PureDWTS15 The “All-Star Forefathers”, “The Ballroom Shuffle”, Dance Fusion POLL (VOTE)

Some things remind us of why we are all here and the political ads on Dancing With The Stars this past week, the pic above titled as the “All-Star Forefathers” by Dancing With The Stars Official Facebook, and the poem below by PureDWTS reader Lois were several of them.

THE BALLROOM SHUFFLE

The ballroom was shuffled, the deck was stacked
The dances were crazy mixed up, were attacked

The theme was fusion, a blending of two dances
Throwing cards in the air, taking many chances

Dance steps had to intertwine, into the other flow
We marveled as all the dancers aced them just so

Kelly and Val mixed Fox Trot, Cha-Cha with ease
Melissa and Tony mixed Tango, Cha-Cha to please

Emmitt and Cheryl gave the Rumba, Samba a whirl
Gilles, Peta gave Argentine Tango, Samba a twirl

Karina and Apolo’s Cha-Cha, Paso Doble excited
Max, Kirstie’s Quickstep, Samba surely delighted

A mixed up trio arrived to the Ballroom Shuffle dance
Two fellows dressed alike, only one will get the chance

Mark, chosen to dance Paso Doble, Tango with Shawn
All Derek could do was sit in the audience looking on

The Ballroom Shuffle experiment dazzled and amazed
The dancing cards shuffled, new dancing trails blazed

A swing dance marathon was danced to Do Your Thing
Who would be crowned Swing Dance Queen and King

The couples were tagged, they had to leave the floor
First to go were Kirstie and Max, were shown the door

Second to go, Gilles and Peta ended their swing dance
Apolo and Karina were tagged third, lost their chance

Fourth to be tagged, Emmitt, Cheryl’s time was done
Number Five, Shawn and Mark, had to leave the fun

It was down to two couples, who would get the score
Kelly and Val’s valiant try, number six, could go no more

Tony and Melissa’s endurance made them last to go
Winning the crown of the ballroom Swing Dance Show

Next week trios will dance together, not two but three
Kirstie and Max chose Tristan, what dance will we see

Kelly and Val chose Louis, three glide across the floor
Emmitt and Cheryl chose Kym, could not ask for more

Apolo and Karina chose Sasha from the dancing troupe
Melissa and Tony chose Henry, oh wow, what a group

Gilles and Peta chose Chelsie to help their dancing cause
Shawn and Derek chose Mark, to the ballroom’s applause

The deck was stacked, Ballroom Shuffle blazed the trail
Next Monday night the All-Stars will return without fail!

THE BALLROOM SHUFFLE PROVED A ROUSING SUCCESS!
NEXT WEEK THREE WILL DANCE, WE EXPECT NOTHING LESS!

Too fun, Lois! THANKS so much!!! And now between you, comments in other posts, and a tweet from reader Jimmboe Tuesday night has us wondering what your overall thoughts were on the “Dance Fusion”? Would you all like to see the Dance Fusion make a reappearance in the future on Dancing With The Stars? Lets get some numbers. Take our new Poll below and let us know what you think in comments too if interested….

I’m voting “No”. The Dance Fusion was ok for something different, but, I really like just watching the couples just dancing to one style of dance. I wouldn’t want to see the Dance Fusion become a seasonal thing.

Early Farewell To Louis And Sabrina, Should There Be a Judges Save on DWTS? TAKE POLL

Wow, did you ever hear the ballroom get so quiet as it did last night when Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel were eliminated on Dancing With The Stars? Those silent moments just about said it all, didn’t they?! Sad!! With some voters not being able to vote last week (because of the election debates and the baseball game messing with the schedule in some parts of the Country) and this week (because of the hurricane), we were all expecting we might have a surprise elimination. Even still, Sabrina and Louis…one of the best couples to dance on this show? No! Last night, after the show was over, judge Carrie Ann Inaba was tweeting that we should tell producers we want a “judges save” if we didn’t like the “surprise elimination”. Sorry Carrie Ann, I just can’t do it. Even though I don’t think it’s fair Sabrina and Louis are leaving early, the judges have enough control of this show as it is. What do you guys think? Let’s take a POLL:

With that said, here’s to Louis and Sabrina!! I think what I’ll remember the most about Sabrina is not her high performance energy and passionate dancing, but, her overall genuine love for Dancing With The Stars. A lot of celebrities come and go on this show without taking one look back. Not Sabrina. She LOVES Dancing With The Stars so much!! Here are some interviews from after their elimination last night to get their reactions. They have nothing but good things to say on the show, the cast, the fans, and each other. Read more..

PureDWTS POLL: Team Gangnam or Team Call Me Maybe? Which was the best? VOTE

Annie Barrett of EW wrote up a piece on Dancing With The Stars last night! She’s a hoot always and seems to always voice what the fans generally think without minsing words. Did she do the same again? Read on to see….

Congrats to Team ‘Gangnam Style’ — a.k.a. American Psy — for delivering what was in many ways the best and worst group dance Planet Mirrorballus has ever seen. Mostly worst! It was the best if you love tepid messes and things that make no sense, which obviously I do because it’s season 15 and I’m still sitting here in my fringed boots typing about an alternate universe. Like Kelly Monaco said, “Sometimes… trainwrecks are fun to watch.”

Somehow this group f(l)ail earned Kelly, Kirstie, Emmitt, and Not-At-All-Powerful Captain Gilles three 9s, probably because if the judges had scored it fairly the entire leaderboard would have been messed up. I’m fine with that. I might even award them all 9s myself provided I’d never have to see Gilles peering into Peta’s crotch, Kirstie and Maks’ “mat exercises,” and Bruno sniffing O Captain His Captain’s lointowel ever, ever again. EWWWW.com.

LOL! She’s too funny!! I still can’t believe the judges would give Team Gangham “9’s”? 😕

So, we’re curious on some Poll numbers for the fans favorite TEAM DANCE? No, Polls aren’t always accurate, but, our Polls at PureDWTS seem to be pretty close. So, what do you think: Team Gangnam or Team Call Me Maybe? Which Team Dance did you think was the best this week? Note: this isn’t a Poll for who your favorite dancers are. Try to keep them out of it and only vote on the dances themselves? If you need to watch or relive the dances again, you can do so at the end of this post!

Thanks so much for your vote! Be sure to tell us how you voted in comments too if you like!

Chelsie Hightower And Roshon Fegan Don’t Want To Say Good-bye On Dancing With The Stars

Chelsie and Roshon are always full of energy and fun. The two made this personal video while taking a break in rehearsals. Roshon writes a song while singing to vote for them on Dancing With The Stars and it’s not bad. Sweet!!

Here’s to Chelsie and Roshon and their Rumba tonight which Chelsie says is going well at facebook. I don’t want to see them say good-bye either!!

DWTS Derek Hough And Maria Menounos Talk About Dating Rumors, Tonight’s Dance, And More

Derek and Maria cleared up dating rumors on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning!! Details below including an explanation on their kiss last week, why he takes his shirt off, and Maria’s injuries…

On Tonight’s Dance:
“We are dancing the foxtrot. It’s Motown week, so we are dancing to Martha Reeves, she’s actually going to be performing while we dance. So, it should be nice, it’s the first time that they’ve done that before,” Derek says. When asked about who their biggest competition is, Derek replied: “Everybody is. Everybody is really good.”

On ‘The Kiss’:
Derek tells us: “That was actually Maria’s idea. Here’s how it went down. I was like: ‘Okay, the music’s building up, the music’s going do you really want it?’ Then something has to happen, and I’m like: ‘Well, everybody takes their shirt off, so that’s done and then we can’t just do like a dip or a move, because it’s bigger than that and she’s like: ‘Well, what if I just made out with you?’”

