jennifer Grey at the screening here.

Dmitry Chaplin Choreographing for So You Think You Can Dance

Dmitry fans, set your DVR’s! Looks like Dmitry is one of the choreographers on this week’s episode of So You Think You Can Dance:

Don't miss out the episode of SYTYCD next cause i am choreographing again! :) oh & yes I think my account got hacked so delete weird posts!
@dmitry_ch
Dmitry Chaplin

Dmitry is the 2nd DWTS pro to choreograph on this season of SYTYCD – Louis choreographed a samba back in week 1. Also appearing on this coming week’s episode of SYTYCD? Anya Garnis of the Vegas troupe, who will be dancing with one of the contestants as an all-star – maybe in Dmitry’s piece?

“@: @ Happy that it's FRIDAY! :D #TGIF Are you going to be on #sytycd next week? :D” yes indeed :)
@AnyaGarnisLA
Anya Garnis

Also semi-interesting to note: despite what Heidi & I have pointed out to be a strong anti-ballroom bias on SYTYCD, the two female ballroom contestants this season, Lindsey & Witney, are still in the competition – and I think they’re actually the two strongest female dancers with the best chance of winning this season.  Both apparently have attended Chelsie’s studio in Salt Lake City, and have also worked with Mark.  Hmmm…anyone else think we might see them as troupe members or pros on a future season of DWTS? :-)

Special thanks to @DMITRYDREAMTEAM for the heads up about Dmitry :-) Be sure to check out our sister site, Pure SYTYCD, for more news & updates on the current season of So You Think You Can Dance 8-)

UPDATE: Check out the cha-cha Dmitry choreographed for contestant Cole & all-star Anya below 8-)

ETA #2: Check out a cute interview with Dmitry after the show, where he talks about what it was like working with Cole & Anya and whether or not he agrees with what the judges had to say about Cole’s performance.  Thanks to reader Maria for the heads-up! :-D

Sharna Burgess Recaps Her Summer, Shares Thoughts On New DWTS All Star Cast

This is fun!! As promised, Dancing With Stars Sharna Burgess has written to us all about her summer and what a busy and fun summer at that from her working in London, taking a little vacation time, and returning back to the States to work on So You Think You Can Dance and judging the Hip Hop International tournament. She’s excited about the new All Star season of Dancing With The Stars and has some fun thoughts to share with us on that as well. THANKS SHARNA!!! You rock! We can’t wait for you to be back on the show too and do “your thing”!!!!! Without further ado, more below from the beautiful and talented Sharna (including pics)….

Pure DWTS “Summer Recap”
by Sharna Burgess

My thoughts on the new cast:

Wow what an exciting diverse bunch! I was surprised they bought back so many mirror ball winners, but at the same time each of them are great competitive energies to throw into the mix. I think it will be very interesting to watch these guys the second time around – the defending champions should be just as nervous as the rest! I know the runner-ups like Kirstie Alley, are definitely looking to take that mirror ball home. Even the old favorites coming back are in it to win it! Everyone is coming in on an even playing field, they now all have dance experience and know what to expect. It’s not about getting to know them anymore, it’s about what they can do! It definitely won’t be any easier the second time round, as the bar has been raised and we expect to see some fantastic dancing this season!

My summer has been crazy! Between flying straight to London after DWTS, judging Hip Hop International, the USA championships held in Vegas, and working on SYTYCD… I have been a busy girl! Read more..

DWTS Henry Byalikov Explains Role In The Great Gatsby, Working On New Musical Lead, & More

As you might have read in a previous posting, Dancing With The Stars troupe member, Henry Byalikov has a dancing role in one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2012, “The Great Gatsby“. Henry also taught the leads Leonardo Di Caprio, Tobey Maguire, and Carey Mulligan how to dance for the movie. Below is a new interview he did for it on The Morning Show. They also go through his whole career so far full of major accomplishments. Check out how he’s been working on the new lead for “Strictly Ballroom: The Musical” as well. FASCINATING! A MUST SEE! And let’s hope he gets the new lead!! He’d be perfect!!

“The Great Gatsby” has a December 25th release date. I plan to see this, do you? I was a big fan of the first movie with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. Below you can view the trailer. Thanks to @Elara38 for the help with this post!!

This past weekend, Dancing With The Stars pro and Troupe member, Sharna Burgess attended the premiere of “Overcomed, Overjoyed” which features former lead dancer for Madonna, Carlton Wilborn (Madonna’s Blond Ambition Tour and The Girlie Show Tour). Sharna also posed with three girls from the cast: Na’Kia Bell-Smith (Grey’s Anatomy), Audrianna Bartholemew (Chorister for the LA Children’s Chorus Concert), and Michaela Reed (Boys & Girls Club Idol Winner). She also posed with producer/director of the play Charlia Boyer. Stay tuned. Sharna is going to give us an update on her summer and her thoughts on the new all star cast of Dancing With The Stars. In the meantime, enjoy these fun pics. Being I’m a huge Madonna fan, I’m enjoying seeing Carlton again. You also might remember him in Madonna’s iconic “Vogue” video. Yay! Beautiful Sharna! :)

Dancing With The Stars Chelsie Hightower Celebrates Her Birthday At Villa del Palmar Cancun

How would you like to celebrate your birthday on the beaches in Mexico? That’s just what Dancing With The Stars pro Chelsie Hightower did this past weekend at the Villa del Palmar Cancun. She and her friends enjoyed their stay at the resort with spa massages, paddle boarding, kayaking, and playing at the pool’s water cannons. The group dined at the resort’s Davino restaurant where the executive chef presented her with a birthday cake as you can see pictured above by Mauricio Clayton. Happy Birthday Chelsie!!

DWTS Pros Mark Ballas And Cheryl Burke Dance For 2012 She Expo Chattanooga Convention

There is never no rest for the weary. As soon as Mark Ballas was finished with his gig in Utah, he was off with Cheryl Burke to dance at a She Expo Chattanooga, TN Convention. The two Dancing With The Stars pros took part in a question and answer session with the audience too which you read all about at Times Free Press. They talked of how the other pros are “family” to them and how they can be “dysfunctional” as well at times. They discussed their favorite partners and their most challenging partners on Dancing With The Stars and more. Great interview. You can also see them dancing in a video here.
