Today, Carrie Ann Inaba was a guest on the Katie Couric show to help promote Pet Adoption. She also answered some questions from fans in the Green Room about her pets and her animal rescue foundation. She not only has 4 cats, but, now she has two dogs as well. Carrie Ann also discusses what it’s like being a judge on Dancing With The Stars. It’s not always easy especially when she has to critique someone harshly. At the end, Carrie Ann reassures everyone that Dancing With The Stars will be back in March. It will be a “fascinating” season because there will be some new changes and they are going to play with it a little since they are in their “16th” season. They also talk about Katie and how she said she’d like to do Dancing With The Stars (this would be so cool. Please TPTB, make it happen!). Carrie Anne said she’d be really good!! More in detail below…
Isn’t this one of the sweetest takes of Carrie Ann Inaba?!! I tend to gripe on her judging at times, but, griping about her animal rescue work is a whole other story. Cooler yet, Carrie Ann is taking it a step up by starting her own animal foundation. Read this take from People.com….
Since she was a little girl, Carrie Ann Inaba has felt a closeness with animals. The Dancing with the Stars judge lived behind a wildlife preserve in Hawaii, and the environment gave her something priceless: respect for nature.
“It was always clear to me that I needed to give voice to those who couldn’t speak out for themselves,” Inaba, 44, tells PEOPLE. “To give them shelter through whatever storms they’re going through.”
Everything Inaba has pursued in her life since then, she says, has led to this very moment, and she is finally proud to announce that with the launch of The Carrie Ann Inaba Animal Project, she has achieved one of the things she has wanted her whole life.
Awesome! Be sure to read more details at People.

Also, Carrie Anne is going to be honored with an award for her cat rescueing by the Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats at their 2nd Annual CATS for Cats all-star benefit concert taking place July 14th at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. Below is a quote from Carrie Anne on the honor at Business Wire…
“Helping homeless animals is something I just can’t NOT do,” says Inaba, discussing the event’s importance. “I am honored to be a part of this cause and that I am able to help shed light on the need of open hearts, and open homes, for these helpless loving animals. I’m proud to be working in the trenches with organizations like Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats making a difference for the future.”

The other day, we reported to you how Bruno had donated a cat drawing to help a Cats Protection Welfare Charity. Well, the auction at eBay is up and running for those interested. Dancing With The Stars fans wanting to help cats can bid on Bruno’s framed piece of art >>>>>HERE. It’s such a sweet picture. I love it!
Thirty celebrities including Dancing With The Stars judge Bruno Tonioli were asked to draw around their hand, sign it, and style it in their own unique way for a Cats Protection Welfare Charity. The prints go on sale in an eBay auction Thursday, Dec. 1st. Other celebrities who have participated are Shirley Bassey, chef Gordon Ramsay, Glee star Heather Morris, Brigitte Bardot, England cricketer Graeme Swann and comedian Terry Jones. Below is a teaser video.
This makes me happy. I love cats. I didn’t realize Bruno did too and that he helped with a cat program like this!
The fans of Derek Hough have made news headlines. Last Spring, his fans made it a serious mission to donate whatever they could to “Best Friends” in honor of Derek’s birthday last May. Pledges poured in from countries all around the world including Denmark, France, Poland, Spain, Turkey and the UK. When all was said and done, their time and dedication raised nearly $5,000 in the name of homeless dogs on behalf of Derek. Below is a take from Yankees Daily with quotes from Derek and a few of his fans. To read more on how they accomplished such a feat, be sure to read the link in full as well as this one.
“For people to have gone out of their way to donate their time and money to help animals in need through Best Friends is amazing. And that they did so in honor of my birthday, that’s just truly inspiring,” says Derek.
It’s Derek’s fans’ dedication to the mission of No More Homeless Pets that helped turn this fundraiser from an idea into a reality. Whether it’s supporting him comforting pound puppies or burning up the dance floor, it’s clear that Derek’s fans are an incredibly passionate and loyal bunch who embrace any opportunity to express their appreciation and support for him.
“You inspire so many people without even saying a word,” writes Amarilys, a fan who contributed to Derek’s gift from Puerto Rico. Jenn in New Jersey says, “Derek, you inspire me nearly every day to go after my dream no matter how crazy it may seem. You lead by example!”
Tessa in Vermont says, “Seeing you on Dancing with the Stars has always inspired me to be the best that I can be. I’m sure you have many adoring fans who tell you how important you are, but if you’re ever wondering if you really made a difference to someone, you made a difference to me. Thank you for helping me to believe in myself.”
Stephie in California writes, “Thank you for the entertainment and creativity you’ve given us. It was a pleasure to take part in your birthday gift. I love being your fan because you’re so amazingly talented in everything you do.”
