DWTS Season 20 Week 2 Las Vegas Odds: Odds Makers Not Buying Pimp Job

The odds makers have placed their bets for week 2 of Dancing With The Stars Season 20 at Sports Bovada. Isn’t it interesting that Rumer and Val aren’t at the top? Even after all the pimping of them from the judges this past week and the media drinking the Kool Aid, the odds makers didn’t buy it. Ha!! Though if I was them, I would switch Rumer and Ryker. I’m shocked they have Willow so low. I’d put her more towards the top. Same with Redfoo. Take a look below and let us know what you think in comments. Read on to see what Miss Heidi and Court think too….

Nastia Liukin 6/5
Rumer Willis 5/1
Riker Lynch 6/1
Noah Galloway 7/1
Michael Sam 15/2
Robert Herjavec 10/1
Chris Soules 20/1
Patti LaBelle 20/1
Redfoo 33/1
Suzanne Somers 33/1
Willow Shields 33/1
Charlotte McKinney 50/1

Last week’s odds:

Nastia Liukin 2/1
Noah Galloway 4/1
Riker Lynch 7/1
Michael Sam 9/1
Charlotte McKinney 10/1
Patti LaBelle 12/1
Redfoo 12/1
Suzanne Somers 12/1
Willow Shields 12/1
Rumer Willis 16/1
Robert Herjavec 20/1

Heidi: Well, Rumer moved up, but only to 5/1 – and after all that pimpage she got! Going last, having the judges drool and proclaim her the winner…seems we weren’t the only ones who don’t buy it just yet. :-) Interesting that they have Nastia at 6/5 – I am still not convinced that she can win. Derek, after 5 wins, could choreograph 12 Emmy winning routines and still not win, plus they are pretty severely handicapped by being in NYC. Poor Nastia – Derek is a bit of an anchor with his track record and an audience who seems to think Pee-wee-baseball-everyone-gets-a-trophy is an acceptable way to hold a competition. Anyway, I think Michael is probably too low – and that Willow needs to be up with Robert. As for Noah, as much as I like him, I’m not so sure he’s going to finish as high as 4th place. It’s hard to say – Amy covered the inspiring territory, so do people expect him to dance as well as Amy? Are they inured to the injured? Is it different because he’s a veteran? Or did people even forget Amy was a double amputee because she was paired with Derek and did so well? What the general audience thinks is what will dictate how well he finishes. I don’t mean to sound callous…but people ARE callous as we saw with Amy. Of course, Amy threatened the precciousssssss….

Courtney: First off, an apology – these odds are late because of moi, as I was out-of-town this weekend and haven’t had a chance to even look at these until right meow. I guess my overall feeling about them, like my power rankings last week, is “Hmmm.” I find it interesting that the oddsmakers didn’t seem to buy into the OTT praise heaped onto Rumer, and the obvious “this could be your season!” subliminal messaging thrown at Val.  As I told Heidi & Vogue – I think the oddsmakers’ BS detectors have gotten quite a bit better-calibrated over the seasons, and they probably recognize by now that that pimping doesn’t always work (hello, Vajanel). But they DID seem to buy into the nonsense the judges threw Michael about his feet – honestly, I think his performance was the most underrated of last week’s dances, and he got an incongruous amount of nitpicking from the judges.  That’s what puzzles me the most, because I actually think Michael could be the biggest threat to the big 3 (Rumer, Riker, & Nastia) at the moment.  I also think they aren’t quite sure what to make of Noah just yet – demographically-speaking, he should be a big draw; but ability-wise, he’s no Amy right off the bat.  I think we’ll see them get a bit more decisive with his odds over the next few weeks, as we see what he’s actually capable of.

DWTS Season 20 Las Vegas Odds For Week 1: Do You Agree Or Disagree?

Time for our first “Las Vegas Odds” post for Dancing With The Stars Season 20!! The odds makers have placed their bets at Sports Bovada. Take a look below to see what you think. Do you agree or disagree? Keep in mind that they haven’t included the 12th contestant Chris Souls yet.

