DWTS Season 15: “All-Star” Season – Pick your Stars!

In case you missed it, last week I posted all the celebrities that have graced Dancing with the Stars with their presence and asked you – the reader – to choose your favorite star from every season. In that post you were only allowed to choose one celebrity per season.

Earlier this week there was a post asking you to pick six male and six female professional dancers that you would love to see back for Season 15. Since there were a lot of requests for the inclusion of the DWTS Troupe dancers, stick around for Friday to see what I have planned. But back to the celebrities:

I have compiled all the stars that have received the top votes in their respective seasons and put them all into two polls: Men and Women. Now you can pick up to twelve stars (up to six male and six female celebrities) that you would love to see come back for Season 15 of Dancing with the Stars.

Since the past several seasons have been twelve couples, I figured it would be best to see who you would choose for your Six Favorite Male Celebrities and Six Favorite Female Celebrities from across the seasons.

Note: I know it has been said that Mario Lopez is most likely not going to do Season 15 because he is too busy, but since this is just what the fans want… and he has been a popular celebrity, he’s still part of the poll. 🙂

Enjoy!

My life can be summed up in the following two quotes: 1) "I am married to engineering and am its faithful wife by day, but at night my wanderlust takes hold and the arts becomes my jealous paramour." and... 2) "Engineering is my safety net. Writing is my passion. Acting is my escape when the other two become too much." So where does dancing fit in? Pretty much anywhere at this point... =)

DWTS Season 15: “All-Star” Season – Pick your Pros!

You didn’t think I’d forget about the professional dancers, now did you?

In case you’ve missed it… last week, there was a post with polls asking you – the reader – to choose one star per season that you’d love to see come back for the “All Star” Season of Dancing with the Stars (aka Season 15). There have been a lot of pros that have come and gone throughout the seasons, so now is your chance to pick the twelve pros that you’d love to see come back.

I have included pros that have only been on the show for one season, those that have left the show for greener pastures (Alec Mazo, Edyta Sliwinska and Julianne Hough). So anything goes here.

Why twelve professional dancers? For the past several seasons the show have had either eleven or twelve couples… so I figured this season should include twelve couples as well. 🙂 I suppose we’ll see.

Enjoy!

Dancing With The Stars Lights Up Green Bay, Wisconsin For Donald Driver Softball Charity And Dancing Event

This past weekend Peta Murgatroyd, Derek Hough, Tristan MacManus, Chelsie Hightower, Sasha Farber, and Oksana Dmytrenko flew to Green Bay, Wisconsin to partake in Donald Driver’s 5th Annual Charity Softball Game festivities one of which included a show Sunday night. Sasha tweeted the pictures above. Also, thanks to Sasha Farber’s You Tube, you can see he and Oksana in dress rehearsals for the show below. You can see Chelsie and some of the other dancers from Dancing With The Stars in the background. What a fun dance…

Also, the Sheboygan Press has a slew of pictures of Dancing With The Stars Season 14 Champs, Donald and Peta, answering questions for the press and Peta throws the first pitch in the softball game. Below are just a couple of them. You can see many more in a fun gallery at the link.

Donald and Peta thanked their fans for voting for them. Peta also admitted that she’s been swept up in the “green and gold spirit”. Here is more in a take from the WAOW ABC Channel 9. Note how Donald’s team won the game.

“They had everything to do with it and I couldn’t have done it without them. I tip my hat off to the fans. Me and Peta did our part. At the end of the day, it was up to the fans to win it all,” Driver said.

His dancing partner Peta Murgatroyd says she can’t help but get swept up in the green and gold spirit.

“It’s out of this world. I haven’t seen anything like this before. It’s crazy. It feels so good to have the support of Packer Nation and Wisconsin,” Murgatroyd said.

“I knew Packer Nation would come through,” Bartz said.

Some fans say they’ve never watched Dancing with the Stars before. But because of Driver, they not only tuned in, but voted.

“When a hometown favorite wins it and brings it home, that’s huge,” Josh Marnocha from Seymour said.

Peta even threw out the first pitch, right down the middle. And as for the game? Driver can add a softball title to his trophy case. The offense took down the defense 22-10.

And below is a Fox 11 news TV report….

DWTS Season 14 – Dancing by the Numbers Wrap Up

Blah blah All-Star Season blah blah.  🙂  That’s months away yet and I don’t find myself interested in it. Yet. I’m sure that will change. Sooner or later.  I’m still thinking about the season that ended a mere two weeks ago. Because that’s who I am. 🙂

So, in looking at the way the show turned out, I saw a few people discussing what William’s REAL voting block was like. Some had a tendency to say “Oh, Katherine must have been killing it” or “Maybe William didn’t have it all along and he was getting by on margins” – well, being the nerd that I am, I just have to go back and LOOK and see if there are any conclusions to be drawn.

