PureDWTS Season 22 Cast Rumors: Trisha Paytas…Possible Hint, or Just a Wannabe?

It’s still pretty damn early for the season 22 rumor mill to be churning out anything really significant, but this post from YouTube personality Trisha Paytas on Instagram yesterday gave me pause:

getting my workout in with @seanvanderwilt #DWTS #2016

A video posted by trishapaytas (@trishapaytas) on

My gut tells me she’s probably either just joking or is subtly trying to express interest in being on the show, but given that DWTS kinda branched out last season by tapping a Vine star like Hayes – is it really too far-fetched to assume that they might try to cast a YouTube personality within the next few seasons? Or that they might have reached out to a few already? Trisha’s been around for awhile, and has a large following – plus she’s put out some music on iTunes (and some accompanying music videos, which is most likely what she was rehearsing for here), has published several books, and has appeared on shows like America’s Got Talent, Dr. Phil, and My Strange Addiction…so she’s got a lot of irons in the fire.

That being said – the one potential caveat I can see with her in particular is that she’s refreshingly (at least in my opinion) open about her sex life, and the fact that she used to work in the sex industry.  Might not really jive well with the more conservative-leaning audience of DWTS.  Thoughts?

DWTS Season 19 – Rumor Roundup!!!

Greetings from hot & sunny Spring, TX 🙂 I’m actually typing this poolside at my aunt’s house, as I’m on vacation right now – but Vogue & Heidi have been putting in some serious hours on the casting rumors, and as I have the past few seasons, I thought it might be good to work up a good summary post for all the casting rumors that have cropped between the end of last season and right now.  😎

If any new casting rumors pop up between now and the cast announcement next week, I’ll try to update – but at the rate they’ve been flowing these past few days, it might not happen immediately.  Please be patient 🙂

I’ve divided our potential dancers this season into 5 categories: the “legitimate possibilities”, which are rumors that have surfaced within the last week or so (when most casting leaks occur) and come from sources that are generally pretty reliable when it comes to casting leaks; the “long shots”, which are rumors from less-reliable sources, vague tweets, and ambiguous responses from the celebs themselves – basically, rumors that we aren’t really as confident about; the “wannabes/campaigners”, who are celebs who have expressed interest in doing the show (but haven’t actually been reported as a rumor by any reputable outlets); “pure randomness”, which is for random and slightly interesting observations that may or may not indicate a certain celeb’s possible participation in this season – generally, they mean nothing, but we’re adding them here for sh*ts & giggles. 🙂 And then there are the “no’s”, the celebs that have confirmed that they won’t be participating in this season.

Legitimate possibilities:

Andi Dorfman
Randy Couture
Kacy Catanzaro
Antonio Sabato Jr.
Janel Parrish
Lolo Jones
Sadie Robertson
Betsey Johnson
Lea Thompson
Bethany Mota
Jonathan Bennett

Longshots:

Lindsay Lohan
Meagan Tandy
Tommy Chong
Colton Smith
Andy Pettitte
James Storm
Shania Twain
Ashley Gold
Landon Donovan
Tim Howard
Kandi Burress/someone from Bravo
Josh Murray
Sara Evans

Wannabes/Campaigners:

Vincent M. Ward
Jane Savoie

Pure Randomness:

Tavis Smiley
Carly Steel
Shemar Moore
Courtney Robertson

The “No’s”:

Jim Kelly

So which rumors are you guys most excited about? Which ones do you think are bogus? Let’s hear it!

Olympic Equestrian Rider And Coach Jane Savoie Wants To Dance On Dancing With The Stars

Normally, we don’t really post a lot on celebrity campaigns, but, this lady sounds different and kind of interesting. According to the Equestrian Chronicle, Olympic equestrian rider and coach Jane Savoie wants to dance on Dancing With The Stars. Be sure to read how she came up with the idea to dance and why at Equestrian Chronicle. Below is a take for her message….

Savoie said she thinks it’s important for people to see that just because they’ve received their Medicare cards doesn’t mean that there’s not room for plenty more adventure in their lives, especially adventures as physically demanding as dancing.

She said that ballroom dancing isn’t all glittery sequins.

“There are hours and hours of sweaty practice behind the scenes,” she said.

“I started at 63. I’m 65 now,” she said. ”I think it’s encouraging for people that are in my age group who maybe have stopped dreaming to realize that there’s no expiration date on having a dream and going for it and staying fit and staying vibrant. I personally think it’s very encouraging when I see middle-aged and senior athletes just doing their things.”

