This is kind of random so not sure how much credence this mention should receive (and Hines most likely doesn’t know more than anyone else?), but, in a new radio interview with WCNN in Atlanta, Hines Ward mentions hearing rumors that LA Laker, Ron Artest, and Miami Heat player, Dwyane Wade, are dancing on Dancing With The Stars this season. He doesn’t mention much except this…
“I don’t know, but I did hear rumors and his name did come up. I also heard Ron Artest too.”
If you scroll down to the bottom of the page at this link, you can hear the audio interview in full where Hines mentions Ron Artest and Dwyane Wade. I just checked Dwyane’s twitter. There is a tweet where he mentions taking dance lessons recently. Apparently, they are for a new movie he’s starring in called ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’.
Just a little quick update on the rumored celebrities to dance. E Online is reporting on the David Arquette, Chaz Bono, Rob Kardashian, and Elisabetta Canalis rumors today. However, nothing can be “confirmed”. A show rep told them. “We will unveil the cast this coming Monday night live during Bachelor Pad on ABC.” They were also told there is atleast one more controversial contestant and far more controversial than the names listed at the link. Here’s a take….
We are hearing rumblings that David Arquette and Chaz Bono have signed on; however, nothing can be confirmed at this point. A show rep tells us: “We will unveil the cast this coming Monday night live during Bachelor Pad on ABC.”
Rob Kardashian (brother of newlywed Kim) is also rumored to be a part of the cast.
And we first reported the rumor that George Clooney’s ex, Elisabetta Canalis would be competing for the disco ball trophy.
We are also told there is at least one more controversial contestant—far more controversial than the names listed above. Hmmm!
Will you be watching this season of Dancing with the Stars when it begins Sept. 13? For the record, we are in.
More controversial than Chaz or David? Who do you think it might be? Take a guess and let us know what you think in the comment section.
Ok, I’ll take a guess that it’s Ann Coulter! Ewww, but, I hope not! lol 😯
Heh. Courtney guessed a housewife…but perhaps from the wrong town?? 🙂 From Celebbuzz:
Celebuzz has learned that Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards will be on Dancing with the Stars this season.
A source tells us that she is confirmed and has been rehearsing in the studio. After a rough year, it looks like she’s on the road to a resurgence and recovery!
Kim, who stars on RHOBH with her sister Kyle Richards, is a former child star who appeared in numerous Disney films such as Escape to Witch Mountain. She also appeared on a slew of TV shows such as Dukes of Hazzard and The Love Boat.
Ok, so remember before reading this news that TMZ hasn’t been reliable lately and yet, you have to wonder if this isn’t true since they’ve seen these two together (David Arquette and Kym Johnson) at a rehearsal studio today. Hmmm?
David showed up to the rehearsal studio a few minutes ago, to meet his partner for the first time. We’re told he’s hooking up — professionally, in a dancing sort of way — with Kym Johnson.
Well, not sure what to make of these two tweets for now, but, two radio DJs are reporting Henry Winkler as a possible contender to dance on Dancing With The Stars. We mentioned Henry Winkler in July as possibly dancing. But, in a recent Hollywood Reporter article at the time, he said he’d never do the show and “not with someone else’s legs.” He said he might do it though if Ron Howard was his partner. LOL!! So, has Henry possibly changed his mind? Note however that Radio DJs aren’t exactly in a big LA market, but, this is so random that we felt like we had to mention it. Note too that the DJ from the second tweet works for a station that recently interviewed Mark Ballas.
Not final yet but Chaz Bono, Rob Kardashian, Kristin Cavallari, Tiffani Thiessen and Henry Winkler all rumored for the next season of DWTS
So, apparently, Entertainment Tonight is saying that Ryan O’Neal has agreed to do the show. I have yet to see this for myself, as ET doesn’t air here until later, for some crazy reason. Ordinarily I would wait until I could get video from ET and post, but then I saw this tweet from a producer/journalist on Twitter and I gave up and decided to post it with the word “innuendo” tacked on just in case:
For those of you not in the know, Ryan is an Academy Award nominated actor (Love Story) and is what could be considered old Hollywood royalty. He was involved with Farrah Fawcett for many, many years, is the father of Tatum O’Neal, who was also on DWTS!!
