Pure DWTS – DWTS Media Tidbits For Hump Day!

Just a few things to share today! First up, Carrie Ann was interviewed about her new hour long TV drama on ABC called “Grace” by Popstop which premieres in May. “We’re going to take them [the audience] into the studio and show a little bit more about the dancer’s life”, Carrie Ann comments. This is sounding really good so far in my opinion.

Did any of you see Louis’ tweets lastnight? He tweeted he had a meeting at the CBS lot(where they film the show) and then he tweeted this…

Fun casual meeting. Around feb 18!!!!!I’ll find out
@LouisVanAmstel
Louis Van Amstel

Feb. 18th is coming right up, Guys, and hopefully, we will find out which pros will be dancing. :)

People.com has a new article with Cheryl up today in promotion for her new book “Dancing Lessons” being released in February. She discusses a little about being molested. Here is an excerpt from the on-line story. More in the new issue of PEOPLE on news stands Friday.

“I’m telling my story,” says Burke, 26, who opens up about the molestation – and other struggles, including physical abuse by two former boyfriends – in her new book Dancing Lessons, (coauthored by PEOPLE senior writer Monica Rizzo). “They’re not secrets. There’s no shame.”

Burke’s abuser was a retired mailman who was trusted and well liked in Burke’s Bay Area community. He would sometimes pick Burke up from school and do odd jobs around her home. The assaults began when she was 5.

After he was accused of targeting other children, Burke acknowledged her own abuse. But, still reeling from her parents’ split when she was a baby, she was wracked with confusion.

“I felt guilty for wanting his love and affection,” she says, calling testifying against him “the hardest thing I’ve ever done … I saw his face and lawyers were asking me these questions and I was like, ‘What am I doing? Did he even do anything wrong?’ ”

Eventually, with the man in prison and years of therapy, Burke came to see just how wrong her abuser was.

Now, with season 12 of DWTS beginning in March, Burke is ready to tell her story. “If I can help just one person,” she says, “for me that’s all that matters.”

There have been some new “Footloose” movie stills released at Fused Film. You can see one of them below of Julianne. More at the link.

I’m excited for this new remake. So, do you remember where you saw the original “Footloose” movie? I remember seeing it at the time of it’s release in Cheyenne, Wy. I liked it, but, not as much as Flashdance and Dirty dancing. How about you?

Ok, that is all for now. More soon!! xxx ;)

Pure DWTS – More Ballroom Twists, Rumors, Japan, Horses, and More

Monday Monday!! What’s up? We need our show back for this day, don’t we? :)

In a few things to share today, check out Edyta and Alec in this new “Ballroom With A Twist” interview from KTLA (posted by Edyta at her twitter).

Below is a picture of Jonathon and Anna at the “Ballroom With A Twist” Red Carpet last week. You can see pictures of Niecy, Louis, Edyta, and Alec too in cool gallery >>> HERE. They all look incredible.

“Ballroom With a Twist” is getting some great reviews. Check out this excerpt from Grigware. They are giving it 5 stars! The link is featuring some cool pics too and note how Randall Christensen (DWTS costume designer) designed the costumes.

Nash, known to TV audiences from Clean House, is one funny lady who is not afraid to go out on a limb and dances, as she did on Dancing with the Stars – not without whining – with partner, smooth Van Amstel, until she literally drops to the floor. In true diva style she takes mic in mind while still on the floor panting and motions for one of the dancers to help her to her feet. It’s a priceless moment. Van Amstel’s stamina is truly amazing! This company of dancers, in fact, all have sensational stamina and dexterity and are perhaps the prettiest group of people to be seen on a Hollywood stage. Scantily clad for many numbers, guys shirtless and gals showing plenty of leg and midriff, they create eye candy galore. It is surely not in vain that the opening song is Burt Bacharach’s “The Look of Love”, atmosphere which suits the entire sexy entourage. Featured dancers from Dancing With the Stars include: Alec Mazo, Jonathan Roberts, Edyta Sliwinska and Anna Trebunskaya, all demonstrating consistently terrific moves.

