Ballroom With A Twist Cast Teaches Dance Moves: “Most fun I’ve had in a long time!” (Fan Comments, Interview, Pics)

Aren’t these some great photos from “Ballroom With A Twist”? Cheryl Burke posted them at her Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook this week. The show is receiving some positive reviews out there. For instance, fan Pamela Mayfield tweeted that seeing the show was the most fun she’s had in a long time. She also said the cast taught the audience some dances moves and got them dancing. You can also read a new interview with Anna Trebunskaya at Akron.com. Too fun! If you haven’t got tickets to this fun show, see this link. I’m loving this dress…

ETA: Cheryl was also interviewed by KATV about the show. Thanks to DWTSgossip for this find…

Thanks to @idolxfactor1 for being so speedy with getting this video to us. Be sure to follow him at twitter!! Photo above courtesy of @GMA twitter.

Dancing With The Stars Live Tour Review From The Wall Street Journal, Fun Video By Sasha Farber, And Other News

The Wall Street Journal reviewed the Dancing With The Stars Live Tour. They saw the show this past Sunday.

Speaking of music, the audience was treated to the musical stylings of some of the pros, including Ballas on guitar with Dylan Chambers and Chmerkovskiy on violin. Carson had her own cute musical moment involving an instrument nearly the size of her entire body.

Ribeiro and Carson said audience participation would be a component of the tour, and Sunday didn’t disappoint. Chmerkovskiy made the life of the preteen girl behind us by dancing with her in the aisle, and Johnson coached some husbands and sons in the art of dance. On stage. With props. (At the other Red Bank show, Chmerkovskiy danced with the father of Season 19 runner-up Sadie Robertson. What will NYC bring?)

With the elimination of Tuesday’s results show, we lose the opportunity to see the pros dance together except in giant group numbers or 15-second bumpers around commercial breaks. The tour gives audience members the chance to see the pros in different pairings, with the most-common ones being Ballas/Carson, Chmerkovskiy/Slater and Motsepe/Johnson. (This would seem to be for height reasons.)

After several seasons with conservative partners such as Robertson and Candace Cameron Bure, Ballas let loose in a funky, steamy love triangle with Carson and Chmerkovskiy set to Ed Sheeran’s “Don’t” just after intermission. And producers, can we PLEASE get Slater a young, decent dancer as a partner for Season 20? She had chemistry aplenty with Chmerkovskiy in a samba, Farber in a jive and Motsepe in a contemporary-like rumba (the latter accompanied by Ballas and Chambers with an acoustic version of the Cure’s “Love Song”).

Some things you can’t appreciate as well on TV include the muscle definition, especially in the ladies’ legs; the circular fans pointed up on stage to make the women’s hair blow around sexily when they’re performing (Ribeiro had an entertaining moment or two in front of one of them); and famous people in the audience — we were across the aisle from former Chmerkovskiy partner Sherri Shepherd.

Chmerkovskiy, who is Ukrainian-born but grew up in Brooklyn and currently lives in New Jersey, said this segment of the tour was like coming home. He told the audience that while people in Los Angeles can’t ever place his accent because they know he’s from another country, they can’t figure out the Jersey piece. “I’m Russian, but we all sound Italian – how you doin’?”

After Sunday’s entertainment, we’re doin’ just fine.

More at the Wall Street Journal .

In other tour news, it appears Janel Parrish will not be doing the tour after all.

And finally, how about a new video below by Sasha Farber? This is so fun…

Dancing Pros Live “National tour truly highlights the “stars” – Review, Photos

The Souix City Journal is good about reviewing dance shows when they come to town and this is no different for “Dancing Pros Live“!! Read on for a little take from the link. You know where to go for more. Photos below courtesy of Karina and Edyta’s instagrams. Beautiful!

But this national tour truly highlights the “stars” – those incredibly talented professional dancers who show off their own style and athleticism in this live dancing competition.

The show was hosted by “DWTS” veteran Edyta Sliwinska and Alan Thicke, star of the television show “Growing Pains,” and — for you younger readers – the father of singer Robin Thicke.

Professional dancers from “DWTS,” “So You Think You Can Dance” and dance champions from around the world competed with one another in a variety of dance styles, including cha-cha, waltz, tango, swing and jitterbug, to name a few.

