Doesn’t Karina look pretty? I love her hair long and dark with the way she’s been wearing it lately. Last night, she held a Pre-Billboard Music Awards Party at Tabú in Las Vegas. Carson Kressley showed up for the festivities in fine form too. You can read all about Karina, the party, the guests, and see more pictures at Haute Living.
Pictured above is Anna Trebunskaya and Chelsie Hightower. This weekend the two Dancing With The Stars pros attended the 19th Annual Race “Glam Rock To Erase MS” event at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Century City, California. Aren’t they gorgeous? You can see more pics of them at Zimbio Pictures. Be sure to view the link if interested because Anna wore two different dresses. :)
Did any of you happen to see Sherri Shepherd on the Jay Leno show Friday night? She goes through her whole time on Dancing With The Stars to when Tom Bergeron announced on twitter that it was going to be a “shocking elimination”. She didn’t think it was her being Carrie Anne said she was the “happiest contestant in history on Dancing With The Stars”. She is a hoot in this stand up piece. Check her out.
Stay tuned. As you know, Sherri and Val will be back to dance as well as all of the eliminated couples this week for the finals. Sherri tweeted this picture below of Maks and Tony in rehearsals writing that they were “flying thru the air” her. LOL!! This is going to be good….
Donald Driver opens up about once being homeless and selling drugs in People Magazine. If it weren’t for his Mom and his wife, he wouldn’t be the man he is today. Below is a take about his wife. She has some advice for his dancing as well. Be sure to read and see some pics at the link. Great interview. His wife is so beautiful!
“At that time in college, I was still selling drugs and I asked my wife to put a package away for me in her room and hide it while they did a search in the dormitories,” he says. “And she simply said, ‘No. God is testing you and if you want to be with me, then you have to stop this now.’ ”
“That time in college I knew I had a great athletic ability,” he adds, “but that was easy money. But she completely changed my life.”
They’ve now been together for 14 years – married for 12 – with three kids of their own, and Tina remains a strong guiding force.
Even as he performs sexy dances with his beautiful pro partner Peta Murgatroyd, Driver expects to get advice – not jealousy – from Tina.
“She’s my biggest critic,” he says. “She’ll tell me in a heartbeat, ‘Baby, that doesn’t look sexy enough. You need to hold Peta this way, with this expression on your face.’ ”
And if Driver has learned anything, it’s to be a good listener.
“As a man, you never want to embarrass your wife,” he says. “You don’t want to have an expression on her face on national TV like she’s ticked-off at her husband. For me at the end of the day I like to see her happy because I danced so well for her.”
Donald has also penned a new blog today at JS Online. He and Peta have been putting more time into their rehearsals than they ever have. More at the link.
I thought Peta and I were working overtime before, but that was nothing compared to what we’re doing this week. We’re putting in 12-hour days — even when we thought we had a move perfected we went over it a few more times. Hopefully all this work pays off and I can get my first 10 from Len!
The Stars (in more way than one) are aligned for the Dancing With The Stars Season 14 Finale. What does this mean for Monday and Tuesday night for William Levy & Cheryl Burke, Katherine Jenkins & Mark Ballas, and Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd?
If you’ve been following Pure Dancing With The Stars for the last couple of Seasons, you know that one of my interests in life since my mid teens has been Astrology. I like to use it to help me to understand people and myself more and why we are the way we are. Taking it one step further, it’s even more fun to see what certain signs ‘combined’ together might produce such as what we see in the unions on Dancing With The Stars. So, this season, we’re back again with another Zodiac Edition to study and explore the three remaining finalists in this area. You may have studied Astrology too in some fathom. If so, feel free to elaborate on what you think of these combinations and how it might effect the outcome on Monday and Tuesday night? So, let’s get started….
The Las Vegas Odds makers at Las Vegas Sports Betting have posted their new odds for the Dancing With The Stars Season 14 Finals. Let’s see how they stack up. Last week they put Maria and Katherine in 3rd place with 3/1 odds…and well, you know who went home. :( With the results of the elimination, they’ve done some switching around again and now put Katherine in the number two spot behind Donald in first. They’ve put William Levy in last place which shocks me some. I would think they’d put Katherine in the last spot? Regardless, what a tight set of odds again something I’ve never witnessed before.
New Las Vegas Odds for this week:
Donald Driver 3/2
Katherine Jenkins 7/4
William Levy 19/10
Last week’s Las Vegas Odds:
Donald Driver 7/4
William Levy 5/2
Maria Menounos 3/1
Katherine Jenkins 3/1
Let’s get my Pure Dancing With Stars Sistah’s thoughts to help us understand the odds makers more and be sure to tell us what you think in the comments section as well.