Twist shows the new spin on dancing which began with the TV show’s phenomenal presentation of the waltz, tango, merengue, samba, salsa, etc boldly executed with lots of acrobatic moves. It makes the dancers exciting – no, chilling – to watch. An added surprise in the stage show which comes in Act II is a dance lesson for and with the audience, taught by Van Amstel. Yep, folks, you’ll get up and shake your booty. If I can do it, so can you! Fun, fun, fun!

Edyta posted this picture at her twitter account of her and Alec. It was taken before the “Fever” performance with Jonathan and Anna.

So now The Mirror is really getting on my nerves again. They’ve reported that Derek has quit the show (to spend more time with Cheryl). Yeah right! I’ll believe it when I see it. When will they ever stop with all the rumors already? It’s pathetic how they won’t leave him or Cheryl alone.

BESOTTED Derek Hough is planning to quit the hit American TV show Dancing With The Stars – so he can spend more time with girlfriend Cheryl Cole.

Derek, 25, has told friends he wants to leave the US version of Strictly Come Dancing to be at Cheryl’s side when she moves to Los Angeles in the spring.

Filming for the new series, in which Derek is current champion, starts in March – the same time Cheryl, 27, is due to move to the US to start work as a judge on the American X Factor.

A friend said: “Derek is keen to move on. He has won the show three times and thinks it is time for a change. And he wants to be there to help Cheryl settle into her new life.”

In other news on Derek, not sure what’s up, but Julianne just posted this tweet while I was writing this post up which makes me wonder on the rumor from the Mirror above now? But, my bet is that Derek and Julianne won’t be away in China too long. So, what do you think this new project could be about?

@OfficialDHough and I are doing a project in Hong kong, we start practicing today… Can’t wait… I haven’t danced with him in over 1.5 yrs
@juliannehough
Julianne Hough

Lastly, Cheryl hosted the Joe Barry Memorial Cup Finals in Florida over the weekend. Startrack has a great Gallery of her at the event you won’t want to miss seeing. Here is a picture she tweeted too. Dad, I know. I’ve made your day.

Ok, that is all for now Dancettes. Have a super day!! xxxx ;)

Pure DWTS – More Weekend DWTS Media (New Photos, Videos & More)

Hey, check out this new fun picture of Kym!! As you can see, she lit up the Australia Open on Friday. Some details below in a take from 10balls.com. (Novak Djokovic a DWTS contestant in the making maybe? How cool would that be? I’d love to see it. :D )

So, when Kym Johnson of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ fame – she was David Hasselhoff’s partner last season – happened to mention that she had tickets for Friday, she was asked if she wouldn’t mind bringing one of spangly frocks and maybe teaching a player a few moves. Out on Court 16. It was a match made in heaven: Kym and Novak (Novak Djokovic) strutting their stuff in the summer sunshine.

Kym put Djoko through his paces, teaching him the cha-cha-cha, while he showed off his muscles with a few lifts. Encouraged to take his shirt off by one of the photographers (and, really, it doesn’t take much to get Novak to get his kit off), he was happily swirling Kym around as if he had been practising this dancing lark for years. According to Kym, Novak is a fast learner. According to the look on Novak’s face, Kym could ask him to dance any time she liked. He even gave her a tennis lesson and Kym even managed to hit a ball or two. In a quiet week, Kym and Novak (hang on, wasn’t she a film star?) brightened up the Open nicely.

Lacey and Cheryl were in Florida this past week to help Christen the new “Disney Dream” cruise ship. Here they are visiting Pink, the ship’s “chic, champagne-inspired” lounge. I have to say I am liking Lacey’s new hair color a lot.

Also, featured below is a new professional shot of Lacey. She recently had some cool photos taken by “Cean One Photography“. You can see more of this shoot at her Twitter account.

Speaking of cool photo shoots, Peta has done an amazing spread for Brendan Vale Courture. Beautiful and I have a feeling John will love her hair. :)

Mark has been posting fan pictures as he tours for his new album “HurtLoveBox”. Here’s one taken of him and Chelsie at Mohegan Sun Pocono Downs on Jan. 19th (Courtesy of fan Cindy Krumpet). You can see more pics at his Facebook page.

