Music Buzz: Will Chris Brown Perform On Dancing With The Stars?

According to Hollywood Life, Chris Brown might be performing on Dancing With The Stars at some point in the season. And what if it happens even as soon as next week for the premiere being his new “X” album comes out on the 16th? I hope so. I always love Chris’ performances and I hope he dances.

HollywoodLife.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY that Chris is set to take the stage on Saturday Night Live and even the ballroom dance floor on Dancing With The Stars.

“In support and promotion for ‘X,’ Chris will be doing the typical promotional slate to get the word out that the album is coming and that will include appearances and performances on both SNL and DWTS,” an insider tells us. “Everyone is very excited for this to happen and Chris really wants to make the appearances very memorable. Should be a very fun time.”

Chris Brown, A Dick Clark Tribute, and More To Entertain On Dancing With The Stars

ABC Media Net has released details for next week’s dances and judging. Details below as well as who will be singing and dancing in the pro numbers.

“Episode 1408 & 1408A” – The competition heats up as the remaining six couples hit the ballroom with two rounds of competitive dance performances, a ballroom dance and the Trio dance — both of which will be a style that they’ve not yet performed, MONDAY, MAY 7 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on ABC. During the Trio dance, a “DWTS” first, each couple will be allowed to add an extra professional dancer to their routine. The second dancer will be chosen from a pool of eliminated pros and members of The Troupe. In addition to their regular criteria for judging dance routines, the judges will pay extra attention to how well each celebrity is showcased in the performance with an extra dancer in the mix.

Grammy Award winner Chris Brown takes to the stage with an incredible performance of his hit song “Turn Up the Music,” on “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show,” TUESDAY, MAY 8 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on ABC. “Turn Up the Music,” written and produced by The Underdogs and Fuego, is Brown’s first single off his eagerly anticipated new album, “Fortune,” which releases May 8th.

Also during Tuesday night’s show, Dmitry Chaplin and Anya Garnis will perform a special routine from the “Dancing with the Stars Live in Las Vegas Show” to “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?” “Macy’s Stars of Dance” will be an “American Bandstand” tribute to the legendary Dick Clark. The performance will be a huge dance number featuring pro dancers Karina Smirnoff, Tony Dovolani and the Troupe, choreographed by Jamal Sims and Wendy Johnson, and will pay homage to “American Bandstand,” representing four decades of the popular music show, with many of the original “Bandstand” regulars joining us in the audience.

By Tuesday evening’s end, two couples will be eliminated, as determined by a combination of the judges’ scores and viewers’ votes on dances performed on Monday’s performance show.

Wow, “A Dick Clark” Tribute…sounds really cool!! I loved American Bandstand. I use to watch it just for the dancing every week.

DWTS 12 End of Season Award Winners – Which Musical Guest Was the Best?

John: Seriously. How do you decide on this one?

Vogue: I have to say this was kind of lackluster Season for entertainment in my opinion. I was hoping for Katy Perry, Rihanna, or Lady Gaga. But, from the choices, I picked New Kids On The Block/Backstreet Boys. I so loved the boy bands and it was great seeing them again. I loved Hanson too!

Courtney: This category drives me absolutely NUTS because there’s so damn many musical acts each season, and a ridiculous number of write-in votes.  People, please – Josh Groban’s name is spelled like that, and there are no alternative spellings.  And whoever wrote in “Hanson FTW” – you irk me. 🙂 Echoing John’s sentiments, I’m a little perplexed as to how Adele managed to win this one.  Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Adele, but she only sang one song (with laryngitis) and was forced to bow out of the second one due to aforementioned laryngitis.  It was an ok performance – but not her best.  But alas, Adele is popular with our readers – laryngitis or not! I’m with Vogue on this one…I’m such a boy band fangirl, and I’m ridiculously excited to see NKOTBSB here in Indy later this month 😉 I actually thought they put on the best “show” of all the musical acts – you could tell they had put some thought into their performance, and hadn’t just flown in at the last minute and been like “Ok, we’re here, give us some dancers and we’ll do a quick run-through.” Hanson was a nice addition to the performance show – definitely better lead-in music than Harold Wheeler’s many variations on the DWTS theme.  I really enjoyed Michael & Delta as well – wish I could say the same for the Black Eyed Peas.  But you guys already know how I feel about them – let’s just say I found a very apt comment from someone on Twitter that likened them to a venereal disease. 😉 Jennifer & Toby seemed a little unenthusiastic to me, and I thought Chris Brown did ok given the firestorm surrounding his performance.  Rounding out the dreaded write-in category: Josh/Johs/Joe Groban/Grobin/Grodin/etc. (8), David Garrett (3), Katherine Jenkins (1), Pitbull/Neyo/Nayer (1), Selena Gomez (1), Pia Toscano *snicker* (1), and “they all sucked” (1).  One performance I kinda wish someone had mentioned – James Blunt.  I thought his performance with Val & Daria dancing was one of the most entertaining for me, and seriously – that guy has come a long way since his first album, when he was a total Debbie Downer.  Did he get some action or something? The dude has rainbows coming out of his ass these days! 🙂

Marianya: Courtney, Vogue… I guess I’m jumping on that fangirly boyband bandwagon. The most memorable musical act for me was NKOTBSB hands down. I mean it seems like it was prepared and created for the DWTS stage as opposed to just something tossed together or taken from a past tour act, that I likey, I likey a lot.

