So, today, we’ve got two tweets that make you wonder. First, check out the tweet below from Lizzie Grubman. I know two of her clients are Maks and Chynna Phillips (a rumored celebrity to be on Dancing With The Stars), but, who is the third? Could it be Maks’ brother Val? If any of you know who else the third client might be, be sure to let us know in the comment section.
You know it almost fall when client A, client B, and client C are leaving for #DWTS13! Woo Hoo!!!!!
Heidi’s Note: The Maks fans say that Maks, Teddy and Val are all on their way to NYC, so it’s very possible that those three are all clients of Lizzie’s. As for what Maks is going to find “sooo different” – it could be that Val will be a pro, but look at his hashtag. Next chapter?? What, did they promote him to producer? Or is it a next chapter for VAL? And, as Evaine commented on Twitter – since when is Maks the blabby one?
Regis Philbin only wants one person to fill his seat when he leaves LIVE with Regis And Kelly soon and that is …..Tom Bergeron. But, unless the show moves to Kansas, Tom’s not interested. While on the subject of Tom Bergeron and the rumors he might be dancing, Regis says he won’t be heading to the ballroom either. Here is more in a take from Access Hollywood. These two crack me up!
“I can’t, I work on the West Coast, that show is on the East Coast,” Tom told Access. “If we could maybe do it in Kansas — do everything in Kansas, then I’d be good. Yeah, yeah something like that.”
So while Tom won’t be stepping into Regis’ shoes any time soon, Regis also won’t be crossing over to Tom’s ballroom.
“No, I don’t think so, it’s too much work,” Regis said of those continuing rumors he could head to the “DWTS” competition. “I’ve talked to the people who have been on the show. They’re all banged up, they need new hips, new knees I’ve done that — don’t want to do it again.”
Last night after dancing for Dancing With Me Soho’s production “Ballroom On Broadway” in Manhattan, Val Chmerkovskiy announced his retirement from competitive dancing. Below is a little of what he wrote in an open letter on Dancebeat.com. A very touching and emotional announcement.
To all I care about,
I’m writing this letter to let you know that I have decided to end my competitive dance career. It truly has been an amazing journey for me. I have been so very blessed with the incredible partners that I had the pleasure of growing and competing with. To them I say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Endless gratitude to the coaches that have given me so much, I am forever in debt. The knowledge that was shared with me, throughout the years, is worth more than any trophy I have ever won. The experience I gained from the countless hours of practice and performances, the character I built from the disappointments and failure, alongside with the love I gained for movement, music, and self-expression is something that has shaped me into the man I am today.
I was a 7 year old child when I was dragged against my will into a world of high heels, tight pants, and shiny shirts. I was a 12 year old boy when I went to my first oversees competition (German Open), and was one of only 2 US couples there (my brother being the second). I was a 15 year old adolescent when I won my first IDSF World Championship, and became the first and last American to ever do it… I was a 19 year old “young man” when I had the privilege of lifting the Blackpool trophy, which was an honor I only dreamed about. But as a 23 year old man I was told I couldn’t compete at the Dutch Open. Then as a 24 year old man I was told that I couldn’t compete against some of the best dancers in the world, because of reasons I had no power of influencing. The world I believed in, loved, and was willing to give up my last penny for was changing… and changing for the worse.
You can continue to read his official letter here.
So, what does this mean for Val’s future? Heidi and several of you have speculated in the comment sections that this might mean Val will be coming to Dancing With The Stars Season 13 and that he might be one of the “new faces” that we have been rumored to see. If so, could this be why his brother Maks decided to return for the new season? So many questions surrounding this new Season. Hopefully, we will know more soon and this isn’t the last we see of Val and his dancing career. Pay close attention to the Pro-Watch sticky!
Bob Decastro of Good Day L.A. went to interview and dance with Karina Smirnoff at her new dance studio this morning. Karina is excited on it’s opening and remarks how she’s wanted to open a new dance studio for the longest time. All ages are welcomed unlike other studios. Unfortunately, they don’t talk about Dancing With The Stars, but, she shows Bob a sexy roll and more below.
OK Magazine also caught up with Karina. She says she doesn’t know who her partner is on Dancing With The Stars, but, she’d love to dance with Rob Kardashian. She also gives her feelings on the Snooki and Queen Latifah rumors. More below….
“I don’t know who my partner is or who is on the cast this season. You only hear rumors.”