The evening was a mix of breathtaking dance, fun backstage stories and some impressive vocals from Holly Tucker, a finalist on “The Voice.”

Although the outcome is determined by the folks in the seats, three judges provided insights. “DWTS” pro Karina Smirnoff and choreographer Oscar Orosco were the national touring judges. Each competition also invites a local judge to assist, and that honor went to KTIV-TV news anchor Matt Breen.

New Dancing With The Stars Live Tour Interviews With Keo Motsepe And Val Chmerkovskiy

Awww, this is such a great interview with That’s Your Reality and pro Keo Motsepe! I wish we heard more from him. What a big and gentle heart he has and so humble and thankful to be dancing. I love what he said about Emma and what happened after their Rumba on tour…

Also, Cleveland.com interviewed Val Chmerkovskiy. In the take below, Val talks of the differences between dancing live on the show versus the when he dances on tour. Be sure to read the link for the full interview.

“The live show is awesome. It’s very interactive for both us and fans of the show, who can see us live and get more of a sense about who we are and even ask questions. . . . So many times, a fan will come up to me and say, ‘You inspired me to get up and dance and do something with my life.’ ”

As an artist, Chmerkovskiy says the live format is inspiring to him, too.

“When we do the TV show it’s live, but there are times you have to be thinking about the camera, and to be honest, that’s not when I am my best. That’s why this tour is such a blessing. You get to be onstage and have this immediate interaction with the audience. The more energy they give ne, I give them back. You don’t get that reaction with a camera.

“For me, I feel like a superhero onstage. These are the people who made the show No. 1 in the world and gave me a platform, and I can’t wait to give them the best they’ve ever seen from me.”

That includes the shirt off his back.

“On a lighter note,” Chmerkovskiy adds with a laugh, “I take off my shirt during the show. A lot.”

Derek Hough Bowing Out Of Dancing With The Stars Season 20, New Lead Role In Radio Music Hall Show

I have to say… I don’t blame Derek Hough for bowing out of Dancing With The Stars this season with a new exciting role such as this. CONGRATULATIONS DEREK!! But, we are so going to miss you!!! (adding: still hoping for atleast an appearance on Dancing With The Stars of some type?)

From People….

Five-time winner Derek Hough has to bow out of the next installment of the ABC show because he’ll play the male lead in New York Spring Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall this spring.

Debuting in March, the limited, seven-week engagement will feature Hough as Jack, a man with a special mission who will receive an eternal reward if he’s able to help a man named Bernie keep his position as a New York City tour guide. Bernie’s job is in jeopardy when Jenna (Nashville’s Laura Benanti) reveals her plan to take the tour company “virtual.”

More details at People and Pure Derek Hough. Also, don’t miss seeing Derek pictured at the Golden Globes After Parties at Pure Derek Hough as well.

ETA: See this link for TICKETS to the Previews (March 12-25th) and the Show itself (March 25th to May 3rd).

Dancing With The Stars Karina Smirnoff Engaged To Jason Adelman

The Star is reporting Dancing With The Stars Karina Smirnoff is engaged to be married. Being this news is coming from a tabloid, I wasn’t sure whether it could be true? However if you go to Jason’s Facebook, friends are sending them congratulations like the link says. So, could this be true?

She may not have won the Mirror Ball trophy on Dancing With the Stars last season…but things are going pretty great for Karina Smirnoff! Star can exclusively reveal that the pro dancer’s boyfriend, Jason Adelman, popped the question over the weekend.

“Karina is thrilled and the two couldn’t be more in love!” an insider reveals. “From the moment they met, Karina has been head over heels.”

Although the couple have been dating less than a year, it seems they just couldn’t wait to tie the knot — Jason got down on one knee Saturday night, in front of friends and family, and they celebrated afterward by dancing together. Later, Jason updated his Facebook page with a new photo of the pair, and his friends confirmed the engagement by leaving congratulatory messages.

Such a cute couple! Congratulations to Karina and Jason if this news is true!!

ETA: Radar Online is reporting Jason bought Karina a 5-Carat Emerald-Cut Ring!