Heidi: I was inordinately fond of that one Hanson boy’s suspenders. 🙂  I don’t know WHY I like such things or why I get fascinated by them. 🙂 In any case, I found Hanson’s presence on that one performance show lent the show a new and different feel from usual. Now, I think I generally HATE theme nights on principle, but I liked their inclusion and I loved some of the songs they played. I dunno, it was new and different in a way that I liked for a change. 🙂

DWTS 2011 – Chris Brown Performing Or Not, Dancing With The Stars Would Have Received Top Ratings

Some of the cast of Danicng With The Stars were ‘less than thrilled’ about Chris Brown’s visit to the show this past week. Robin Quivers’ (filling in for Joy Behar on her show) interviewed Cheryl yesterday. In the interview Cheryl talked of how wrong she thought it was. Many of you have expressed the same. Watch below and see if she has a point.

According to All Headlines News, Cheryl wasn’t the only cast member with the same feelings about Chris Brown being on the show.

Contestants Wendy Williams and Kirstie Alley, as well as professional dancer Cheryl Burke, are also less than thrilled that Brown visited the set.

Cheryl told Popeater after the singer’s performance, “As a victim of domestic violence, I don’t agree with him coming on the show, but it’s out of my control.”

A source added, “Usually when a big star comes in to sing, the entire cast is excited to meet them and spend the day together at rehearsals. With Chris, no one wanted to be around when he rehearsed.”

“Kirstie wanted to spend as little time as possible around him. It was hard enough for her to be in the same building as him.”

And while everything went without a hitch on stage, with Brown even helping bring ratings to the show, it wasn’t as smooth backstage.

The insider said, “No one wanted anything to do with him. Most of the cast thinks it’s a disgraceful that ABC invited him on in the first place, but after he smashed a window backstage at ‘Good Morning America,’ almost everyone participating in the competition thought he should have been canceled.”

By the way, the press (one example of many) keeps mentioning how Chris Brown gave the show top ratings Tuesday night as if it was all his doing? In my opinion, Chris Brown performing or not, the show would have received top ratings since it was the first results show and it can hold it’s own. They need to stop raving on Chris Brown and give the dancers, hosts, judges, the new Dance Troupe, the crew, etc., props instead!! 😐

Dancing with the Stars 2011 Special Guest Music – Dance Troupe and Chris Brown

I sometimes try to list the music that’s used on the DWTS results show. Although, sometimes it’s hard to figure out and sometimes there’s not enough to mess around with the list of music from the DWTS results show. I’ll give it a whirl tonight.

Chris Brown performed the song “Yeah 3x” Yeah 3X - F.A.M.E. (Deluxe Version) with cameo appearance from Bailey (aka B-boy Bailrok) who was part of Future Funk on America’s Got Talent.

Chris Brown performed a laser inspired performance to the song “Forever.” Forever - Forever - Single

A bunch of people on Twitter were complaining about Chris Brown lip syncing and of course there’s the commentary about him not being fit to perform on the show after his various antics. For me, I thought his performance was ok. I was most happy that his performance included a lot of dancing. My least favorite musical guests are those that just get up and sing. I watch a dancing show to watch dance. Chris Brown at least satisfied my need to see some dance with his performance.

Also, what did you think about the new Dancing with the Stars Troupe? Of course, if you’re a regular reader of the site, then you already knew there would be a Dancing with the Stars Troupe since Vogue wrote about it a few weeks ago. Peta was the highlight of the Dance Troupe for me.

The six members of the Dancing with the Stars Dance Troupe performed to Sly and the Family Stone’s song “Dance to the Music” Dance to the Music - Dance to the Music choreographed by Jason Gilkison.

As always, be sure to check out all the music from Dancing with the Stars 2011 including the music from last night’s episode.

DWTS12 – Chris Brown and Toby Keith To Perform On Dancing With The Stars

Extra is reporting Chris Brown is to perform on Dancing With The Stars next Tuesday, March 29. However, there was talk ABC might cancel his appearance after an outburst on Good Morning America yesterday.

While promoting his new album “F.A.M.E.” on “GMA,” the singer seemed calm when answering anchor Robin Roberts’ questions about his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, but afterwards, apparently lost it, ripping off his shirt, picking up a chair and allegedly smashing a window.

😯 Ok, I would definitely say he still has some issues. Be sure to take our new Poll below (Thanks Sasa) for what you think will or should happen.

Toby Keith is also slated to perform on the show according to his Twitter page and Taste of Country.

Toby Keith took to his official Twitter page today and posted this message: “Just back from spring break w/ family & heard I’m SINGING ON DWTS.” Even though it sounds like this was sprung upon Keith very suddenly, we are definitely excited to see what he has in store for his performance.

No official word has been released on when Keith will perform, but since the news is coming straight from Keith himself, it sounds like a sure thing. Hmm … we wonder if his daughter Krystal will join him when he hits the ‘DWTS’ stage!
