What did you think of Julianne’s yellow dress last night on Dancing With The Stars? People has posted a new style blog for how she put her look all together including pictures.
This time Patrickson picked the “fun, feminine and bold” gown because “Julianne loved it the minute she put it on! the color is so tough to pull off but Jules just shone.” After figuring out how to keep the look from being “too princess-y,” she collaborated with Barnes and Capri for the beauty look. “We all kinda came together for this one,” she says. “The bright chartreuse of the dress brought in the fun pop of color on the lip and the gorgeous Henri Sillam drop earrings gave us some hair inspiration.”
Capri said the moment the dress was on, the hair was decided. “We originally were going to have her hair down, but as soon as she put the dress on to make sure it fit, we all agreed it looked best up!” she says. “We’ve been doing DWTS for a while now, and we always want to do something new and different. This time I curled her hair in a different texture that I never curled it before, and Julianne and I loved it. It might be our new favorite wave!”
Barnes also had a blast reuniting with Team Hough. “Starting a new season with Julianne is like celebrating the first day of spring after a cold winter. Our sunshine girl is back!” he says. Once he saw the “Cinderella fabulous” dress Patrickson picked out, he reached for Kevin Aucoin’s The Matte lip color in “Forever” for a bright, spring-y finish, and dusted her skin with three bronzers by the brand (The Celestial Bronzing Veil in “Tropical Nights,” The Sculpting Powder and Starlight The Celestial Powder) to sculpt her face. “when you wear a bright lip color paired with bronzed skin, don’t feel like you have to wear blush as if it’s a hard and fast rule,” he advises. “Look for balance and the finished look will feel more clean and effortless.”
A TV Heads up: Don’t miss Julianne and Derek Hough On The Lip Sync Battle on April 2nd at 10 p.m. on Spike TV.
Also, Julianne and Carrie Ann were on The Meredith Show today. Below are a couple of clips thanks to Lori. Julianne says she’s got no idea where her Dancing With The Stars trophies are because she’s moved seven times since then. In the second video, Carrie Ann says that she would always get so nervous before every show, but, having Julianne on the judges panel relieves her nerves and she hasn’t thrown up since.
ETA: Thanks to Abby, here is more of their appearance…

I am an entertainer who dances, not a trained dancer. When I am in the middle of a dance line of 30-40 in Vegas and I blow a step or two, I go into Lucy, like Lucy Ricardo during the famous challenge routine dance that Ricky created when she wanted to be on his show. Not so on DWTS. If I miss a step, I’m history. Bye everybody!
I pride myself on being a pro. I was in a Zen space last night. I was calm, relaxed and ready. When I went out there, I went out to have fun, and I did. I laughed through the whole thing. Performances are natural for me. I am used to being in front of big crowds. The hardest part of this whole first week were the first two days. I had to adopt a sense of humility and realize that I was essentially in kindergarten learning a whole new language.
I didn’t pay much attention to the score. I was happy with their comments and walked away from the whole thing feeling great. I want all the women my age to see these performances as aspirational – that it’s not about your age, it’s about your energy. I have youthful energy and superb health because of the way I have been taking care of myself all of which is represented in every one of my 25 books.
