Sasha Farber, Sharna Burgess, Daria Chesnokova New Members Of The Dancing With The Stars Troupe?

As some of you have posted in the comments sections and in some twitter chat (including @DWTStroupe), Daria Chesnokova and Sasha Farber might be the replacements for Nicole Volynets and Tristan MacManus in the Dancing With The Stars Dance Troupe. Another dancer that might be dancing in the troupe is Sharna Burgess.

Daria, also known as “Dasha”, is Val Chmerkovskiy’s former dance partner from from 2008 until this year. She is also from the Ukraine like Val. The two have won numerous World dance titles together and have helped to teach at the Dance With Me Soho Studios in New York.

Sasha was born in Russia, but, moved to Australia when he was 13 at which he started dancing. By the time Sasha was 17, he had won the Australian Youth Latin Championships twice and represented Australia at the World Latin Championships. He was featured in the closing ceremony at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and has danced several times on Dancing with the Stars in the past. He is most known for his role in the highly successful dance theatre production Burn The Floor. He has been described as an “explosively, energetic dancer”.

Sharna Burgess, like Sasha, is also from Australia where she studied dance. She has also been a dancer in “Burn The Floor”.

If true, I think these dancers would be the perfect replacements even though I don’t understand why they dropped Nicole? She was fantastic as well.

The three new dancers will join Teddy Volynets, Kiki Nyemchek, and Oksana Dmytrenko who were are 2nd year members of the Dancing With The Stars Dance Troupe.

Tony Dovolani Tweets about Amateur Ballroom on DWTS

Could this be what Maks was referring to when he spoke about “special arrangements”?? Makes sense, since Lacey and Cheryl also appear to be doing similar things at their studios. Maybe they are having a contest between the pros studios?? Or is the “special arrangement” something else? Hmmmm….any ideas?? Inside knowledge? Wild-assed guesses?? 🙂

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

Dancing With The Stars 12 – ‘Dance Teacher’ Magazine Pays Homage To Tony Dovolani

Dance Teacher Magazine pays tribute to ‘the one and only’ Tony Dovolani this month. He graces the cover. They also interview him as well about his whole life from when he started dancing at age 3 to now. His story is phenomenal. Here is a take but, the link has much more. Fantastic read!!!

Tony may tango with the stars, but he’s got his feet firmly on the ground.

There have been many pinnacle moments in ballroom dancer Tony Dovolani’s career—an Emmy nomination for “Dancing with the Stars,” working on the movie Shall We Dance? and entering a dance business partnership with “DWTS” co-star Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Yet in Dovolani’s mind, one stands out above the rest. It was Labor Day weekend 2005, and he had just snared a first-place finish at the Embassy Ball in Irvine, California. As he watched the American flag being raised in his honor, the charismatic dancer was overcome with emotion. Not only was it his first world championship, but it also marked a major passage for the one-time immigrant.

“I truly felt like I thanked America back for saving my life,” says Dovolani, who emigrated from Kosovo with his family as a teenager. “My dad was there and we shared a smile; we were both teary-eyed because we knew what we’d been through to get to that point. It made me feel like I was worthy of being in this country.”

Six years later, Dovolani is now a staple on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and known worldwide as a celebrity ballroom dancer. But amid all the trappings of fame, he remains down-to-earth, family-oriented and full of gratitude. “If dancing is your passion, it will keep rewarding you throughout your entire life,” he says. “I cannot imagine my life without dancing in it.”
