DWTS Tristan MacManus And Anna Trebunskaya Bring “Magic” To Winnipeg, Canada In Ballroom With A Twist – Review
What a wonderful ‘Ballroom With A Twist’ review from the Winnipeg Press. They wrote that Tristan MacManus And Anna Trebunskaya bring “magic” to Winnipeg, Canada. Below is more on the show. Also Producer Scott Stander tells us, “The crowds have been loving the show and the amazing dancers that make this show’s heart …beat!!”
After a subdued orchestral introduction, the corps of five males came onstage to slink their way through The Look of Love. In fact, these testosterone-fuelled dancers were one of the show’s highlights (no bias here), as they performed the Bob Fosse-inspired choreography with swaggering ease.
Then Trebunskaya and MacManus took the stage for two dances: Gershwin’s I Got Rhythm — a stylized mosh pit of waltz, quickstep and Charleston — that earned the evening’s first loud cheers. This, in turn, morphed into Singin’ in the Rain that also provided one of the show’s true-blue ballroom dances.
The two then ostensibly became hosts, with the Irish-born MacManus introducing the famously red-haired Trebunskaya as “Little Red Riding Hood.”
Despite their, at times, awkward stage banter, they were nevertheless able to whip the already rowdy, younger crowd of 1,691 into a frenzy, cheekily promising “the hotter you get, the less clothes we wear.” The Russian-born Trebunskaya also showed her renowned, adorable wit during a Q & A session, with one audience member even shouting out a marriage proposal to the lithe artist.
The high-octane show is mostly well-paced, with ballads such as Smith’s blistering interpretation of Michael Bublé hit Feeling Good showing off his powerhouse vocals. Glocksen-Ruzicka also treated us to a soulful Gravity that also allowed the dancers to catch their breath — or change into their next, eye-popping, sequin-encrusted costume.

Sharna Burgess has written a last blog for Dancing With The Stars Season 20. She and Noah may not have won the Mirror Ball, but, she feels they won in another way. Sharna also thanks fans for their support. Below is more from Closer Weekly.
We may not have received the Mirror Ball Trophy, but Noah and I won this competition in so many other ways! He inspired me every minute of our journey together, and I’m so thankful he trusted me to tell his inspiring story through dance.
It takes an extremely brave individual to overcome what Noah has gone through. Noah gave me his all on the dance floor each and every week, and I could not be more proud of him. He pushed me creatively and it has been incredible to choreograph his routines. Noah is and will always be my hero.
Thank you to our Team Shway fans for your support throughout this DWTS season! We are beyond grateful for your part in our journey and adore each and every one of you! I hope to see you at my newest venture, Dance Fuzion, a three-day weekend dance convention that gives people from all experience levels the opportunity to learn from choreographers and celebrity dancers from around the world. Much love!
Awww, I love her so much and what an unforgettable pairing not only for their inspiration, but, for their amazing lines and lifts. To read Sharna’s last blog of the season in full, see Closer Weekly.
Allison Holker thanks fans, the producers, the judges, etc for an amazing season of Dancing With The Stars at Life And Style Magazine. She also thanks Riker and how this season was a “dream come true”.
This season was a dream come true! Dancing with [celebrity partner] Riker Lynch was something unforgettable. He had a spark; the talent and determination to make it to the end. He came out every week with confidence and showed America a new side of him.
We had some stand-out moments that I will never forget, from our first jive to our sexy salsa and our Pirates of the Caribbean-themed paso doble!
Riker is a force to be reckoned with and his career is only just beginning. I am blessed to have gotten to know him, but I am also excited to see what his future has in store for him.
I feel honored to be a part of a show that continues to get better with every season. This was Dancing with the Stars’ 10th anniversary; 20 seasons in and the show continues to inspire.
I don’t think I’ll ever forget their Pirates Of The Caribbean dance for as long as I live. More at Life And Style Magazine including her thoughts for how she hopes to be back next season for Dancing With The Stars. Also note (according to their Finals interviews)that Riker and Allison are doing something together again, but, they haven’t announced what yet?
Val Chmerkovskiy Coming Back For Dancing With The Stars Season 21, Rumer Willis To Tour, And More – New Interviews
Just a few new interviews with Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy. First, check out TV Guide as they talk about winning Dancing With The Stars. Though were they “pretty much the front runners” all season? I guess it depends on how you look at it. Nastia and Derek were the front runners all season in my opinion. Anyway, I was surprised to see how Val gave Riker and Nastia some props. Though not sure this would have happened during the season?
Val, you and Rumer were pretty much the frontrunners all season. Was that a double-edged sword in a sense?
Chmerkovskiy: Yes and no. Even though we were frontrunners, I didn’t feel like it was necessarily because of the fact that it was coming so easy to [Rumer]. I think, if anything, when it comes to logistics of the competition and the skill set that you need to have a successful dancer, I would say Riker [Lynch] or someone like Nastia [Liukin] had way more elements in their repertoire coming into the show that would make them a frontrunner in that sense. … I feel like she was a frontrunner in the way she was able to connect to the audience. And that, I actually felt, was a strength that kind of put me at ease a lot of times. … It did add pressure, but it added a beautiful pressure of trying to exceed those expectations, and motivation. But the fact that she was able to connect to our audience so well eased that pressure, because I knew that no matter what she would do, she would do it wholeheartedly and she would do it passionately and with her entire spirit, and people were going to love it regardless.
Also, note that Val says he will be back next season for Dancing With The Stars. Rumer will not only be in “Sway” (as we learned on Wednesday), but, she might be making a few appearances in the new Dancing With The Stars tour.
What’s next for both of you? Val, are you coming back next season?
Chmerkovskiy: Yeah, for sure. Just don’t tell Rumer I said this, but I’m very excited to be back next season and hopefully do it again. Before that, I’m going on Dancing with the Stars tour this summer.
Willis: I’ll be there for a few days too.
Chmerkovskiy: Yeah, Rumer’s going to come on for a couple of shows. It’s a 40-city tour. I believe we have close to 60 shows for the next two months. It starts June 3 in Atlantic City and goes until August 10.
Willis: I’m going to obviously keep dancing a little bit, but also I’m going to try and work on music a little bit more. I’d love to be able to possibly do some Broadway in the future.
Below is also an interview with The Chew…