The final scores ended up being very close, with only one point separating Donald and William from Katherine.  In order to win, Donald or William needed 3,740 more votes per million votes cast to get by Katherine. Obviously, Donald got those votes because he ended up beating her. William, on the other hand, didn’t get those votes because he came in third place. Pretty simple, right?

That’s not to say that William WASN’T getting more votes than Katherine, because he could have been – he just couldn’t cover the spread.  I’m inclined to believe that William was pretty solidly in third place (and no better) all along – because of the pimping or in spite of the pimping, take your pick. Why do I think this??  Well, 3,740 is chump change when it comes to votes, but he couldn’t get past Katherine. While Katherine was a beautiful dancers, she was quite over hyped in the latter weeks as well (by the judges) – but she and Mark together were also very likeable.

The previous week, Katherine, William and Donald all had to get past Maria by the following margins:

–          Katherine needed just over 13k per million votes cast to get past Maria, AND;

–          Donald needed 8,700 votes per million votes cast to get past Maria, AND;

–          William needed 4,350 votes per million votes cast to get past Maria

They all did that and Maria went home – so it seems to me that she was fourth place all along. Those aren’t huge numbers.  However, there IS an argument to be made that Katherine was helped A LOT by her “back spasm” and the fact that people still think someone is safe with the high score. Sure, that could have helped Katherine…and maybe it did.  It’s hard to say for sure. But it seems to me that if people got lax on voting for Maria because she had the high score, it would have been William in trouble and not Katherine.  Because at the time it mattered the most, and with no sympathy vote in play, Willy couldn’t get past Katherine.  For that reason, I think the winner, 2nd place and 3rd place were pretty solid. I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

PureDWTS Readers: Do You Have Some Questions For Peta Murgatroyd?

If you haven’t heard yet, Dance Junkies TV is going to be interviewing Dancing With The Stars Season 14 champ Peta Murgatroyd tomorrow (Friday). She’s one of my favorite female pros. I’m so excited. 🙂

As before, post all of your questions in the comments section and we’ll be sure Stuart, Elena, and Rib receive them. Though please NOTE: We ask that you don’t ask Peta on her love life, break ups, or whatever. In my opinion, those questions are getting old, it’s not our place to ask, and really, it’s none of our business. Besides, Peta’s career and personality are fascinating. This is our/your chance to really ask her some deeper questions in getting to know more of her and what makes her “Peta”.

Also, stay tuned for the new Sharna Burgess and Sasha Farber interviews. Stuart tells us “they were great”. 🙂

DWTS Season 15 – All Star Cast Wish List

So what I’m going to do is start with a series of polls: namely you get to choose who YOU want to see from every season of Dancing with the Stars from Season 1 all the way to Season 14. The polls will be up for a few days… and once the polls are closed I will personally draw up how the top celebrities did in their season in comparison to the averaged data from all the seasons.

At the end of all the chosen celebrities I will create a mock elimination post and hopefully by then we’ll know who would REALLY be cast and I will do attempt to do the same for the casted celebrities – hopefully – before the show starts in September again.

Excited? Well you better be… soon you’ll have an example in the form of Mario Lopez and later of Mel B since they are the only two that we know of that has been approached for the All-Star season. If they end up being top in the poll of their respective seasons, wonderful! If not, well then those are freebie posts for you 😉

DWTS Season 14 Champ Donald Driver To Thank Fans For Support In Special Wisconsin Broadcast

On Friday there will be a special with Donald Driver and his family broadcasted all over the State of Wisconsin. The Sheboygan Press reports Donald will thank everyone for supporting him on Dancing With The Stars. Below is a take on some of the taping. Be sure to read the link for a two page article about it. You can view a gallery of pictures too. What a class act!! Note how Peta will be a part of the interview as well.

The special is “a real unique way for Donald to be able to thank all the fans and all the supporters statewide,” Lammi said.

During one of the tapings Driver said, “I felt the love from the beginning all the way to the end. The Packer Nation has been behind me for years. They wouldn’t let me down. So I’m glad I was able to bring this back to Wisconsin.”

Driver talked about receiving messages on Twitter from as far away as the United Kingdom and China.

“And I thank Americans,” Driver said. “This wouldn’t have happened without them.”

Hosted by WBAY anchor Cami Rapson and sports director Chris Roth, the special will include show footage, Driver answering questions from Facebook, an interview with Murgatroyd and a segment with Driver’s wife, Betina, and their children, Christian, Christina and Charity.

“We had a lot of fun,” Driver said. “It was a great experience for my wife and kids. We got to meet a lot of people that we probably would have never met in many a year.”

Driver said he’s switching his muscles to football.

“Now I’ve got to get to the physical side,” said the 13-year Packers veteran.

In Los Angeles, Driver said, he put in 12-hour days of exercise, doing workouts in dance and football “kind of hand in hand.”

He’d like to bring home “a couple more Lombardi trophies,” for his home display.
