Dancing With The Stars Week 8 Elimination – And So We Say Good-bye To Romeo Miller (Interviews)

Well, I don’t think any of us could say we weren’t pleasantly surprised with Lil’ Romeo and his dancing this Season. Like Kyle Massey last year, many of us had never heard of Romeo before he was picked to do the show and we ended up liking him and his dancing very much. But, what was really cool is that he never let us forget his causes for dancing. Last night, was no different. He took being eliminated like a class act and again he didn’t want us to forget about how important it is to be a fighter in life and not giving up no matter what. It was a lesson not only for kids, but, for us all. So, here’s to Romeo. I really enjoyed him and his dancing this Season and I’m sure his Dad is proud. Just think, at one time, Romeo and his Dad would never have been seen in a pair of dancing shoes. lol More below when he and Chelsea talk more on their journey on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and Good Morning America today.

Edit to add: Below is George Pennacchio interviewing Romeo and Chelsie as well;

Pure DWTS 2011 – Bristol Palin Has Landed Her Own Reality Show And Did She Have Plastic Surgery?

Ok, so I know I promised no more publicity for Bristol Palin. lol But, this just can’t be helped. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Bristol Palin is about to embark in starting her own Reality Show. BIO has ordered ten half-hour episodes of the yet untitled show which will track Bristol and her son’s move from Alaska to Los Angeles, CA. to work at a small charity and live with the Massey brothers, Kyle (her former Dancing With The Stars competitor) and Chris. Here are some more details from the link which also mentions rumors of Bristol having plastic surgery recently. What do you think? Do you think she had something done and how do you think she looks? Lastly, will you watch Bristol’s new Reality Show and do you think it will be a success? Or do you think it will bomb?

“Bristol is the kind of personality BIO is drawn to,” McKillop said in a statement. “Her personal life has been playing out in the media for several years but this will be the first time she’s opening up her real life, with her son and her friends the Massey Brothers.“

The project is being produced by Associated Television International for BIO. David McKenzie and Jim Romanovich serve as executive producers for Associated Television International. David McKillop, Tom Moody and Andy Berg serve as the executive producers for BIO.

The show is set to air at the end of this year.

Bristol already has plenty of material to work with.

She recently fueled cosmetic surgery rumors by attending a Candie’s Foundation 2011 benefit gala looking thinner and appearing to have an angular jaw line and pronounced chin (she hasn’t commented on numerous reports).

Bristol’s new show also will be a platform for her to raise awareness about the struggles of being a single mother (the boy’s father is tabloid fodder Levi Johnston, who is currently penning a tell-all on the Palin family).

“Well, Tripp was born into a one-parent home…a single-parent home… and it’s difficult for him,” she recently told CBS News. “You know, I don’t have a college education yet. I don’t have a steady job. And it’s difficult for all teen moms, no matter what they’re background is,” she added.

My thoughts: I think Bristol did have something done to her face(chin and cheeks?). I do like the darker hair color on her and the hair extensions. As for this new Reality Show, I think it will bomb like her Mom’s did. And no, I won’t be watching. I also will be disappointed and not think much of her if she uses this show as a platform to diss Levi in any way. If she does, she will only be hurting her son.

Thanks to John and Candace for the link! 😉

DWTS Week 8 – Kym Johnson On The Challenge About To Get Greater

The Pittsburgh Gazette caught up with Kym and Hines to see how they were coming along this week with their dancing. This team have been working 10 hours a day relentlessly. But, the two somehow managed to take a little time out to see “Burn The Floor” (instead of the new premiere of “Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”) which Kym said might be more beneficial and inspiring (smart move on her part, as always). They talk about their dances tonight and some of the challenges coming. More below and at the link as well which includes a video I can’t embed. Be sure to see it. Special thanks to Pure DWTS reader Jenny for bringing this news to our attention.