And here they are being interviewed and dancing….

Edyta tweeted a picture of Alec, Anna, and Jonathon at a coffee shop between their two “Ballroom With A Twist” performances yesterday.

Here is Anna and Edyta before the second show.

Louis also tweeted a “cast” picture right after the show.

Thanks Louis and Edyta. As reported earlier, Ballroom With A Twist began it’s run in Los Angeles, CA. Friday night. Details and ticket information at the link.

Derek was interviewed at MSA Celebration this week. He was asked about who he’d like to see on the show. They throw out some names but he’s not sure who they are. lol

Lastly, if you’d like to read about Brooke’s take on her and Derek’s “Mirror Ball Trophey” story, go HERE to read an excerpt out of her new book “The Naked Mom”. Thanks to twitter friend @georgiagirlatl and @dwtsgossip for this tip.

Ok, more soon. Be good! ;) xxx

DWTS – Rumors, Rumors, And Even More Rumors! Or Is It Official – Yeah Right!

Well, I have to laugh. I just ran onto this new article at The Telewatcher who claim they know some of the dance contestants for Season 12. I did a quick search for anything “official” for where they might be getting this news and there’s nothing out there…..nada…..not even a hint at some of the big names that are listed. “TOO” BIG if you ask me for this to sound realistic?? But, hey.

Courtney Cox, the actress will be dancing for our eyes this year, everyone loves Friends!

Elle Macpherson is best known as a super model to most of us, but is actually also an actress and buiseness woman.

Tina Fey, an actress from hit comedy 30 Rock will be dancing this year.

Cheryl Cole is a singer from the UK, and also judges the X Factor in England, a show which Simon Cowell has just set up in America.

Vince Vaughn is a great actor that most of us should know!

Rob Lowe is an american actor who’s been in things such as ‘Waynes World’ and ‘The Outsiders’, and actually look’s a bit like Zac Efron!

And if that wasn’t bad enough, Associated Content recycled what the Telewatcher wrote with an exception they are adding even more to the list. See below.

…Cher’s name has been mentioned, also. The hype is not in yet as to who the others may be definitely. Other suggestions have been Alec Baldwin, Al Yankovich, Cynthia Ann Nixon, and even Dr. Phil. It is hard to believe that Cher would consider doing the show, with all of her other accomplishments such as her choreographed numbers for her shows.

Wait! They forgot Madonna and Brad Pitt. 8O I’m sorry, but, I can’t see Cher doing the show either not that I wouldn’t love that possibility.

Heidi: I told Vogue that if she was going to post this she had to mock. She did a great job, I’m thinking. :-) Let’s be real here – does anyone believe that ANYONE on this list other than Cheryl Cole is even remotely likely to be on Season 12?? Of course, if it turns out to be true we will look like idiots – but that’s a risk I’m willing to take. :-) Now, Al?? That has some potential.

What about the possibilty of political guru, AL SHARPTON? Thanks to Pure DWTS reader Maddy for this heads up from the New York Post.

GOOD dancer Al Sharpton, so publicity shy, might forsake even another story about him to be on “Dancing With the Stars” . . .

Ewww, not sure on Al. I have a feeling I wouldn’t know whether to laugh or cry watching him if this were true? lol

Ok, so my head is spinning. ;) xxx

DWTS – Making Age Cracks Is Not Nice and More Fun DWTS Media In The News

Hi All!!!! How are you? Just a few things to share. First, Derek has a big day. He’s filming his role on “Better With You” today. Joanna Garcia (the female lead) tweeted a picture of the two practicing. Thanks to Heidi and Pure Derek Hough for this information. You can see some new HOT pics of him at the link. :)

Tony is golfing in the Bob Hope Classic today as well and has made it to the 3rd round. My Desert has a fun interview up with him. Check out how he use to babysit Derek when he was little. I liked what he said about “ringers”. He is also asked about Season 12. Much more at the link.

On Dancing with the Stars, you’re the professional who is working with amateurs. Out here, the tables are turned. Are you getting nervous? Can you sympathize with your dance partners?
I hope my dance partners show up with as much dedication as I have for golf.

