DWTS Cheryl Burke Attends QVC’s New York Fashion Week Runway Show (Photos)

Cheryl has certainly been making some cool press rounds this week in New York City as you might have read in a previous posting. She’s been promoting Dancing With The Stars, her book “Dancing Lessons”, and her new Skin Smooth Campaign with Veet. Last night, Cheryl attended QVC’s New York Fashion Week runway show pictured above. You can see more pics of her at Zimbio and Getty Images. Be sure to see her twitter account as she posted a few backstage shots and tweeted about all the fun she had. What a Diva in purple and black pumps!!

Also, I don’t know what this tweet was about last night, but, I’m liking it. 😀

Be sure to watch Miss Heidi’s new “Pro Watch” Post closely to see if Cheryl will be dancing on the next season of Dancing With The Stars.

Cheryl Burke Talks of “Dancing Lessons” And New Season Of Dancing With The Stars (Video)

Dancing With The Stars Cheryl Burke glowed in a pastel pink dress in a new interview on Good Morning America today. She dished about her personal and inspiring book “Dancing Lessons”, but, she also made some mentions on the new upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars when asked about it from Lara Spencer. Cheryl said she hasn’t heard any rumors yet for who is dancing, but, the Dancing With The Stars cast is so excited. She says dance training begins in three weeks. She also talks of sometimes not knowing a thing about her partners until she googles them. She’s asked who she thought would be the most challenging of all of her partners and she answered with Rob Kardashian. He shocked her every week with how much he improved in attitude and dancing. Cheryl is asked on her dream partner and she gives a big plug to Victor Cruz. I have to say she and Victor would be perfect together. Do you agree? Lots more below….

ADDING: In other news on Cheryl, she’s been signed on to help promote the Skin Smooth Campaign.

“I am thrilled to represent a brand that understands the importance of looking and feeling beautiful in your skin and the freedom of long-lasting smoothness,” explains Burke. “As a professional dancer on television, these play a huge role in my daily life, so the synergy between me and Veet was natural and a perfect fit.”

You can read all about here.

ADDING#2: More of Cheryl’s dream picks for Dancing With The Stars when she gets interviewed by VH1….

ADDING#3: Below is Cheryl on Good Day NY with more of the same promotions. Thanks to Maddy for the heads up on this video.

Cheryl Burke On Dancing Lessons, Personal Hardships, And Dancing With The Stars!

FOX News has a new interview up With Dancing With The Stars Cheryl Burke in promotion with her new paperback release for ‘Dancing Lessons: How I Found Passion and Potential on the Dance Floor and in Life’. In the new interview Cheryl discusses how dancing shaped her life, her personal tribulations with child molestation (I’m so glad she decided to write about it), and Dancing With The Stars. I also love what she says on Rob, casting, and her goals for the show which you can read below. Be sure to read the full interview at the link.

FOX411: Last season we had Rob Kardashian out by week three. But he won us over.
Burke: Yeah that’s what I thought as well. I think it was week four when he dedicated a dance to his dad, I think people really started relating to him. He’s just a real person, like a normal guy who is not affected by the whole Hollywood scene. In the beginning you judged him because he’s Rob Kardashian, but you really got to know who he is and he’s really a simple, humble person.

FOX411: The producers pick your partners. Ever walk in the room and think oh no?
Burke: At the end of the day I’m not going to win every season. My goal is to try my best. They can’t always give me the young, good looking partners, they really have to make sure they mix it up, otherwise people are going to start thinking, ‘Why does Cheryl always get the good partners?’ I can’t always have the heartthrob.

FOX411: Maks was pretty outspoken last season. Was it uncomfortable backstage?
Burke: That’s just who is he. He says what he says and I’m not the one to judge.

Dancing With The Stars – Cheryl Burke Ranks Her Partners in a “Naughty But Nice” Way

Cheryl recently sat down on an episode of HDNet’s ‘Naughty But Nice’. She has fun ranking her partners in a joking way. More below. By the way, have you read Cheryl’s book “Dancing Lessons” yet? I’m reading it right now. It’s really good and I’m liking it more than I thought. I love how she gives little insights in it with life and dancing advise in little circles on some of the pages throughout the book. Well done.

