Hi Everyone!! We thought it might be fun to look back on the last two seasons of Dancing With The Stars (Season 16 and Season 17) to get your “favorite” and ‘best of” thoughts. Katie Couric Site: ‘Do you want to see Katie on “Dancing with the Stars”?’ (Watch Repeat)

Hey all and for those interested, don’t miss seeing a repeat episode of The Katie Show today. This past May, Dancing With The Stars judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli guessed on the show as well as hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke Charvet. They talk of the 300th episode of Dancing With The Stars. Pro Louis Van Amstel also shows Katie some dance moves and then they dance. However, what’s extra is fun in watching this episode again is the cast trying to coax Katie into dancing for Dancing With The Stars Season 17. So, be sure to watch. You can also see our previous posting with videos of this episode at this link. I love too how they have this page set up at her site asking viewers if they’d like to see Katie on Dancing With The Stars.

Yes, I’m still holding onto this (pipe?) dream. Smiley-Begging

Derek Hough and Karina Smirnoff Party at the Beyonce Concert, and Kellie Pickler Makes Country Music Hall of Fame

Lots of little odds and ends from today, from Derek and Karina partying in the Dell Suite at the Beyonce concert, to Kellie and Derek being on display in the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. And if that wasn’t enough, Kellie’s video, featuring Derek, is being previewed on GMA tomorrow and will then play for 24 hours on GMA.com!! Also see PureDerekHough.com for links to stills from Derek’s movie.

Fashion 24/7 has a variety of pictures of Derek and Karina at the Dell Party which, unless I’m misunderstanding something, was backstage at the Beyonce show. More pics at  Socialite Life   and Zimbio of Derek and Karina at the event. From E! News:

Spotted in the Dell-hosted Hyde box were sexy couple Chris Evans and Minka Kelly, Seth Rogen, Jason Alexander, Derek Hough and Brittany Snow and boyfriend Tyler Hoechlin as well as a mini Glee confab of sorts with Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Naya Rivera, who brought along beau Big Sean.

Below is a short video of Derek talking to Bella Thorne (remember, he and Mark danced with her and Zendaya for a Disney thing).

According to Examiner.com, Kellie’s going to be featured in the Country Music Hall of Fame:

Singer-songwriter Kellie Pickler took her turn on the dance floor on this year’s season of Dancing with the Stars. Paired with professional performer Derek Hough, the American Idol alum was crowned the winner, and her finale costume and mirrorball trophy will find its way into the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The show trinkets will be showcased on the second floor of the landmark exhibit beginning on Wednesday (July 3).

That’s pretty cool. The Country Music Hall of Fame is a very interesting place, even if you’re not a fan of Country Music in particular. ALSO, Kellie’s NEW music video for Someone Somewhere Tonight, featuring Derek, will be shown (in part) on GMA tomorrow. After that, the whole video will play on GMA online. Can’t wait!! From CountryMusicRocks.net

ABC Television’s “Good Morning America” will air a sneak peek of Kellie Pickler’s new music video for “Someone Somewhere Tonight” tomorrow morning, Wednesday, July 3, during the 8:30 AM (all time zones) segment. The video reunites Pickler with her “Dancing with the Stars” Mirrorball Trophy-winning partner, Derek Hough. Once the sneak peek has aired on “Good Morning America,” the full music video will be shown exclusively on GoodMorningAmerica.com for the next 24 hours.

Vogue here with an UPDATE: Heidi has a link to watch Kelly’s new video featuring Derek at Pure Derek Hough now. Be sure to see it here if interested. Their dancing is out of this world. Kelly and Derek put all of their heart and soul into it. It’s so beautiful and passionate, it makes me want to cry!!!!

So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. PureDWTS Exclusive: Sharna Burgess Reflects & Talks On DWTS 17, Gives “Michael Jackson One” Show Review

SharnaBurgess2

Hi All!!! Sharna Burgess talked with us recently about the new changes for Dancing With The Stars Season 17. She also reflected on the past season of Dancing With The Stars and what her first year was like as a pro. Sharna was also gracious enough to give us a sneak peek into what the new “Michael Jackson One” Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas is like one of which I’m dying to see and maybe you are too? Lots more below with our beautiful Sharna and we thank her once again for taking time to answer a few questions. Without further ado….

1. Hey Sharna!! How are you and how are you feeling after your first season as a Pro on Dancing With The Stars? Is it everything you hoped it would be?

It was amazing!! It certainly lived up to what I had hoped and Andy surpassed any expectations people had of him. Truly I enjoyed every moment, creatively and emotionally it was challenging rewarding and beautiful.