I like the tables being turned.
The pressure is not on me. I just have a good time. This is a beautiful, beautiful place. I wish I could take this weather back with me to Connecticut. I think you guys in Palm Springs definitely have an edge.

Yeah, the winters here are much nicer.
Except for July and August. I think those two months, I wouldn’t want to be here.
It’s not just two months brother.
Oh, it’s more than that?

It gets very hot. You said there’s no pressure on you, but it’s before the first tee.
It’s before the first tee. But the thing is, for me, it’s about having a good time. I’m out here in nature. I’m not one of the pros. There’s no pressure for me to perform. I just have to hit the ball. But I’m an 8 handicap, so I should hit it pretty well.

You’ve had a great run, 10 seasons on Dancing with the Stars with partners like Kathy Ireland …
Yeah, Kathy Ireland, I had Jane Seymour, Susan Lucci, Leeza Gibbons.

It almost sounds like the cast for Cougartown.
I know right, but I also had Audrina Patridge and Stacy Keibler, Melissa Rycroft. I’ve been paired up with every range as far as age goes, and I’ve enjoyed every single one of them. Every season, I have a different story that develops with me. Where some of the other people have the same story. I’ve been lucky to meet so many wonderful people and they all remain friends.

What’s up with this guy Derek always getting paired up with the ringer?
Derek (Hough) is a talented individual. I used to babysit him when he was a kid.
You babysit them?Well, by the pool when they were 8. Whatever you want to call it, but they are good kids and I wish nothing but the greatest thing for them. When they win, I feel like a part of me won.

But come on. you don’t wish you got the ringer so you can win the title?
I don’t ever wish that. I enjoyed every person I had. For me to wish I had the ringer means I didn’t enjoy every person that I had. Honestly, the professional part, I won two world championships. I accomplished my goals. This is all gravy.

So any sneak peeks at the next season? Here’s a little inside tip of what we go through. We don’t know who we get until they walk into that ballroom.

So you don’t know who your partner is until then?Yeah, so all the reactions are tamed down. If it’s bad, we’re not going to say anything. And if it’s good, we’re still not going to say anything because we don’t know how good good is.

Louis was on Good Morning America today to discuss his new dance and fitness class “La Blast”. I couldn’t agree more about how “dancing” is the best workout. Not only that, it is FUN!!

For those Maks fans, there is a new Russian article on Maks and his filming of The Bachelor in the Ukraine at Media Nanny. Even taking it to a transaltion site, I’m having a hard time understanding it (HELP! lol). But, it appears the show is still in production and is currently being shot in the Canary Islands. Be sure to read the link for more and to see some really nice pictures of Maks and some of the beautiful locations where he’s been staying. Thanks to Twitter friend Wonton12 for the heads up this news.

Ok, that is all for now. I leave you with this video I ran onto at the Colleen Zenk Facebook page of her dancing on “As The World Turns”. She is good. I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if she is picked to do the show this season. She’s now up to 10,302 fans in support of her to do the show at Facebook and now they are shooting for “20,000”.

People really shouldn’t make “age” cracks like that, should they? I don’t think so or they will regret it.

Have a great weekend. ;) xxx

DWTS Season 12 – Lorenzo Lamas On Dancing With The Stars Shortlist (VIDEO)

I’ll let the video from Rumorfix do the talkin’! :)

The father of six tells RumorFix he’s close to landing a spot on Dancing with the Stars. “I’m on a short list over there, but I haven’t signed any papers whatsoever. I really would love to do the show, but it’s really up to the audience out there,” Lamas revealed.

The Leave it to Lamas reality star tells RumorFix he’s hoping his fans will head over to the “DWTS” website to help get him cast. “If I get enough votes then they can’t argue with that.”

If Lamas makes the cut, he’s already decided who he wants to square off against. “Sugar Ray Leonard. He’s a friend of mine; I’d love to see him do that show. [The Dukes of Hazzard’s] John Schneider too.”

We’re not sure either of those guys will be busting a move on the show’s 12th season, but one name being floated is Todd Palin. Asked about rumors he might have to compete against Sarah Palin’s hubby, Lamas laughed.” Well, it worked for Bristol, why not Todd? I don’t know. The show needs to find some controversy to keep the viewership up and I get that.”