Now that Savoie has sweated, practiced and competed, it’s time to impress the producers of “Dancing With the Stars.”

“They need to know that there is enough of a fan base within the horse industry because they’re not going to put someone on the show who doesn’t have a good following,” Savoie said. “I need people to like my Jane Savoie Dancing With the Stars Facebook page and share it with everyone.”

So, what do you think? Jane Savoie to dance? I say yes!!

Cheryl Burke Wants Khloe Kardashian To Dance On DWTS, Said She Would Win

PureDWTS reader Lois has a way of gathering up our feelings with her Dancing With The Stars poems and this time is no different…..

TWAS THE WEEK AFTER

Twas the week after our favorite dancing show
And all through the house, TVs have no glow

Not even a peep from Tom Bergeron we hear
No pros performing sparkling dances are near

No sequined costumes flowing across the floor
No pitter-patter of dancing feet, oh no, no more

Where is the band, did Harold Wheeler disappear
The music stopped, we have no tones for our ear

The couples have all gone home, it just can’t be
There is no more dancing for our eyes to see

What shall we do until Season 17 comes back
Our DVRs and YouTube will take up the slack

We blow a kiss good-bye to a season of dance
Oh how we wish we had just one other chance

To see the dancers again in all their regal glory
Return soon dancing show to tell another story!

WE MISS YOU, WE MOURN YOU, WE SHED A TEAR, OUR LOVE WE SEND!
DANCING WITH THE STARS COME BACK AROUND THE DANCING BEND!

THANKS Lois!!

With that said, on with a new Dancing With The Stars “watch out” and one not to be taken too seriously (let’s hope, lol). Life and Style Magazine is reporting pro dancer Cheryl Burke would like to see Khloe Kardashian dance on Dancing With The Stars. What’s more, and if she did so, she’d win. 😯

Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burke had an uphill battle when she was paired with comedian DL Hughley this season, but the two-time mirror ball champion isn’t dwelling on what might have been. Instead, she’s already focused on the next season of the hit show – and which celebs she’d like to see foxtroting their way across the floor. Number one on her wish list? Khloe Kardashian.

“Khloe’s got to do it,” Cheryl says. “I think she would be amazing. I think she would actually win the whole thing. She looks great, and I think she has natural rhythm and I think she would be amazing.”

More at Life and Style Magazine. What do you think if this were to happen?

Simply put, ‘No, please NO’ for me! I could barely handle seeing her on the X Factor last season or in the audience screaming when her brother Rob danced on the show. 😮

Insider Talks Of Rebooting Dancing With The Stars, Says Something Really Needs To Change

An insider from Dancing With The Stars tells Clicker on “Today” “no comment” when asked if there would be judging changes for the next season of Dancing With The Stars. However, this is what the insider did address…

“There’s nothing official yet, but yeah, there’s a lot of talk about rebooting elements of the show, and yes, even when and how long the seasons should run,” the insider explained. “Some of that is just the normal convos that take place (after the last season) wraps. But there is a sense that something really needs to change, and not just cosmetic changes. Ratings slipped (last season) and no one wants to see them slip any more.”

Deciding what to change is the real dilemma.

“It’s all about finding balance. You’ve got to evolve to stay on top, but you’ve got to keep the core of the show, because the fans still want it to feel like the show they love.”

You can read the full article at Clicker on “Today”.

I agree how they need to make some changes just enough to “evolve”,…but, not too many where they lose the core of the show for what we love. I wonder what he/she means about “when and how long the seasons will run”? I like how long the seasons are. However, I’m not always a fan of “two hour” shows except at the very beginning.

We look forward to your thoughts as always. And below is Heidi with her take…

Heidi: Er, gee, there is “a sense that something really needs to change” – wonder where you got that sense, eh??  Even the people with their heads so far up their…well, you know…can see that there are issues. BIG ones.  The really sad thing is -I don’t actually trust any of the producers to actually comprehend what the issues really are. They’ll do something to make matters worse. Let’s call it the Hollywood Bubble effect.  All that said – this sounds like an insider that’s not really an insider. If you aren’t willing to put your name on your comment, then you can expect a lot of skepticism.

Adding A Younger Judge To Dancing With The Stars Judging Panel and More Rumors

Another day, more rumors to take with a grain of salt! This time an insider has told Hollywood Life that the producers of Dancing With The Stars are considering a younger judge for the panel and Derek Hough is a “favorite” to be one of them. Note how this source is also reporting that the show may be filmed one night in New York City in a future season.