Courtney: At this point, I have just given up on trying to predict who will win or whether the odds are on-target or not…this season has just kinda left a bad taste in my mouth, with all the funny business that is clearly going on. But all things considered, and using what I’ve seen on Twitter and other places as a barometer, I do think Donald has the best chance of winning – for the simple reason that those who are tired of all the manipulation seem to be tossing their votes to him. As much as the circumstances that have led to it have sucked, it’s actually kind of nice to see such a sense of solidarity amongst fans of the show – I’ve seen fans of pretty much every eliminated team banding together and pledging to vote for Donald, to take a stand against the pimping of the “Royal Couple”. So where does that leave William & Katherine? Can’t say I really care a whole lot – as long as William doesn’t win, I think I’d be ok with Katherine winning…not necessarily HAPPY, but ok. I’m leaning towards Katherine coming in 3rd, and it coming down to William & Donald for the MBT. I’m fulling expecting The Three Stooges to underscore Donald and overscore both William & Katherine in the finals, but in the end I think Donald has the largest chunk of the voting population behind him – and that’s what truly wins the MBT. Remember, the judges did everything in their power to make Chelsea Kane a winner a year ago – and she STILL came in 3rd place. The judges’ pets have fallen in the past; it’s entirely possible that it will happen again ;-)
Heidi: Oy veh. I hope like hell they’re right. But who the hell knows. Courtney is correct, I see a lot of Derek/Maria fans saying they’ll vote Donald. I think some would vote for Katherine, but they’re afraid she doesn’t stand a chance against the two men. You can say that is a bit of a self fulfilling prophesy…but I happen to agree. I think it may be as close as shown up above too. I think back on how positive most were that this was going to be a great season…by the way, this is where I say “I told you so” :- ) …and how we thought the cast was going to be so strong. Well, it really hasn’t turned out that way, if you think about it. That’s all TALK from the judges and the producers, really. Part of that can be laid on having to learn so many dances….but I’ll save that for the Heidi/Courtney/Vogue Season 14 retrospective that will be posted about a week from now or so. :-)
Are we excited much yet? After watching this new promo, I so want MORE!
Mark writes at USA Today that Katherine is “ready for war” this week for the Dancing With The Stars finale. They’ve been working 8-10 hours a day. He’s given us some hints on their freestyle as well…
This week, I’ve tripled the pressure with three important dances, including the epic freestyle. As you can imagine, it’s my goal every season to take my partner to the finals, but each time I’ve been there, I’ve felt more pumped because it means I get to choreograph the freestyle.
I feel like the freestyle should reflect on all the things a celebrity partner has learned throughout this process and more. I want to show the judges — and, of course, the amazing fans — how versatile and flexible Katherine can be, and that she is the best all-’round dancer left in the competition. I can’t wait to get out there and do it already! Can you feel my excitement?!?
We are working extra hard this week. We’ve added an extra two hours to our daily rehearsals, putting in 8-10 hours at the studio. It’s my expectation that we will be harder, better, faster and stronger for all of you come Monday.
More at USA Today.
Also, below is Katherine talking about her favorite costumes and her favorite dance on Dancing With The Stars. She also chats about when she was inspired to sing. Cute video!
Performers Announced, Three Dances Outlined, And More In New ABC Press Release For Dancing With The Stars Finale
Who better to perform for the Finale shows than Dancing With The Stars Season 14 contestant and legendary singer, Gladys Knight? The amazing Kelly Clarkson (love her!) is also on tap to perform!! Also, note how the three dances will take place …one being a “24 Hour Challenge” dance on Tuesday!
“Episode 1410 & 1410A” — After 10 weeks of highly entertaining performances and phenomenal dancing, Donald Driver & Peta Murgatroyd, Katherine Jenkins & Mark Ballas and William Levy & Cheryl Burke have proven they deserve to be in the finals. But only one couple will be crowned champions of “Dancing with the Stars.” The three finalists will have their last opportunity to impress the judges and viewers on two final nights of competition, MONDAY, MAY 21 (8:00-9:01 p.m., ET), and concluding on the Season Finale, TUESDAY, MAY 22 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
In the final one-hour performance show on MONDAY, MAY 21 (8:00-9:01 p.m., ET), each of the couples will compete in two dances. All three couples will have the chance to show their improvement over the course of the season, performing a dance chosen by the judges that they have previously performed, but will be able to incorporate new music and new choreography. Each couple will also perform the unpredictable and always entertaining no rules Freestyle dance to music they have chosen themselves.
In the two-hour Season Finale on TUESDAY, MAY 22 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET), the excitement will continue with a stunning opening number with the entire cast and the Troupe. Tuesday night, all of this season’s eliminated couples will return to the ballroom to perform some of the most memorable routines, as well as a few new surprises, including a special musical performance from Grammy® Award-winning Gladys Knight, who will accompany a dance performance. Grammy® Award-winning superstar Kelly Clarkson will also light up the ballroom singing a medley of her hit songs “Dark Side” and “Stronger,” accompanied by Kym Johnson, Tony Dovolani, Anna Trebunskaya, Tristan MacManus and the Troupe. And in the final element of the competition on Tuesday, the three finalists perform a new routine in our “24 Hour Challenge” – in which they will have had 24 hours to pair their dance style of choice to music given to them after Monday night’s show. This routine will be scored out of 30 and will round out the judges’ scores across both nights.
Wow, they are making this harder than ever for the contestants this season and does this mean the judges have the final word? No way….not if we all vote like mad. :)

The LA Times has a great piece up with Donald answering questions on last week’s dance and pre-package. They ask how his wife has saved him. They also talk of the amazing support from Packer Nation. Donald also chats about what it will take to get a 10 from Len.
Q: What went through your mind when you saw Katherine Jenkins almost faint after her dance?
You just want to run out onto the floor and help her out. She is such a sweet person, you hate to see her in pain like that. Hopefully she’ll be all right.
Q: Judging by the tape shown before your last dance Monday, it seems your wife, Betina, saved you from going down the wrong path. How important has her support been during this whole competition?
When we started dating she put her foot down and said it’s either me or the drug dealing. I didn’t want to lose her so I knew what I had to do. I truly don’t know where I’d be without her. The support she has given me throughout our entire marriage, including this competition, has been amazing. Without her or the kids by my side I wouldn’t have been able to make it as far as I have.
Q: What is it going to take to get a 10 from Len? Maybe you should have your mom talk to him!
It’s going to take a perfect dance. No extra steps, head pointing in the right direction, etc., etc. Hopefully I make the finals and get a couple more opportunities to achieve perfection.