Nastia Liukin 2/1
Noah Galloway 4/1
Riker Lynch 7/1
Michael Sam 9/1
Charlotte McKinney 10/1
Patti LaBelle 12/1
Redfoo 12/1
Suzanne Somers 12/1
Willow Shields 12/1
Rumer Willis 16/1
Robert Herjavec 20/1

My thoughts: I think they have the top three about right, but, I think I’d place Redfoo at 3rd. I also think Suzanne Somers will do better than what they show. Same with Rumer. I was shocked to see her placed so low. 8O I think she should be somewhere in the top 5. I do agree with Robert being towards the bottom. If I were to pick who should be at the very bottom, I’d pick Charlotte and Patti before Robert. I’m on the fence about Chris Soules since we haven’t seen him dance yet, but, he has a good teacher with Witney. Looking at their odds overall makes me wonder of how tight this competition might be this season with 3/4th of this cast? I can’t wait.

Let’s see what Heidi and Courtney think and be sure let us know your thoughts in comments….

Courtney: I think the knee-jerk reaction of most oddsmakers would be Olympic gymnast + Derek = guaranteed win, but I actually don’t see them winning this season…too much of a “gimme”, and too many people of the pewee football mentality: “Let other pros have a chance to win!” I think the best they can hope for is 2nd. I think they have Charlotte wayyyy too high – not based on ability, but the fact that she is not very well-known relative to the other celebs this season (when she was first announced as a cast member, she didn’t even have her own Wikipedia page…yikes). At this point, I would probably put her at the bottom, below Robert, like Vogue. I think Patti is too high as well, and I think she’s going to reeeeallllly struggle before getting booted before the midpoint of the season. Redfoo is wayyyy too low – given his enthusiasm and some innate dancing skills, I think he could be the dark horse this season.  I’d probably boost Rumer & Willow as well, as I think the fanbases of their pros are going to carry them for awhile (even if they can’t dance for beans, and I don’t think that will end up being the case with either of them).  As for Chris – I’d put him slightly above Charlotte, but below Patti & Robert.  I doubt he’s going to make much of a splash and will probably be one of the first voted out.

Heidi: Yeah, as usual these odds are kind of a mess.  I can certainly see why they would have Nastia at number 1, but I don’t think she’s actually going to win.  I think the Top 4 will be Nastia, Riker, Redfoo and Rumer – and they only have one of those in their top 4. Willow could take the place of anyone except probably Nastia – I definitely see her in the final 4.  I also think Noah will be at least top 6, but I’m not all that certain he be as high as second place. This is why I don’t normally make a guess as to who will win without seeing them dance. Sometimes it’s obvious (Meryl OR Charlie) and other times it not at all.  While Noah is amazing, he does still have to dance and I don’t have a clue about that just yet.  I think Charlotte is going to be first out, followed by Robert then Chris. We may not like Chris, but the Bachelors generally have big followings.  Everyone else is somewhere in the middle of the pack.  Why the odds makers have Charlotte and Michael as high as they do is a mystery to me. And why Rumer is near the bottom is also a mystery. Weirdness.

Las Vegas Odds Makers Make First DWTS Season 15 All Star Predictions

Wow, would you believe the odds makers in Las Vegas are already predicting who will the new Dancing With The Stars All Star Season? For now, Las Vegas Sports Betting has Helio Castroneves taking it all with Apolo Ohno, Emmitt Smith, and Shawn Johnson neck and neck behind him. I was shocked to see how low they placed Gilles Marini. In my opinion, he should be placed further at the top if not winning it. I would have placed Apolo higher than Helio. I don’t think Pamela Anderson is going to do this badly either. 8O

Helio Castroneves 9/2
Apolo Anton Ono 5/1
Emmitt Smith 6/1
Shawn Johnson 6/1
Drew Lachey 7/1
Joey Fatone 7/1
Kelly Monaco 15/2
Gilles Marini 10/1
Kirstie Alley 10/1
Melissa Rycroft 12/1
Bristol Palin 15/1
Kyle Massey/Sabrina Bryan/Carson Kressley 20/1
Pamela Anderson 25/1

Let’s get Miss Heidi and Court’s takes on this and be sure you let us know your thoughts too in the comment section.