OKAY! Timing is everything. They just said on ET that Ryan is going to be on the show. They qualified this by saying that DWTS producers won’t confirm, but this is what they hear. They also said he had knee surgery a few months ago.
So, today, we’ve got two tweets that make you wonder. First, check out the tweet below from Lizzie Grubman. I know two of her clients are Maks and Chynna Phillips (a rumored celebrity to be on Dancing With The Stars), but, who is the third? Could it be Maks’ brother Val? If any of you know who else the third client might be, be sure to let us know in the comment section.
You know it almost fall when client A, client B, and client C are leaving for #DWTS13! Woo Hoo!!!!!
Heidi’s Note: The Maks fans say that Maks, Teddy and Val are all on their way to NYC, so it’s very possible that those three are all clients of Lizzie’s. As for what Maks is going to find “sooo different” – it could be that Val will be a pro, but look at his hashtag. Next chapter?? What, did they promote him to producer? 😀 Or is it a next chapter for VAL? And, as Evaine commented on Twitter – since when is Maks the blabby one? 🙂
Regis Philbin only wants one person to fill his seat when he leaves LIVE with Regis And Kelly soon and that is …..Tom Bergeron. But, unless the show moves to Kansas, Tom’s not interested. While on the subject of Tom Bergeron and the rumors he might be dancing, Regis says he won’t be heading to the ballroom either. Here is more in a take from Access Hollywood. These two crack me up!
“I can’t, I work on the West Coast, that show is on the East Coast,” Tom told Access. “If we could maybe do it in Kansas — do everything in Kansas, then I’d be good. Yeah, yeah something like that.”
So while Tom won’t be stepping into Regis’ shoes any time soon, Regis also won’t be crossing over to Tom’s ballroom.
“No, I don’t think so, it’s too much work,” Regis said of those continuing rumors he could head to the “DWTS” competition. “I’ve talked to the people who have been on the show. They’re all banged up, they need new hips, new knees I’ve done that — don’t want to do it again.”
Last night after dancing for Dancing With Me Soho’s production “Ballroom On Broadway” in Manhattan, Val Chmerkovskiy announced his retirement from competitive dancing. Below is a little of what he wrote in an open letter on Dancebeat.com. A very touching and emotional announcement.
To all I care about,
I’m writing this letter to let you know that I have decided to end my competitive dance career. It truly has been an amazing journey for me. I have been so very blessed with the incredible partners that I had the pleasure of growing and competing with. To them I say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Endless gratitude to the coaches that have given me so much, I am forever in debt. The knowledge that was shared with me, throughout the years, is worth more than any trophy I have ever won. The experience I gained from the countless hours of practice and performances, the character I built from the disappointments and failure, alongside with the love I gained for movement, music, and self-expression is something that has shaped me into the man I am today.
I was a 7 year old child when I was dragged against my will into a world of high heels, tight pants, and shiny shirts. I was a 12 year old boy when I went to my first oversees competition (German Open), and was one of only 2 US couples there (my brother being the second). I was a 15 year old adolescent when I won my first IDSF World Championship, and became the first and last American to ever do it… I was a 19 year old “young man” when I had the privilege of lifting the Blackpool trophy, which was an honor I only dreamed about. But as a 23 year old man I was told I couldn’t compete at the Dutch Open. Then as a 24 year old man I was told that I couldn’t compete against some of the best dancers in the world, because of reasons I had no power of influencing. The world I believed in, loved, and was willing to give up my last penny for was changing… and changing for the worse.
You can continue to read his official letter here.
So, what does this mean for Val’s future? Heidi and several of you have speculated in the comment sections that this might mean Val will be coming to Dancing With The Stars Season 13 and that he might be one of the “new faces” that we have been rumored to see. If so, could this be why his brother Maks decided to return for the new season? So many questions surrounding this new Season. Hopefully, we will know more soon and this isn’t the last we see of Val and his dancing career. Pay close attention to the Pro-Watch sticky!