And to you ABC executives out there, just in case you didn’t hear him the first time, Lamas says, “I would just love to be on the show, if it should work out!”

I’m unable to embed the link, but here is another video of Lorenzo and Donna D’Errico campaigning to do the show at TMZ. Go >>>> HERE!!!!

Interesting. Very very interesting! I’m going to ABC.com right now and VOTE some more. ;)

Pure DWTS Media-“Don’t say anything and don’t think, and don’t move until you feel it”

A few new media things to share in a second, but, we have a question first: what are some of your most favorite or most memorable dancing scenes from a movie? Stay tuned. I’ll tell you my pick at the end of this post. ;)

So, first up….here is a fun video with Tony and Joy Behar discussing their experience doing “Miss America” last week (is it just me or has Tony lost some weight in the off season? he’s look really great). I thought it was a good show and the judges did a super job this time.

If you haven’t heard yet, TV Guide is reporting Derek is joining Larry King in a new March episode of ABC’s “Better With You”. He’s been cast to play a dancing instructor named Phillip. Won’t that be fun?

Joining Larry King in a March episode of ABC’s Better With You will be another acting novice trying his hand at comedy. Popular Dancing With the Stars pro Derek Hough has been cast to play a dancing instructor named Phillip.

After realizing bride-to-be Mia (JoAnna Garcia) has two left feet in Phillip’s dance class rehearsals for their first wedding dance, Mia’s fiancé Casey (Josh Cooke) purposely tanks to make her look better for the group.

For those (like myself) who were hoping Edyta might be back this season to dance, I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon. Here’s what she tweeted to someone at twitter.

@TheMovieGirl1 Really? True I don’t want to do the show anymore but DWTS will akways be part of my life. And I’m always gonna be from there
@Edyta_Sliwinska
Edyta Sliwinska

Ok, that’s it for now. So here is one of my most favorite dance scenes from a movie and I can’t wait to hear on yours. From “Shall We Dance”;

Does this make you miss our show even more? Oops. sorry. lol ;) xx

Pure DWTS News Updates – Carrie Anne, Derek, Maks, Mark, Tony & More!!!

What have we got here? First, ABC has approved a new drama series called “Grace” which will premiere in May. Carrie Ann is said to be one of the master minds behind the new one hour show. Here is a take from EW.

The second one is dubbed Grace, a one-hour from Krista Vernoff (Grey’s Anatomy) and Carrie Ann Inaba (yep, that Inaba from Dancing with the Stars) that focuses on a dysfunctional family set in the world of professional dance. We trust it will boast a generous sequin budget and, with any luck, a cameo or two by Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

I don’t know about you, but this is sounding very cool to me so far.

This past Wednesday night Derek and Julianne showed up together for the Bvlgari Private Event honoring Simon Fuller And Paul Haggis benefitting “Save The Children” And “Artists For Peace And Justice“. You can see them below. More pictures >>> HERE. Thanks to Heidi and Pure Derek Hough for this news.

Speaking of, Maks has set himself up for some teasing when he sees Derek next time. Read what Derek told Mark Malkim of E Online at the benefit. lol

“I’m going to give him hell when I see him,” says fellow pro dancer Derek Hough.

Why? Because, as you may have heard, Maksim is the new Bachelor—in the Ukraine…

“I’m not going to lie,” Hough told me last night at the Bulgari benefit for Save the Children and Artists for Peace and Justice. “When I first found out, I was very surprised and kind of found it funny.

“Well, not funny, but I know Maks,” he continued. “It was like, ‘You’re going to do the Bachelor? And in the Ukraine?’ ”

Hough said he hopes Chmerkovskiy, who was once engaged to DWTS’ Karina Smirnoff, does find love in his native country. “But when I see him,” he laughed, “I’m going to be like, ‘Dude, you and [former Bachelor and DWTS celeb competitor] Jake Pavelka are in the same club now! Is there a clubhouse you go to? Do you have like Bachelor jackets, too?’ “

As most of you know, Tony is a judge for Miss America which is airing Saturday night on ABC (not last Saturday night like I made a mistake in telling you last week.). In a news conference, Tony talks about the first Miss America he saw crowned and what his life was like when he was younger in Yugoslavia (I didn’t realize he lost so much family when he was young. :( ).

