You can read all about Mark Ballas’ new contest for his new “Incredible” single at this You Tube link and why he’s doing it. Very cool and what a great song again too. I love it!!
Below is a new interview with Maks Chmerkovksiy and WFAA in Dallas, Texas. As you know, he, Karina Smirnoff, Cheryl Burke, and Tony Dovolani are dancing in Ballroom With A Twist this weekend. He talks all about it and how he hopes to thank fans at the show. They also ask him if he is returning to Dancing With The Stars, but, he’s not sure. Lot’s more below…
We probably shouldn’t get too excited. But Shania Twain did a Facebook chat earlier this week and a fan asked if she would ever do Dancing With the Stars.
Her answer: “I’d consider it!”
So, ABC, there you go. Give the country star a call!
Plus, a source tells HollywoodLife.com that the chances of Shania joining the cast are pretty strong.
“Those at DWTS are very confident that Shania Twain will join the show in its next season,” a source reveals to us EXCLUSIVELY. “She is very, very, very close to signing on the show.”
Also, below are some other rumors from Hollywood Life. A few of them we’ve before. I say, bring them on too. What do you think?
Rumors are swirling that Ashley Gold, L.A. Galaxy star Landon Donovan and goalkeeper Tim Howard might join Season 19 of DWTS as well — this could be one incredible season!
Thanks to Vin for the Hollywood Life link!
Wow, isn’t this a stunning shot of Karina Smirnoff? The Dancing With The Stars pro attended the premiere of ‘Planes: Fire & Rescue’ at the El Capitan Theatre on July 15, 2014 in Hollywood, California. To view more pics, see Getty Images. Beautiful and thanks to Jim for the heads up.
You can also see her at 9th Annual All-Star Celebrity Kickoff Party Pre ESPY’s in this video….
Also, Cheryl Burke attended some ESPY events. Doesn’t she looking stunning below? More pictures at Getty Images.
And here is Cheryl with Access Hollywood yesterday as well. She talks about bullies, her body image, and a little on Dancing With The Stars….
I love Jessica, but she’s all about the ship at times. Dancing? Not so much. Anyway, she interviews Rob and the other producers at TCA last night and then hit the jackpot when Tom Bergeron showed up to give his thoughts. We can always count on The Berge. From Glamour.com:
Glamour: Where are you in terms of casting for the new season?
Joe Sungkur: At the moment, we’re in our early days, but there’s a lot of people we’re talking to…
Ashley Edens-Shaffer: But obviously we can’t say!
Glamour: When will the new cast be announced?
Ashley: That hasn’t been announced.
Glamour: I know, that’s why I’m asking. [Laughs]
Ashley: We’re not allowed to say yet.
[Ed. Note: Because DWTS premieres a week earlier than usual this year, expect a cast announcement sometime in mid-late August.]
Glamour: Which of the cast members from last season most surprised you?
Joe: That’s an obvious one: Amy Purdy.
Ashley: Yes, Amy Purdy.
Rob: Amy Purdy.
Glamour: In the finale last season, Len Goodman hinted that he may not be returning, but then when I saw him backstage, he said, “Oh, no, I’ll be back!” So, will Len be back, as well as Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli?
Rob: Absolutely. We want all of the judges back.
Glamour: But it’s not a done deal at the moment?
Rob: We’re talking at the moment because we’re in the off-season, but I’m very confident that they’ll be back. As well as the host! Oh hi, Tom Bergeron!
Tom Bergeron: What a surprise!
Glamour: You’ve gone on the record saying that you thought Maks and Meryl had more of a brother/sister relationship. Fans do not like to hear that!
Tom: I’ve been ridiculed on social media for it! I’ve seen some great tweets saying, “That’s not like any family reunion I’ve been to!” But I never saw it as a romantic affection. I saw it as a very real affection, and I thought it brought out a side of Maks that I had seen backstage, but he had never allowed himself to be vulnerable on the air before. I thought that was charming, and it couldn’t have ended better. On a year when you watched a woman who had no legs absolutely mesmerize you, and Derek working with her—he’s like our Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire—but when you have that, and then Maks and Meryl… Wow.
And that’s not all. According to an ABC Press release, Cheryl was partly right when she said that DWTS might go back to 2 nights. Apparently there will be two special results shows (not counting the two night finale, I’m guessing). I tend to assume that perhaps they don’t have other programming on those nights OR these two nights are a “test” to see if they like the numbers or not. :::shrug::: If it means we get more pro dances – preferably, choreographed by Derek and one of his SYTYCD buddies – I don’t care too much about the reasoning…
…unless they do something REALLY stupid, like a big, double elimination or some such thing. I guess we’ll have a better idea when we see how big the cast is.
In addition, there will be two special nights of “Dancing with the Stars Results Show” this season, airing on Tuesday, September 16 and Tuesday, September 23, from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET.
Monday, September 15
Stay tuned for more later. Maybe.
ETA: Regarding Spring and fall seasons, from Glamour, via DWTSGossip:
*Paul Lee said that Dancing With the Stars will continue with spring and fall installments. There had been rumors that it would be cut to once a year, but Lee said that “the plan is for two installments a year.” Lee also mentioned that he’s very happy with the pairing of Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews.
ETA2: And regarding Erin…from ABC News Radio:
Finally, Andrews wanted to be clear to DWTS fans that she still plans to co-host the show.
“I am going to have time for Dancing with the Stars. That was all part of our negotiations with them. In February when they came to us, I kind of hinted when I took the job, I was going to be on the Michael Strahan program, now more so than ever,” she said. “He works crazy hours on Sunday, I’ll be doing the same thing. I’m literally going to be going from the football field to the ballroom just like ‘Stra,’ he goes from the studio in New York to his show with Kelly Ripa.”
And look who’s playing reporter!!
— George Pennacchio (@ABC7George) July 15, 2014
Awww, isn’t this some fun news?!! Below is Cheryl Burke on Extra today with Mario Lopez. She talks of how Dancing With The Stars may go back to two nights for Season 19…but, only for a few weeks. There is also a possibility of having a 4th judge. Cheryl also address the recent headlines saying she’s lost too much weight and how she’s had plastic surgery (Cheryl don’t listen to the rumor mongers. You look fantastic!). More below…..
Dancing With The Stars co-host Erin Andrews will be replacing Pam Oliver as the NFL sideline reporter for Fox’s No. 1 team according to Variety. What an interesting turn of events.
Erin Andrews will be replacing Pam Oliver as the NFL sideline reporter for Fox’s No. 1 team.
For her 20th season as a sideline reporter for Fox, Oliver will be part of the No. 2 team. After this season, she will discontinue reporting on the sidelines to work on other pieces and productions for Fox Sports as part of a multi-year contract, as well as continue her role on Showtime’s “60 Minutes Sports.”
Oliver told Sports Illustrated that the news was “a little shocking,” expressing her love for the job and her reluctance to change. However, she also stated that Andrews, a younger reporter, would be more ideal for the target demographic.
You can read the full article at Variety.
I’m kind of hoping this means Erin is leaving Dancing With The Stars. I want Brooke back.
If you go to Red Carpet Crash, you can listen to Karina Smirnoff chatting about Dancing With The Stars and her past partners. She also mentions how none of the dancers know who is coming back for the new season of Dancing With The Stars as first producers have to get the celebrities and then pair them up with the best partner, but, she and everyone is hoping to come back. Lots more at the link including her plans next to dance in Ballroom With A Twist. Great interview! For tickets to see Ballroom With A Twist in Dallas and other cities this summer, see this link.