Courtney: I honestly feel a little weird commenting on odds this early, since we don’t even know the partnerships yet – but alas, I guess I should get used to this season not feeling “normal” :-P I agree with Vogue that I think they’re somewhat overestimating Helio – I think the two Olympians, Apolo & Shawn, are probably going to be the ones to beat (perhaps with a slight edge given to Shawn), with Gilles & Joey following close behind…then MAYBE Helio & Drew.  I wish I disagreed with their odds for Pam, but I think she may really struggle with votes – she did on her own season, and I daresay she’s up against bigger fan favorites this time around.  And like I’ve said before to folks around here that are freaking out about Bristol – I really think they’re giving Bristol too much credit.  She’s not the “innocent girl next door” she tried to portray in season 11 anymore, she’s up against more popular contestants, and better dancers.  If she thinks she’s just going to coast all the way to the finale like she did the first time around – she’s got another thing coming.  As for the final all-star we’re voting on…hmmmm.  I’m fairly certain Kyle is pretty much a lost cause, since he seems to be campaigning the LEAST out of the 3; I think Sabrina may be relying a bit too heavily on other people to promote her; and I think Carson is making the best effort to get himself cast.  If we get Carson – I doubt he’ll be a stellar dancer,  but I could see him outlasting at least Pam and Melissa, perhaps Bristol.  If we get Sabrina – I still think she’ll be gone before the midpoint of the season.  But I’m reluctant to say anything “in stone” until we hear the last all-star and the pairings announced – because I think that could change the odds quite a bit.

Heidi: Yeah, I think the pairings are going to be the deciding factor this time around. I think that a large part of both Helio’s and Apolo’s success was their partnership with Julianne – everyone thought both couples were so charming and “cute”.  I think both men were good dancers, but they gained a lot of ground due to shippers and others who just liked them as couples. Julianne ain’t around this time, so this is where the real test begins. Both men were pretty heavily criticized in their early rounds and then once they kept going on, the judges started getting on board.  Will they this time?? As for Gilles – are they under rating him?? I don’t know. I thought he was a pretty good dancer, but it will be interesting to see how he looks compared to the other guys. Yeah, his partnership with Cheryl was important, but will Cheryl be the Cheryl that William had or the Cheryl that originally had Gilles or Drew??  Speaking of Drew, I think Drew, Joey and Kelly are going to find out that this ain’t the same competition that it was when they were originally on it.  The bar was raised when Julianne, Derek and Mark came on board and all the other pros stepped up. So I think they might have their work cut out for them.  Another thing that will be key will be those people who get their original pro – the competition will either be weighted in their favor (Mark and Cheryl, in particular) or they could find even better pairs from the new couples.  A lot of these people were great in their own seasons – but how will they look against people who were also very good in their seasons? We won’t know until we see them. Sabrina? She’s toast, so I agree there. She may be a good dancer, but there are a lot of good dancers – all with much larger fanbases. And if she doesn’t have Mark, as I suspect? Well, all those little shippers may find their impact minimized. If she snags Derek (doubtful) she might stand a chance because I think he will soften the hard lines. ANYWAY, that is my long winded way of saying that it’s much too soon to do the odds – the pairings will be the first critical hurdle, then it will be how well these pairs look opposite each other.

Dancing With The Stars Las Vegas Odds For September 5th (Changes From A Week Ago)

A week in rehearsals now, and the Dancing With The Stars Season 13 odds have changed a little from our last report. Elisabetta is still in the top spot, but, Hope Solo has jumped from fourth place to second place. Carson has dipped down from second place to fourth place. Ron and Chynna have fallen too. They still have Ricki placed low which shocks me as well. I think they underestimating David too who is still at 10/1 odds. Here is more from SportsBoDog. How they can figure these bets without seeing them dance yet is beyond me? 8O

Kristin Cavallari 11/2

Carson Kressley 7/1

Robert Kardashian 15/2