“They want to skew younger as the seasons continue and are looking to potentially add a younger, well-named judge for the show. There have been no names thought of yet, [it’s] just that they want to go younger.”

Like Paula Abdul did this past season, “They also have considered having guest judges to join the real judges from week to week.”

And here’s another shocker, “Not next season but in another future season, they are considering doing it in NYC!”

Derek Hough, who placed second in the All-star season, is a favorite for a new judge.

“Some of the dancers may remove themselves from the dancing part and may become judges themselves. The favorites like Derek have been considered for that type of role, but the Producers are aware that Derek gets celebrities to the show because they want to dance with him, so they are taking that under consideration moving forward as well.”

You can read the full article at Hollywood Life.

My thoughts if true (and that’s a big “if”)? I wouldn’t mind a younger judge added to the panel. Though really, I’d rather it be someone like SHIRLEY BALLAS instead. I also wish they’d replace Carrie Ann. Maybe they could replace Carrie Ann with Shirley and add a younger judge. I think Derek would do a super job, but, I’d rather see him dance or do movies, videos, music, and Broadway. Let’s see what Miss Heidi thinks….

Heidi: I think hell might freeze over before Derek sits in judgement of his former cast mates. He might do it for ONE night, but I just don’t see it. Not to mention that that was NOT in the list of things he recently gave a “next steps”. Yeah, he did say he would always be connected to the show in some way, but I don’t believe this is what he had in mind.  I think someone took the NY Post story (which was later modified), saw all the discussion around the next about needing new judges…and got creative.   All that said, I’m still not sure we need new judges as much as we need “judging RULES”. The dancers have rules…seems to me the judges should as well. And not those that they can disregard whenever they want….lookin’ at you, CAI, and your ridiculous, misused, lift rule.

DWTS Season 14 – Pro Watch!!

Whooo Hoooo!!! It’s nearly that time of year again, folks!!  DWTS Season 14!!  Me ‘cited. 🙂

Okay, this is REALLY early and most pros don’t actually know if they’re dancing yet, and they won’t for about a week and a half. With the cast announcement coming on the 28th, I would expect the pros start getting confirmation the week before that – and many have big mouths, lucky for us.  Both Cheryl and Derek have indicated, today (coincidence?), that they are planning on dancing.  Derek just now on Twitter and Cheryl earlier this morning. Normally, I wouldn’t report on these plans, because planning doesn’t make it actually happen – but in the case of Derek and Cheryl, I’m putting it out there because those two are most likely to be signed early. Plus, Derek, in the past, has only mentioned DWTS and dancing when it’s been a done deal. So, him saying “Who do you want me to dance with?”” is about as close to a confirmation without a confirmation you can get. 🙂 Especially from the absurdly tight lipped Derek. 😉

PLEASE don’t tell me that Louis said he wants to be back (same for Dmitry and the rest) because I think that’s blatantly obvious – and Louis and several others aren’t guaranteed a partner. Most of the rest of the pros WANT to be on the show, I just need something more concrete….along the lines of “Yay, I got a partner.”  Heh.

ETA 6: @DWTSGossip has had more to say regarding the men – that there will only be five and apparently he/she is retracting Val and saying “a Chmerkovskiy”. Good news for Tristan fans…sucks to be a fan of Louis or Dmitry (or Val OR Maks). MY ASSUMPTIONS ARE IN BLUE, @DWTSGOSSIP IS IN RED.  Please take special note of the word “assumption” – please look it up if you have to, I don’t want to have arguments about it tomorrow. 🙂

Brooke Burke Charvet’s Dancing With The Stars Dream Cast And The Formal Selection Process

Brooke told the Huffington Post that she hasn’t heard any rumors yet on the new cast of Dancing With The Stars, but, says she can understand them wanting to keep the Kardashian thing going (please no Brooke! I don’t understand it at all. 😐 ). Below is what she says about her dream cast….

“I have always said Oscar De La Hoya — I don’t know if he would ever do it — because I think he would be a blast,” Brooke dishes. “I think a quirky crazy one, because we always need one crazy, is Richard Simmons. I would love to see Suzanne Somers. She would be great.”

Although Brooke says she is not involved in the formal selection process, she does note that over a bottle of wine at dinner with cast members, the group does make a great “wish” list that often gets the producer’s attention.

And Brooke’s quick to add that the show does like controversy, so you never know — Rick Santorum are you listening?

Be sure to read the full story at the Huffington Post.

So, what do you think of her dream cast if the producers are listening? I think Richard Simmons and Suzanne Somers would be excellent choices.