The challenge is about to get greater. On tonight’s program, he and Ms. Johnson will perform a foxtrot that she said includes some fun but “super-cheesy” elements.

“Hines is pretty much skipping around the floor, giddy.”

Giddy might work for Mr. Ward, whose last two dances demanded keeping a straight face. “This week, Hines can go back to being himself; he has that great smile,” his partner said.

Not so fun is the return of the “instant dance,” where teams prepare a routine but are only told 20 minutes ahead of time what music — which could vary in length — they’ll dance to. Theirs will be the jive.

“It’s kind of adjusting on the run. … But it’s going to be hard on everybody,” said Mr. Ward.

“I’ve been playing different music for Hines so he’s not getting used to any one track,” said Ms. Johnson, who carries around video of their performances and rehearsals on her iPad. “I think it’ll be good because he won’t have too much time to think — he’ll just have to feel it and dance it.”

They’ve been putting in 10-hour days. It didn’t help when, early last Thursday, Mr. Ward and an acquaintance giving him a ride home were pulled over by Los Angeles police.

The driver had reported her car stolen but failed to contact police when she discovered it had not been. Gossip site TMZ “just ran with the story,” said Mr. Ward, adding that he did not consider the incident a distraction to this week’s training.

At this point, the team is beyond Latrobe-training-camp levels of practice.

“He’s like a machine,” Ms. Johnson said. “Now is when you kick the work up another level.”

DWTS12, Week 8 – Adele, Dancing With The Stars “Greatest Results Show Performances”, & More On Tap

Get ready for another two hour Results Show tomorrow night. According to ABC Media, tomorrow night’s show is dedicated to the “Greatest Results Show Performances”. Not only that, but, Grammy Aawrd winning artist Adele will perform two songs. There is something special planned for the “Spotlight Segment” again as well. More in a take below. Be sure to read the link in full which outlines both tonight and tomorrow night’s shows. Who’s ready I say? 😀

On TUESDAY, MAY 10 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), two hours of “Dancing” get underway with the special, “Dancing with the Stars: Greatest Results Show Performances,” featuring the most extraordinary Results performance moments in the show’s history. Then, on “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show: Episode 1208A” (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET), another couple will be asked to leave the ballroom and this season’s semifinalists will be determined in what could be the most dramatic elimination so far. Also this week, Grammy Award-winning artist Adele will perform two songs, the classic ballad “Natural Woman,” with Cheryl Burke and Louis Van Amstel on the dance floor, and the enormously popular first single from her No. 1 bestselling album, “21.”

In this week’s “Spotlight Segment,” all eyes will be on Hefa Tuita (19) and his brothers, Solane (16) and Tu’iniua (12), as they perform to LMAFO’s Party Rock Anthem. The “Dancing with the Stars Spotlight” features talented performers whose lives have been changed forever by dance. Born in Hawaii and raised in Utah, all three boys have trained in hip hop, jazz and ballet throughout childhood thanks to their father, who worked three jobs to keep his sons in dance school. When their father passed away in 2008, the eldest brother began dancing professionally as a means to support his family and still continues to do so, working with such artists as Rich and Tone and Chris Brown.

Pure DWTS 12 – Tony Dovolani Weighs In On The Show

PopStop TV interviewed Tony about the show over the weekend. He dished about how well he got along with his partner Wendy Williams and how much she wanted to learn to dance. He thinks George Lopez should dance on the show (to see what it’s like to be made fun of). He’s also rooting for Kirstie to win this Season. He says she’s working hard and yet, has the right attitude about having fun. He also dishes on the judges and who is the toughest (I like this part). More in detail below.

DWTS Season 12 – Backstage at Dancing with the Stars

Blogher went backstage last week during the Results Show. They interview Chelsea on her journey so far. But, in the process, they find out what makes the show tick in other ways. I highlighted the parts that caught my attention. You might find some of this interesting too….especially on their “music choices” every week. I remember Mark saying in one of their first dances how we shouldn’t fault them for their edginess and far out, untraditional choreography with the music they had. Well, according to this interviewer, he chose or had a say in the music and yet, blamed the producers. *sigh* Anyway, read below and the link for much more on the show and the couples.