Derek On Why He Always Takes Off His Shirt:
“Because there’s a lot of abs going on this season with the Donald Drivers and the William Levys. I got to try to compete a little bit,” he tells us. “It’s tough, it’s tough.”

Maria On Her Injuries:
Maria tells us: “I think the worst is over, I broke some ribs, and fractured my foot, and did some crazy stuff. I had a chin, what did you call it?” Derek tells us, “She just faceplants on to a wooden floor, it was amazing, and painful.” He adds, “She is an amazing patient, because she has been doing everything and anything possible, like Cryogenics.” Maria corrects him: “Cryotherapy. Cryogenics is like a surgery thing.”

You can listen to the full interview below…

Stay tuned. We hope to have their Ellen Show interview up as soon as we can! Also, be sure you are following Pure Derek Hough. Heidi has some great paparazzi pics, screen caps, collages (made by @Elara), videos, and more.

Mark Ballas Comes Up With Ingenious Idea To Get Katherine Jenkins’ ‘Bounce’ On

Mark gives us a hint at USA Today of what to expect of he and Katherine’s package and dances tonight on Dancing With The Stars. Get ready for some “wackiness” in their package as they ready for the Samba!

We have three dances this week: the samba for our solo dance, the cha-cha for the marathon and then all the teams must prepare a jive for the dance duel. My first thought: “Ugh! that’s a lot!” But it’s good — they are all fun, and I enjoy each of them.

Samba is all about partying and bouncing. Katherine has naturally straight legs so I came up with a pretty ingenious idea to encourage her to bend her knees and get her “bounce” on. Be sure to tune in Monday to see where I took her and the wacky activity I made her take part in.

More at USA Today.

UPDATE: Here is a new rehearsal interview with Mark and Katherine and Extra. Check out her Salsa moves. What do you think? Hmmm….

DWTS 2012 Donald Driver And Peta Murgatroyd Work On Detail For The Fox Trot

Donald Driver loves Motown music. His mother use to play Motown on “clean the house day” on Saturdays when he was little. Peta says they are working on a lot of “detail” as they rehearse for the Fox Trot. They really want to please Len this week and see those scores raise higher. Donald is also planning to make one of his moves on Dancing With The Stars his new touchdown dance. More below from ET Online including their thoughts on the Dance Duel and what Donald’s wife thinks of his gig on Dancing With The Stars.

William Levy On Dancing With The Stars Week 6 “It’s Going Crazy Right Now”

ET Online went into Cheryl and William’s rehearsals to get an update on William’s injured ankle. Cheryl plans to make him lift and spin no matter if it hurts or not. He has a good sense of humor on it, but, sometimes I wonder if he’d like to tell Cheryl to take a flying leap? 😯 Lots more below including their thoughts on the Dance Duel and Donald Driver who William respects a lot.

Also, Allure Magazine has a new interview up with Cheryl talking about make-up and Dancing With The Stars. She also comments a little on William…

Have you ever had a wardrobe malfunction? “We’re basically sewn into our costumes on DWTS. Throughout the day, the wardrobe department makes various adjustments to them once they see how they fit and move on our bodies while we dance. I’ve seen our costumers remake an entire dress 2 hours before the live show!”

What’s your routine when you’re off camera? “A little moisturizer and I’m out the door. I don’t even need to put on mascara anymore because of my lash extensions. Most people don’t even recognize me on the street because I look so different.”

What’s your desert island beauty list? “Hmmm, I think I’d keep it super natural if I was stranded. I’d want some sunscreen, a good moisturizer, and my Veet Ready to Use Wax Strips—a girl’s gotta be ready for a rescue!”

Does having William Levy as your partner this season make you want to step everything up a notch? “William is a very handsome man—I can see why the ladies love him. When I look at William I see a man with dance potential. It helps keep me focused on my job!”