I don’t think I could ever have prepared myself for the weekly roller coaster of not knowing if my decisions were the right ones, if my choreography was enough or did my concept make sense. Wondering when it would come together or did I have to re think everything. It always came together because Andy is such a superstar, he truly helped me make my ideas come to life. I also couldn’t have guessed that I would make the emotional connection I did with Andy. He was such an amazing person to get to know and become a part of his life.

2. How are you feeling about the new changes coming to Dancing With The Stars next season? Whatever happens, many fans like myself just hope you’ll be returning. Read more..

Vote for Your Favorites in the PureDWTS Season 16 End-of-Season Awards!!!

Ok gang, now that the hype has had some time to die down…it’s time to vote for your favorites & least favorites in this season’s end-of-season awards 🙂 Pretty self-explanatory – just select what you think is the best option for each category and submit it.  “But Courtney, you don’t have my favorite listed!!!” Yes, there is an option for write-ins…HOWEVER…

…after the absolute chaos that was the HUNDREDS of write-in votes last season, I’m going to really crack down on the write-in votes.  If you absolutely MUST write-in a response other than the ones we have listed (and I took great pains to include the responses that I thought would be the most likely choices for each category), you MUST do so with a certain format in mind…for example, if you were trying to write in “Zendaya & Val’s Argentine tango” for the best dance, you MUST do it just like I typed it – captalize the first names of the celeb first, then the pro; throw an “&” in the middle, and then put the type of dance after that.  Examples of what not to do: “zendaya val tango” or “Zendaya tango” or “any dance Zendaya did!!!!” Yeah, especially that last one – you get to choose ONE DANCE, not 13.  Any responses that don’t fit the scheme I just laid out are getting thrown out – sorry guys, but I just don’t have the energy (or desire) to weed through 300+ nonsensical, misspelled, & obnoxious responses.  Got it? Good.  Now vote away 🙂 We’ll share the results in the coming weeks.  Read more..

DWTS Season 16 – The Great Voting Controversy That Wasn’t

It’s funny – when people were complaining loudly last season about not being able to vote on ABC.com, no one paid attention. Well, except for Shawn fans, that is.  We were told we just had to deal, that Melissa won fair and square.  Hmmm….maybe not so much.

Not so fun, is it, now that the shoe is on the other foot?  I’m writing this post to explain to readers why this season was actually MORE fair, in terms of voting, than last season was – and why I think ABC realized they screwed up last season and weren’t going to let it happen again.

So, ask yourself this – as a long time, or even new, reader of PureDWTS, what happens when a whole bunch of people go to the website at the same time?? Why, it bogs down, it crashes and only certain lucky people manage to get through. Now, our server may not be the greatest, and you would think that ABC would have a much bigger one able to handle a lot more traffic…right? Of course – but DWTS is also watched by anywhere from 14 to 16 million people. When you have one contestant with 2.6 million twitter followers urging all her fans to create new email addresses in order to vote, in addition to all the regular users of ABC.com for voting, you suddenly have a situation where the website can’t handle the traffic and it just crashes. Pre DWTS Season 16 Finale Poll Results vs. ABC Voting Mishap Theory

DonaMadrina wrote to us and pointed out some interesting results on some polls taken before the Dancing With The Stars finale. With or without the ABC mishap in their voting system last Monday night, TV Guide’s polls tipped Kellie Pickler to take home the Mirror ball trophy at 59%, Zendaya received 27% pf the votes, while Aly Raisman earned 9% and Jacoby Jones 5%.

In a poll at Digital Spy, Kellie garnished 51.78% of the votes, Zendaya garnished 34.3%, Aly garnished 8.12%, and 5.8% of the votes went to Jacoby.

In our Poll at PureDWTS, Kellie topped the votes at 64%, Zendaya got 30% of the votes, and Aly and Jacoby both tied with 3% of the votes.

Lastly, and not that the Dial Idol polls are accurate always (as we’ve highly stressed in the past), but, they tipped Kellie to win as well. DonaMadrina has been watching this source closely and tells us she’s never seen such a “landslide in raw numbers for any season, but this season, there was.” Though another interesting thing to note is that alumni and Dancing With The Stars season 11 winner Jennifer Grey was a landslide winner in other polls at the time, but, not at Dial Idol.

It begs the question, but, with or without the voting mishap at ABC, Kellie was going to win and deservedly so in my opinion. What do you think and let’s see what Heidi thinks too? Thanks so much Dona!!!!

Heidi: Online polls are crap. Dial Idol is CRAP. I don’t feel that that can be stressed enough. However, when ALL the polls (or 95% of them) and Dial Idol together show a certain outcome it begins to have the air of legitimacy – or at least strong possibility.  But still, going forward, don’t hang your hat on one poll or another, and certainly don’t cherry pick polls to make your case. Any poll or Dial Idol taken by itself is indicative of NOTHING, especially when that poll can be spammed.  Word to the wise. 🙂
