So, the Maks and Val “Our Way” Tour premiered their first show in Melbourne, Florida last night. One of our readers named Matt said the show was “a lot of fun”. It wasn’t sold out, but, it was almost full. There was a “good variety of dancing” with a Cha Cha, Contemporary, Salsa, and a Jive. There were some nice segments of when Maks used to teach dancing and the other dancers in the show pretended to be his students. Peta Murgatroyd and Jenna Johnson were in the audience. Maks made a nod to Peta during the show and she was having fun, screaming and clapping loud each time. Thanks Matt! Below you can view a few photos and videos.
ETA: Griffin Marini’s You Tube channel has started to upload videos of the show. You can watch them here. Below is one courtesy of Camera To Wall….
Last night, former (and hopefully future again) Dancing With The Stars judge Julianne Hough attended a “For Your Consideration Event” for FOX’s ‘Grease Live’. You can watch a live stream below as well as view some beautiful photos. I love Julianne in red and look at her eyes. Gorgeous! Adding: I’m so hoping Julianne and the cast get nominated for an Emmy for “Grease Live”.
Much luck to the cast and crew of the Maks and Val “Our Way” Tour tonight as they premiere their first show in Melbourne, Florida. Below are a few teasers from dress rehearsals and more. We’d love to share your experience.
Dancing With The Stars Tom Bergeron will be hosting “A Capital Fourth” on PBS again. Be sure to tune in for a great time in honoring our country’s 240th birthday. To read more details on the show, see PR Newswire.
Dancing With The Stars Mark Ballas and BC Jean were interviewed by Parade. They ask them about their new music and how Mark quit smoking. Below they ask them about Dancing With The Stars and one of the best dances of the season.
Speaking of dancing, congratulations on a great season of Dancing With the Stars. Looking back on this past season, what were some of the highlights?
MB: It was just fun. You know, I really enjoyed the process. My partner was incredibly talented, naturally gifted and talented, which allowed me to really guide creatively, you know, and I think I kind of produced some of my best work yet, and I just really enjoyed it.
For a lot of fans, a favorite moment was when BC sang “Over the Rainbow” for the final dance. What was that moment like for you guys?
BC: It was such a special moment all around. I think that you saw that through Mark’s emotions after he performed. You couldn’t see me afterward, but he choked up, I choked up, it was definitely just special, you know? They had come so far and worked so hard…and that song is just so beautiful, and that moment. I was just lucky to be a part of it.
MB: Yeah, I mean, you come so far, you work so hard, and to be able to do a dance with that much emotion behind it, and feeling, and a story, and also to have your fiancée singing one of the most iconic songs I think of all time. I don’t know what happened, I got a little choked up there! It was an awesome moment, very different from anything I’ve experienced.
Dancing With The Stars Peta Murgartroyd and Maks Chmerkovksiy talked with E Online today about their wedding plans, babies, and lots more. Videos below. So cute!
The couple tell E! News they’re planning to wed in New York City in July 2017, which gives them some time to plan, but there’s still a lot to get done. “It’s a while away, so we’ve got our location, we’ve got our date set, and we haven’t even started doing the guest list yet, but that can wait a little bit,” Peta told us.
“I can try on some dresses now. I think it’s time to start doing all that and getting a wedding planner.”
And you can definitely expect to see some familiar dancing faces at their ceremony. “We deliberately have it in July so it doesn’t conflict with any of the seasons, so we can bring our past partners and our troupe of dancers and stuff like that,” Peta explained.
As most of you probably have heard, The Voice’s Christina Grimmie was sadly killed by a gunman at a Meet And Greet Friday night. Our hearts go out to her, her friends and family, fans, and everyone who knew, worked, and loved her. As you might remember, Christina has performed several times on Dancing With The Stars in the past. What a senseless tragedy. Once again, the world mourns for a beautiful and innocent person’s passing and wonders why there aren’t more gun restrictions and help for the mentally ill in this country. Many are also asking why we don’t have more security at venues for our artists in protecting them like we do at airports, etc. Dylan Chambers said it all below for how I feel. Let’s hope TPTB of all the dancing, singing, and entertainment tours coming up now and in the future are prepared to up security because we need to do everything we can to protect our dancers and artists (and us) from being hurt while they bring so much joy, talent, and creativity to the world. Special thanks to Heidi and Dee for our conversation at twitter for the inspiration for this post too. Do you have thoughts on this as well? If so, make them heard in comments. xx
Below you can watch a cool teaser for Maks and Val Chmerkovksiy’s “Our Way” tour courtesy of dancer and choreographer Scotty Nguyen. Beautiful! Note that Scotty has helped with the Dancing With The Stars and Move Live On Tours in the past.
