Apolo Ohno has penned a new blog at People.com about Dancing With The Stars. He writes how this past week prepping for week 9 has been the hardest yet. See why below….
Now that we’ve made it to week nine, oh, man, I’m dying. Not really, but for me this is by far the absolute hardest week I’ve ever had on Dancing with the Stars. We have big top jazz, which is a dance that I know zero about. I’ve never done it before on the show, and I don’t think we’ve ever seen it before on the show.
Our choreography is super intense, different, unique, fun, almost Cirque du Soleil-like a little bit. It’s crazy. There’s so much content in it. I feel like I need another two weeks just to work on that dance. Then we also have the rumba, which we haven’t even started yet.
I can’t control the outcome of the show. The fans have carried us this far, which has been an absolute blessing. But I take every week on the show as if it’s my last. The only thing I can control is how much time, energy and effort we put into each week. Who cares about the scores? Who cares if somebody dances better? Doing my very best is rewarding internally.
I think voters know that we work extremely hard and we have fun. I hope that, especially over the past couple of weeks, people have been able to see how much in character we get. It’s acting, it’s fun, it’s theatrical, it’s emotional, it’s physical. It’s all in one package.
You can read more at People.com.. I hope these two can knock it out of the ballpark tonight.

Pictured above is Derek Hough and Mark Ballas gracing the Red Carpet at Rolling Stone Magazine’s Annual American Musc Award After Party. Don’t they look fantastic? I love their leather coats…Derek’s more than Mark’s. What do you think? So cute! 😀
Speaking of, Dancing With The Stars All Star Apolo Ohno also presented an award at the American Music Awards to Linkin Park seen below. What an honor…
You can see more pics of Derek, Mark, and Apolo at Zimbio Pictures. Heidi has more fabulous shots of Mark and Derek at Pure Derek Hough that you’ll want to see as well.
So, did any of you watch the American Music Awards? I really enjoyed all the performances this year…especially from P!NK. Did you see her dance? She blew me away with some of the ballroom moves she did! 😯 Beautiful! I also enjoyed Justin Bieber and Psy!!

Jennifer Tapiero of StarCam Celebrities caught up with Val and Tony at the Lexington AMA Gift Suite before the AMAs on November 20th. These are some fun interviews they’ve recently uploaded….
For starters, Val tells Jennifer “life would be very boring” when asked what life would be like without music to dance to. Val dishes on how he became a dancer and a musician. He’s planning to record a new album and hopefully release a couple of new singles in the new year (I am so happy to hear this because I love Val’s music, do you?). Val talks of Dancing With The Stars as well and how he hopes to be back to redeem himself next season.
As for the interview with Tony, he says, “There would be no dancing without music.” He also talks about Dancing With The Stars and how he’d like to see Jennifer Aniston dance on the show next season. His best advise for dancers is “to dance like no one is watching.”
Starcam Celebrities has a great You Tube Channel with other interviews too! Be sure to check it out and subscribe.