Having now spent just that little time backstage and in the audience, I can tell you this: These stars are not kidding when they talk about how bad they want to win. Whatever motivations drive them to start the process, once they start spending 5, 6, and ultimately ten hours a day “training,” they have the eye of the tiger, all right.

We were supposed to interview Chelsea at 3PM, but it was not a typical dress rehearsal, apparently, and they were running far behind. Chelsea wouldn’t be done until 3:30, had a costume consult and hair/make-up at 4, and we really needed to be in our seats by 5:30 for a 6PM start.

Meanwhile, the delay meant we’d be watching the filming of the taped segments from backstage, instead of from our seats. In the end I confess I was glad, because when you attend such a show you end up getting a lot of coaching on clapping and cheering and smiling and clapping and reacting and clapping. I was only doing that for the actual one hour of the show, and my arms (and cheeks) were tired from the clapping and the smiling. Can’t imagine how the folks who were doing that for three hours felt!

I’ve always wondered how much control they had over their own routines, particularly the music, and apparently they do get to pick their music. Not all of it clears, so sometimes songs end up being chosen for them, but their Paso Doble song last week, by Deadmouse, was their choice.

I am very glad to know this, because I am going to stop feeling sorry for some of them when they end up with really sucky music. Apparently, they only have themselves to blame.

I asked Chelsea if she was gonna take the whole competition, and walk away with that famed mirror ball trophy, and she said “I would like to. I really would like to.”

And that’s what I love about the show: Those stars get really competitive and intense about it, and I totally believe they want to win, and that it really matters to most of them to make it through to another week. To see people you are used to thinking of as famous and perhaps a bit impervious to life’s disappointments get that invested makes all the difference.

It’s also nice to see the camaraderie that forms between the dancers, the stars and everyone else, and according to Chelsea, they don’t need to fake that. There’s a fun, playful atmosphere, and this cast is spending time together even when they don’t have to. Going out to dinner, going dancing, hanging out even though they’re “not contractually obligated” to do so.

When we finally made it into our seats (front row, thanks Chelsea!!) for the show, you could see the how each couple responded to each other and the crowd. Kirstie works the crowd from the moment she walks in…waving, winking, making faces. Kendra really did seem so scared stiff and out of her element. Chelsie and Romeo looked extremely nervous…I think Chelsie thought they were going to go. They’re all very easy and affectionate with one another, and during breaks looking out into the crowd for familiar faces. All of which were smiling and clapping and cheering…until our hands, arms and cheeks hurt!

DWTS 12, Week 8 – Ralph Macchio And Karina Smirnoff Doing a Viennese Waltz That’s Never Been Done Before And More

TV Guide has a new interview up with Karina. She gives a hint of how her and Ralph’s new dances (the Viennese Waltz and the Cha Cha) are coming along. Sounds like they have something edgy, sexy, and different planned for tonight for their Viennese Waltz. This is sounding cool so far. Here is a take. Be sure to read the link for the full interview.

You’ve said your Viennese waltz is one that’s never been done before.
Karina Smirnoff: It’s going to be so awesome! I requested this song in the beginning of the season, so I’ve been waiting to do this for a while. It’s just going to be a completely different spin on the Viennese waltz. It’s usually romantic and elegant, but ours is dark, edgy and sexy. Ralph is so different and so sexy and so dominant in it. It’s really cool. He’s totally into the character of the dance. I’m so excited about it.

How do you think the judges are going to react to it, especially Len? Is it still a traditional routine?
Smirnoff: It’s still traditional. I’m not changing the moves. They’re all Viennese waltz elements. Len won’t say we broke any rules. The only difference is the mood. I think it’s going to take everyone by surprise, but I think it’s going to work. We’re both really pumped about it. It’s just a fresh twist on something you’ve seen plenty of times before. I think the judges will love it. I hope they will!