Dovolani was a pre-teen Albanian when he began watching the Miss America broadcasts in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo of the former Yugoslavia.

When Miss America was crowned, “I thought she was like Mother Teresa,” said Dovolani. Mother Teresa, the Catholic nun who won the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize for her work with slum children in India, was part Albanian and part Indian. She died at age 87 in 1997.

Dovolani was 12 and took part in armed defense efforts when Serbs began the expulsion of more than 100,000 Albanians in Pristina in the 1980s.

“They were trying to take away our language,” said Dovolani, who was 16 and carrying a machine gun the day his family fled for Italy.

Thirty-six of his relatives died during the conflict: “17 young adults, and the rest were women and children,” he said.

Dovolani, who became a naturalized U.S. citizen in the last year, said he was honored when asked to serve as a Miss America judge.

With the promotion of his new album this week, Mark gave The Day an interview on the phone. He discusses his new music and his dancing. Here is a little take from that interview. There is much more at the link.

On the first day of rehearsal, Bristol Palin couldn’t even walk in high heels. So how did Ballas get someone who was starting at ground zero to improve?

“Lots of hard work and patience and communication and making it fun. You can’t make this unenjoyable for someone who’s never done it. You have to take care of them and make sure they’re having a great time. We got along really well, and I love her to death, she’s awesome. She’a great person.”

The “Dancing with the Stars” pros have to work with celebs who possess a wide range of experience and abilities, so choreographing requires an ability to analyze and adjust:

“Well, you have to kind of see what feels natural to them, what they don’t look awkward doing, too. Everything kind of comes in groups, so there’s rhythm groups, turning groups, moving groups. Bristol looked great when she was moving – like in tango, she could cover a lot of ground, and in paso, she could cover a lot of ground. We would never do anything that was too, you know, turny, just because that wasn’t something that she took to as easily as everything else. She had a great sense of timing, and she would retain really well. You have to see what looks good on them and what looks awkward and just try to avoid anything awkward.”

While on his promotional tour, Mark also stopped at Howland Middle School in Howland, Ohio to talk to the students there about ‘achieving their dreams’. With the spotlight being “teen bullying” here is what WYTV reports.

“When I was younger, I used to get a little stick at school because I was a dancer, but it never stopped me,” said Ballas. “I think it’s important that kids believe and enjoy what they do without having to constantly look over their shoulder, know what I mean?”

Ok, that is all for now. Have a safe and super weekend out there!!! If you haven’t done so yet, please take a look at the serious contenders for the upcoming season in the new posts below. Lorenzo Lamas? *fans self and passes out anyway* :)

DWTS Season 12 Cast Rumor (Sorta) – Tony Robbins!

I don’t know enough about this guy to determine if he’s being serious or if he’s just kidding – he would be an interesting choice for sure. He’s one of the very few people that Derek actually follows, and I think a few other pros do as well.  His Official Web Site —-> Tony Robbins Of course, he claims that QVC is his limit – but we’ve heard that before haven’t we.  ;-)

Dancing with the Stars wants me 4 new season..Banana Hands & dancing!-- I can't torture the TV audience that much- QVC is my limit! LOL

DWTS Season 12 Cast Rumors – Lorenzo Lamas and Donna D’Errico

TMZ is reporting that DWTS wants Lorenzo Lamas (Renegade) and Donna D’Errico (Baywatch) and is “locked in negotiations:

Dancing with the Stars” execs are currently locked in negotiations to bring a “Renegade” and a “Baywatch” babe to the ballroom next season … TMZ has learned.

Sources connected with the show tell us Lorenzo Lamas and Donna D’Errico have been contacted by the DWTS people … and are “in talks” about a possible deal.

TMZ’s source claims that the producers are actually paying attention to the voting process they started on their website. We’ll see if any of those people actually make it on to the show. :-)