DWTS Season 12 – Cheryl Burke Talks On The New DWTS Cast & Her New Book

Cheryl has been making press rounds again this week. Here she is on the George Lopez show last night talking about the new cast of Dancing With The Stars. It’s a totally hilarious segment. Cheryl is just as witty as George. And hey, her hot pink heels rock too!! 🙂

Cheryl also appeared on The Nate Berkus Show yesterday. This interview is more serious where she talks about her new book “Dancing Lessons”, the biggest lessons she’s learned so far in her life, and dancing. Great interview!!!

DWTS – Derek Lands A Movie Role & More Media On Tony, Maks, Cheryl, And Mark!

Let’s get right to it. Our top news story of the Day via Allkpop and Pure Derek Hough: Derek has landed a role in a new dancing movie called “Cobu 3D”. He will be starring with South Korean singer BoA. Here are some details…

BoA will be starring alongside Derek Hough, the champion of America’s hit reality show, ”Dancing with the Stars“. The two stars play the role of dancers who grew up in vastly different environments, and so they knock heads when they first meet at an underground New York club. Although they start off as fierce rivals, they eventually fall into a ‘Romeo and Juliet’ type of love.

Duane Adler (who’s known for his work with “Save the Last Dance” and “Step Up“) will be directing the film, and it’s being co-produced by Robert Cort, CJ Entertainment, and SM Entertainment.

“COBU 3D” aims to escape from the standard dance movies that focus on battles instead of delivering a solid storyline. The film will shed light on a beautiful love story, as well as spotlighting a variety of dance styles including tap, hip hop, and swing.

The movie is scheduled for an early 2012 release, and CJ Entertainment will be distributing it in Korea, China, and Japan. Lionsgate International will be the international sales agent, and they’re planning to begin pre-sales at the Berlin International Film Festival this February.

UPDATE (thanks to Lisa G and Heidi):: Sadly this means, Derek Hough won’t be returning for Season 12 on Dancing With The Stars. Conrad Green, executive producer for DWTS, has made this statement to Access Hollyood.

“Dancing” executive producer Conrad Green told Access they expect Derek to return to the ballroom later this year.

“We wish Derek the best as he takes time off from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ to pursue his film career and look forward to having him return to the show in the Fall,” Conrad said in a statement to Access.

BoA is pictured below in case some of you may not know who she is. More on her and her career at this link.

This is going to be fun especially for us dance movie freaks! Congradulations Derek! You can see him on the set working in this tweet.

Tony has landed a fun role in a new episode of “Are We There Yet” too. Jason Palmer tweeted a picture of the two which you can see below.

Wow, to our pros this year. They’ve had big off seasons. Same with Maks who as you know is currently filming The Bachelor in the Ukraine. Special thanks to a resident and native of Russia named Marina (via tweeters @ScibblerNY and @FLLottodreamer), we have a full English translation of Maks’ new interview from the Ukraine that we reported to you earlier. You can read it in full >>>HERE. I thought this quote was interesting. I’m dying to know, how this will effect his role on DWTS,…that is if there is one this Season?

Q: As far as I know, the indispensable condition for you is to marry after the project…

MC: No! The main thing, I need to propose: all comes to an end with a betrothal (engagement)… Whether there will be a real wedding depends on me. It happens, people change/disagree. Perhaps when I learn more about this girl, she will change, be another person. Or me. But I wouldn’t want that to happen. My decision is serious. You know, I love clever, intellectual women. It is not interesting to me to only communicate on topics of shoes, socks and glasses. Nice to talk about politics, sports, art… Then the relationship will be comfortable.

Q: Is there a marriage contract to sign?

MC: Yes, I gather. But I wouldn’t want to disclose these legal details.