“Obviously everyone’s heard about Rob Kardashian, who I think is gonna be awesome on the show, but other than that I haven’t heard about anyone else.”
Other rumored dancers have been Queen Latifah and Jersey Shore‘s Snooki.
“I do get excited about Queen Latifah, I’m a huge fan of hers,” Karina said. “I think Snooki would be very, very entertaining. Just because she is entertaining.”
Who wouldn’t she mind dancing with? Rob Kardashian!
“I think it would be awesome,” she told OK!. “He’s fun, he’s full of energy, we can definitely maneuver him into some very cool moves.”
“I think it would be fun,” Karina added. “I don’t know how much of that is true. It is exciting because it’s new season, new blood, new direction, new energy. It will be fun to see what happens.”
I wasn’t going to post this one, because I didn’t think DWTS would actually have a porn star on the show. Actually…I still don’t. But Jeniffer, one of our regular readers, found this on Twitter yesterday and posted a link in the comments here: Read more..
Ok, so I was digging around a little tonight (yes, I have Dancing With The Stars on the brain! lol ) and noticed Chaz Bono has recently added Karina Smirnoff & Mark Ballas to his “followers” at twitter. I also noticed he never replied back to Lisa Stanley of K-Earth radio when she said, “YAY! Can’t wait to c u on DWTS.” Wouldn’t he correct it or deny it if it weren’t true (like he has on a recent wedding rumor to his girlfriend)?
Chaz has also recently added Kirstie Alley and Mackenzie Phillips (sister to Chynna Phillips, another rumored celebrity to dance as well this season) to his twitter followers.
So, could this all mean something or not….or is it just coincidental and Chaz just likes Dancing With The Stars and the celebrites and dancers above?
Note: Karina is not following Chaz….yet. Neither is Mark!!
Note: John taught us a new trick – we can now “stickie” a post to the top of the page and add new posts below it. Which is what I’m going to do with this post, so don’t miss anything down below. ETA: You can tell a stickied post by the lovely blue color.
Okay, so the pros supposedly find out if they are competing on Monday, but in seasons past they actually start getting confirmed this weekend. If you believe @DWTSGossip on Twitter, 8 have been confirmed and 4 are waiting to find out. She also says there will be three “new faces” on the dance floor with partners. Which means only ONE of the currently unconfirmed pros will be getting a partner, according to what she wrote about it. I’m still wondering if it just means 3 new Troupe members, but she implies three new faces competing with celebs (which means they don’t necessarily have to be Troupe, since those aren’t technically “new”). Wow. I just made my own brain ache. I hope you all followed that.
I’ve noted all those called “confirmed” by @DWTSGossip, below. All that said, a word of caution: I do think that @DWTSGossip has a source that is reliable. I say that’s likely because I’ve had them before and @DWTSGossip has been on target in the past. HOWEVER, as with anything you read on the net, it is not “for sure” until it comes from the Pros themselves, Tom Bergeron or DWTS producers via GMA. We’ve seen a previously reliable source (TMZ) go down in flames this season and they were right the last two seasons. Just be cautious before you start throwing parties…or go into mourning. I think she’s (?) probably right…but that’s what I said about TMZ as well. ETA: Please note that nothing is certain until we hear it from the Pros or the show. Don’t yell at me if something turns out to be incorrect.Read more..
Ok, so this girl is seriously getting on my every nerve!!! One minute Snooki is doing the show and the next she or someone in her camp are saying she’s not dancing. Now, Hollywood Life is reporting that Snooki is holding out for more MONEY!!! Come on! If true, why should Dancing With The Stars pay her more money? She should be lucky she’s getting any money at all or the “attention”.
If this rumor comes true, this will be like “Bristol Palin” all over again for me. I will still watch the show. I love it and one person will never chase me off. But, come on!!
“They are still trying to make the deal with Snooki,” our source dishes. “She was verbally in, but has yet to sign anything. She has been very concerned with the schedule and what she will be paid.”
With the season 13 premiere of DWTS just around the corner on Sept. 19, ABC is in a rush to finalize the cast as soon as possible. After all, they have to start rehearsing, plus, the cast is being announced Aug. 29 during the Bachelor Pad.
Adds our insider, “The producers are confident that she will still join the show, but if she continues to hold out, they have people that will fill her spot. They always overcast the show.”
