Julianne Hough Attends Nine Zero One Salon Melrose Place Launch Party, Mark Ballas Wants The Part Of Danny Zuko in Grease LIVE
Dancing With The Stars Julianne Hough attended the Nine Zero One Salon Melrose Place Launch Party on January 17, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. Below are some photos from Getty Images. For more, see this link.
Also, did you see how Mark Ballas wants the lead of Danny Zuko in Grease Live? What do you think: yes or no? When Lori first brought his tweet to my attention, I wasn’t sure, but, he can sing and dance. I think he’s a better choice than the choices at E Online.
“Dancing Pros Live” continues to draw audiences. KITV from Souix City, Iowa has a report and some video coverage of the show.
Desmoines Register has a beautiful Gallery of photos. You can see Edyta Sliwinska, Chelsie Hightower and some of the dancers from the show. Below are some instagrams and a video from Edyta and Karina Smirnoff. Beautiful! I’ll be seeing the show and reporting on it this upcoming week. Stay tuned! If you haven’t got tickets yet in a city near you, see this link.
Wow. You go girl. Good thing I wasn’t hoping for a part for Derek in this thing or that would be TWICE you crushed my dreams (see: Footloose). From Hollywood Reporter:
The network has tapped Footloose star Julianne Hough and High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens to co-star in its musical installment of Grease. In a bid to defeat the increasingly powerful DVR, the three-hour production from executive producer Marc Platt will air live at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016.
“Grease is one of the movies that made me want to be an entertainer, and I have literally been waiting my whole life to play Sandy,” said Hough, a two-time Dancing with the Stars champion whose resume is lined with film, TV and music credits. “My siblings and I watched it and played it out over and over when we were kids. This is my dream role and performing it live on television will be one of the most thrilling opportunities I’ve had in my career so far.”
Along with the Dancing With The Stars Tour, Ballroom With A Twist, and Dancing Pros Live, Holland America’s Dancing With The Stars At Sea Cruise is now taking place as well. I think they will be wrapping up the trip soon and maybe we’ll get more photos. For now, see Holland America Line’s Facebook page for some photos of the champions. One of the pics includes Sharna Burgess. Also, below is a collection of instagram and twitter pics that caught our eye courtesy of Sharna Burgess, Henry Byalikov, Holland America, and producer Richard Curwen. What a fun and beautiful trip they are having.
ETA: A few more new photos from the cruise have been added courtesy of Richard Curwen and Sharna Burgess…

FIGURE SKATING IN HARLEM CELEBRATES 18 YEARS OF
EMPOWERING NYC GIRLS BY HONORING GLORIA STEINEM AT
10TH ANNUAL SKATING WITH THE STARS GALA
ON MONDAY APRIL 13, 2015
Event to feature performances by Dancing with the Stars’ Mirror Ball Champions
Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
(New York, NY) December, 2014 — Figure Skating in Harlem (FSH) will honor women’s rights champion Gloria Steinem, Olympic Gold Medalist Evan Lysacek, and Feld Entertainment’s Nicole, Alana, and Juliette Feld at its 10th Annual Skating with the Stars Gala. The benefit event will move from the ice to the dance floor this year and be held at 583 Park Avenue on Monday, April 13, 2015, at 6:00pm. The evening will celebrate Figure Skating in Harlem’s one-of-a-kind education, health, and fitness programs for underserved girls while offering guests the rare opportunity to dance and mingle with some of the country’s great Olympic figure skaters including Sasha Cohen, Gracie Gold, Scott Hamilton, Michelle Kwan, and Kristi Yamaguchi. As a special treat, guests will enjoy performances by Dancing with the Stars’ Mirror Ball Champions Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Andy Cohen, Jessye Norman, Alicia Quarles, and Tamara Tunie (FSH Chair Emerita) will serve as this year’s Honorary Chairs; Celia Chou, Tracie and Scott Hamilton, Ellen Lowey, Tina and Terry Lundgren, Diana Taylor, and Vera Wang are among the Event Chairs.
“This unique evening brings together New Yorkers who believe in the importance of empowering girls to become strong leaders through a combination of sports, arts, and education. Honoring a trailblazer like Gloria Steinem is a perfect fit. She is known for her work with prominent African-American women who together knocked down barriers and opened doors for generations of girls like ours to reach their full potential,” said Sharon Cohen, Founder of Figure Skating in Harlem and a 2014 CNN Hero.
Now in its 18th year, Figure Skating in Harlem remains the first and only organization in the country that combines the power of education with the grace and discipline of figure skating to transform the lives of underserved girls. Through its unique programming, FSH provides NYC girls with innovative skating and education programs that promote academic success, physical health, and emotional well-being. Recent graduates of the program have gone on to Brown University, Howard University, Boston College, and others. The proceeds from this year’s gala will help launch a new STEM program and implement a plan for expansion beyond New York. FSH envisions taking its model program national by its 20th anniversary.
Sponsors of the Skating with the Stars Gala include Amway, Estee Lauder, Macy’s and Bloomingdales, and Consolidated Edison, among others. Tickets to the gala, which include cocktails, dinner, and dancing, start at $1,250. Sponsorship packages start at $5,000. All tickets are available online at www.figureskatinginharlem.org or by calling (646) 679-3765.