Not only has Cheryl revealed how much being molested hurt her, she also has revealed how hurt she was when a tabloid published photos of her looking heavier. Here is a take from People. Be sure to pick up the new issue which hits new stands today if you’d like to read more.

Secretly, however, the two-time Dancing champ, 26, was devastated, and tried everything from nearly starving herself (“Couldn’t do it,” she says) to diet pills (“Nasty – I felt anxious and shaky).”

Ultimately, the weight came off gradually, thanks to her rigorous dance schedule and a focus on eating plenty of vegetables, avoiding preservatives, and allowing for occasional splurges.

“I love carbs and I love chips,” she says. “I’m not going to deprive myself – but instead of eating potato chips I’ll eat Triscuits or low-fat Cheez-Its.”

Lastly, we have a couple of interviews to share with Mark promoting his new album “HurtLoveBox”. The interview below was taken after his concert at the Hard Rock Cafe in Washington D.C..

From MartinGuitar, Mark discusses his musical influences, the new album, and Chelsie. Much more at the link.

Who would you consider some of your biggest musical influences?
MB: I have a wide range. Growing up, there was a lot of flamenco played in my house. I love Paco de Lucía and the Gypsy Kings. So it was that kind of stuff. I’m a huge Eric Clapton fan. I think today—nowadays—I would say that John Mayer is kind of someone I really look up to, and I love his music. I love Stevie Ray Vaughn, as well… Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, so yeah, all those kind of guys.

When you first started performing, did you play a lot of cover songs, or has it always been an original thing for you?
MB: I think my first gig, I remember, was at a place called the Rugby Club in Guildford, England, and we played about half and half. It was about half our own songs and then we did some covers as well. So usually, the set was about six originals and six covers as well.

Have a sweet weekend All!! More soon! 😉 xxx

Pure DWTS – DWTS Media Tidbits For Hump Day!

Just a few things to share today! First up, Carrie Ann was interviewed about her new hour long TV drama on ABC called “Grace” by Popstop which premieres in May. “We’re going to take them [the audience] into the studio and show a little bit more about the dancer’s life”, Carrie Ann comments. This is sounding really good so far in my opinion.

Did any of you see Louis’ tweets lastnight? He tweeted he had a meeting at the CBS lot(where they film the show) and then he tweeted this…

Feb. 18th is coming right up, Guys, and hopefully, we will find out which pros will be dancing. 🙂

People.com has a new article with Cheryl up today in promotion for her new book “Dancing Lessons” being released in February. She discusses a little about being molested. Here is an excerpt from the on-line story. More in the new issue of PEOPLE on news stands Friday.

“I’m telling my story,” says Burke, 26, who opens up about the molestation – and other struggles, including physical abuse by two former boyfriends – in her new book Dancing Lessons, (coauthored by PEOPLE senior writer Monica Rizzo). “They’re not secrets. There’s no shame.”

Burke’s abuser was a retired mailman who was trusted and well liked in Burke’s Bay Area community. He would sometimes pick Burke up from school and do odd jobs around her home. The assaults began when she was 5.

After he was accused of targeting other children, Burke acknowledged her own abuse. But, still reeling from her parents’ split when she was a baby, she was wracked with confusion.

“I felt guilty for wanting his love and affection,” she says, calling testifying against him “the hardest thing I’ve ever done … I saw his face and lawyers were asking me these questions and I was like, ‘What am I doing? Did he even do anything wrong?’ ”

Eventually, with the man in prison and years of therapy, Burke came to see just how wrong her abuser was.

Now, with season 12 of DWTS beginning in March, Burke is ready to tell her story. “If I can help just one person,” she says, “for me that’s all that matters.”

There have been some new “Footloose” movie stills released at Fused Film. You can see one of them below of Julianne. More at the link.

I’m excited for this new remake. So, do you remember where you saw the original “Footloose” movie? I remember seeing it at the time of it’s release in Cheyenne, Wy. I liked it, but, not as much as Flashdance and Dirty dancing. How about you?

Ok, that is all for now. More soon!! xxx 😉