How’s the cha-cha going?
Smirnoff: Great! It’s so funny because that was the team dance last week and Ralph was nervous about doing all the moves and shaking his hips and stuff, but he slowly got comfortable with it and now he can’t wait to do a whole routine. It’s going to be hot and fun. Let me tell you, he’s really gotten into the cha-cha. He is shaking it and working it! Between this and the Viennese waltz, this will be the sexiest you’ll ever see him!

The cha-cha’s also the Instant Dance. What’s your plan? Are you not worried about the music?
Smirnoff: Yeah, I’m not worried about it. It’s choreographed in a way that’s adaptable to whatever music they give us. It’s obviously not completely done, but we have most of it down and I left some leeway if we need to change anything. We have option A or option B, and we’ll just work on it in those 30 minutes or whatever before we have to dance.

How has Ralph been handling not only having two dances, but one where he doesn’t even know the music?
Smirnoff: It’s so tough, especially at this point in the show, but he’s been doing well. You do get really tired sometimes, and you have brain farts. Like I could tell him to step right and he’ll step left. And I’ll say, “No, right!” And he’ll keep stepping left! [Laughs] It’s hard, but we always pull through at the end of the day. This show is a testament to how powerful the human mind and will is for the pros and the celebrities. I was talking to Mark Ballas today and he was like, “Are you OK?” I said yes, but I’m just, like, exhausted. It’s an effort to talk. It took me four hours to get out of bed today!

Also and according to Karina and Ralph’s tweets, it appears Ralph is nursing an injury of some sort. Let’s hope and pray this injury won’t set these two back in any way tonight. They deserve to be in the finals in my opinion.

DWTS 2011 – Chelsea Kane And Mark Ballas On Being The Most Immature Couple, The Judges, Their Upcoming Slow Waltz & More (Videos)

Chelsea and Mark talk to Access Hollywood about their rehearsals and how fast they go since they are having so much fun. They never leave the studio angry. They also dish about how funny Maks and Kirstie are on stage and behind the scenes as well and why everyone loves them this year. Kirstie is always “on point”. In comparison, Chelsea remarks how they need to be funnier (please don’t go there. Let Maks and Kirstie be who they are and you and Mark be who you are). They also embrace being the “Most Immature Couple” on the show this year. More below.

And that’s not all. Mark talks about Len and how they are friends again in this clip. They hope Len will like their dance Monday since it’s the Slow Waltz and a little more “traditional”. But, they want it to be “entertaining” too and not boring. Mark also talks about the hits he’s been taking. He says it bothers him when the judges are so hard on them when Chelsea danced perfectly (here we go again). Ok, I’ll let you listen.

DWTS 12 – Romeo Miller On Winning: “It’s going to take a lot of hard work and a miracle”

ET Online interviewed Chelsie and Romeo last night at the premiere of his new movie, “Jumping The Broom”. While interviewing them on the movie, they ask him about Dancing With The Stars. He talks about what it’s going to take for him to win which is “a lot of hard work and a miracle”. He says to “keep an eye on Chelsea Kane”. Is it just me or does it almost sound like he’s giving up a little? I hope not because he could still be a serious contender in this competition if he wants it bad enough? I don’t think he realizes just how good he is and can be?

DWTS Season 12, Week 7 – Ralph Macchio Does Jay Leno (Videos)

Ralph was Jay Leno’s guest last night. They talk on everything from Ralph’s marriage, when he had a bit of wildness at age 12, and, of course, Dancing With The Stars. Ralph jumped 100% into the show at the last minute and is loving it. He talks of he and Karina’s great relationsip and how they hope to continue on the same path as they did this last week. Watch below and then I have a question for you afterwards.

This is my second favorite couple next to Kirstie and Maks. Who is your second favorite couple?
