Louis was a guest on KTLA this morning. Like on The Talk, he talked of LaBlast and praised Kelly Osbourne. He also promotes his LaBlast convention in Los Angeles this upcoming weekend. He also talks a little on Dancing With The Stars. He mentions the pros will find out if they dance on the show on August 22nd. Then they find out who they are partnered with on August 29th like the rest of us. More below…

Remember when we posted about Chelsea Hightower, Peta Murgatroyd, and Tristan MacManus’ trip to Germany to see the troops in June. Well, Zap2it has a fantastic new article up with Chelsie. Not only did these three help the troops morale, the troops helped them as well. Chelsie talks of how inspirational they were and how the experience refocused her “beyond the dance floor” and a “Mirror Ball”. She also mentions a new idea she had of working her USO experience into Dancing With The Stars. I hope producers listen to her. More below. Be sure to read the link to read the full story.
According to Hightower, the moment that impacted her the most was when she got to visit a transport aircraft taking wounded soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan to America after medical treatment in Germany.
“We actually got to stand on the plane,” she says, “as they were loading the passengers up. The wounded warriors were coming on, missing legs and with bullet holes; some of them were hurt by grenades.
“It was amazing to be able to talk to them a little bit. Just those images will remain with me for the rest of my life. That feeling I had, when they were carrying these passengers on, that these guys are giving their lives. They’re risking their lives, every single day, to fight for our country, and how noble that is.”
Hightower has also refocused her gaze on the world beyond the dance floor.
“It’s got me interested in America,” she says, “and what’s going on in politics, what’s going on in the country. It’s so important for people to know that, to know what’s going on.”
She’s also come to appreciate the freedom that has allowed a girl from Orem, Utah, to become a successful ballroom dancer and TV personality.
“I think that was God’s plan all along,” she says, ” to have freedom. To be an American, to live that way, is priceless. That is something I definitely don’t take for granted.”
The cast for this fall’s edition of “Dancing With the Stars” is set to be announced on Aug. 29, with the season premiere airing Sept. 19 on ABC. Performing for the troops made Hightower realize that it’s not just all about the mirror-ball trophy.
“It was cool to get out there,” she says, “and see what appreciation they have for us. We are realizing the people we inspire, as well. For these troops, just to have that escape, to forget about all the craziness they have to deal with on a regular basis, to be able to turn on the TV and watch something that’s lighthearted, takes their minds off it.
“I hope [‘Dancing With the Stars’] does inspire people to get out there, work their butts off and go after their dream. You can’t get by on two hours of practice and do it half-assed, because you’re not going to make it. You’ll get cut pretty quickly. It’s a show about hard work and what hard work can do for you.”
Hightower even has a notion about how to work her USO experience into the show.
“We were talking to a couple of the soldiers out there,” she says, “that we should do a soldier episode or a soldier season. It’d be so cool. So, I’ve been talking to the producers about that a little bit, nudge them, see if they’ll do it.
“Maybe [it could be] a summer special or something. We’ll see if we can do that.”

Yesterday, Louis Van Amstel was a guest on The Talk. Sharon Osbourne not only held the interview, she raved on everything Louis did for her daughter Kelly. She said Kelly was a “lost little girl” before she met Louis and that he turned her into a “woman”. Louis went on to say how much Kelly changed him too. He said Kelly was the “biggest inspiration ever on Dancing With The Stars”. Louis then talked a little of what they went through on Dancing With The Stars. Great interview…and touching as well. You can see part of the interview in the video below. To see the work out/dance part, watch the full episode >>>>here .

Well, let’s see. What have we got here today? Not much really since it’s the off season. But, hey if you are like me, all things count even if it’s a little scrap. lol
So, first of all, it’s Carrie Ann’s 43rd birthday today. So, be sure to send her a little birthday tweet if you get the chance.
Next, ThatsFit.com has a new interview up with Brooke. She looks amazing and has some great advise on how she keeps fit.
Mark Ballas has done a new photoshoot for “Regard Magazine“. Here is some behind the scenes footage of him singing and playing his guitar for the new issue.
Also, Mark was interviewed while in Pittsburg when he was recently performing in “Burn The Floor”. He talks about the benefits of dance and what it can bring to your life.
For all of you Derek lovers like myself and thanks to Heidi and Pure Derek Hough, here is a pic of Derek taken this past week in Cape Town, South Africa with Cheryl Cole. Last week, the tabloids made such a big deal over them having their first public kiss. You would have thought the world as we know it had come to an end and now they have Cheryl wanting his babies. lol Seriously, why won’t let they leave these two be in peace and let them date already? You wouldn’t think it would be that big of deal. And I think they are indeed good enough for each other despite what some tabloids and fans questioning it. I mean….shouldn’t that be up to them and not us anyway?

And is this picture not cute or what? This photo is of Peta and Damian celebrating New Years Eve together in Australia (check it out John. She’s got her blonde locks back. 😉 ). According to Peta’s facebook page, she will be in her homeland of Australia until February. She’s also posted that she won’t hear from DWTS until mid-February. I imagine this might be the case for all the dancers involved with the show?
This is a cool photo too. Maks posted this of himself, his brother Val, and his Dad on twitter over the holidays when they were in St. Maarten.
Ok, that is all for now. But, before wrapping this up, did any of you see Paula Abdul’s new “Live To Dance” show lastnight and did you like it? I didn’t think I’d like it. But, I found myself glued to it for the full two hours. They found some great talent and I loved the other two judges. Very well put together. Paula may just have a winner here?? Though none of these other dance shows will compare to “Dancing With The Stars”. 🙂
Love to All and have a super day or night when you read this!!
xxx
