Dancing With The Stars Week 2 Official ABC Unaired Confessionals (Video)

The couples talk of their dances last night back stage!! Priceless as always!! We’ll let the video do the talkin’ this time. 😉

DWTS Season 13, Week 2 – Dancing by the Numbers

Another wack ass night of DWTS. I mean, seriously?? A two-way tie for second place and a four-way tie for third place? In what freakin’ universe is JR tied with Kristin? He should be alone at the top of the leaderboard, as much as I love Derek and Ricki. That said, it makes virtually no difference, since the top 7 couples are within two points of each other. Madness. And considering who’s in the bottom we could get a surprise. Hope (heh) there was no Chmerkovskiy vote splitting – even though I didn’t think Hope’s dance was very good, it’s too soon for her to go.

After thinking about it for a bit, I think that Len was probably right about Ricki and JR, both – Derek said out loud that he went more West Coast Swing and that flip that Karina put in their dance was definitely Lindy-ish, which knocks a point off both dances (and yes, she HAS called a lift at the end or beginning on some (Derek) but not on others (Mark)). But both pros did what they had to do to make an impact with the audience and get their partner through the dance – good for them. Add in Carrie Ann and her random lift policing deducting another point and you have JR a point down from Ricki. That said, on twitter I proclaimed JR’s dance worthy of a 27, so to say I was shocked by the scores is an understatement. At the risk of contradicting myself yet again, I do appreciate that the judges are FINALLY keeping the scoring reasonable – JR’s score is the only one I was shocked by last night, when all was said and done.

Also, according to a British friend of mine, “Me old sausage” is indeed a term of endearment, so we can’t crack on Brooke too much. 😀 Read more..

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)

Dancing With The Stars Week 2 Interview Round-Up After The Dance Part 2 (Videos)

ET, Access Hollywood, and PopTvDotCom also interviewed the couples. But, first let’s go to CNN…

Here is Nancy and Tristan talking more about the wardrobe malfunction and the “sizemick movement”. LOL!!

Kym and David comment on the judges negative and positive critiques. But, they want to continue to have fun for what it’s all about. His daughter thought they should have received a “23”.

Dancing With The Stars Week 2 Interview Round-Up After The Dance Part 1 (Videos)

Good Morning after ‘dance night’ on Dancing With The Stars Everyone!!! If you haven’t told us your thoughts and rankings of all the couples dances last night, be sure to do so in the comment section of Courtney’s Power Rankings post HERE. Heidi’s new “Dancing By The Numbers” Post will be coming up shortly too. Stay tuned. In the meantime, here are some interviews from last night with our favorite Dancing With The Stars interviewer, George Pennacchio.

First up, and as some of you already know, Nancy had a wardrobe malfunction which the cameras had to quickly cover. See Nancy and Tristan talking of it below as well as their feelings on last week’s dance and the judges critiques this week. They are so happy they scored an “8” last night.

Lacey and Chaz talk of trying to defeat the odds and how they will do that if they get to continue which Chaz really wants….

Rob is smiling and can’t stop! Cheryl thought the judges words were encouraging which helps Rob’s confidence. They want to keep taking one dance at a time and take it slow to the top.

DWTS13 Week 2 Power Rankings

And tonight, ladies & gentlemen, is a prime example of why week 2 is TOO DAMN EARLY TO DO THE JIVE! Ranting post to follow later this week 😉

Tonight was a disappointment, overall.  Disappointing performances, disappointing judging, disappointing scoring – just…meh.  Seem like the quicksteps fared SLIGHTLY better than the jives with the judges, but not by much.  This cast is “surprising”, no doubt – suprisingly mediocre thus far, minus a few standouts. And you already know it’s gonna be an off-night when the judge that annoys me the LEAST is Bruno 😯

1.) JR & Karina – It’s nights like tonight that make me wanna kick Carrie Ann in the mouth…and kick Len in that old sausage he was going on about earlier in the night.  Could those two have looked like bigger assholes after this jive??? The whole crowd, plus Bruno, is on their feet & cheering – and these two look like someone just commented on their mother’s bedroom prowess.  Lighten the f*ck up, ya killjoys.  This was the only jive of the night that delivered on both execution & entertainment for me – JR was the only celeb of the night that really kicked and bounced correctly, and managed to look like he was having the time of his life while doing it…and Karina did, too!  Carrie Ann’s hung up on the “lift”? Good grief, I’ll swallow a lift or two if it means I actually get to see a decent jive! Len’s pissed that there was “too much Lindy”? Who the hell cares, since there was also some legit, well-executed jive in there, too? Honestly, with some of the truly unremarkable dancing I saw tonight – I’m more than a little pissed that these two got so hung-up on stupid stuff. But thankfully, 22 is still pretty damn good (given that their still tied for 2nd highest score, and the points spread drops down to 17), and JR was given the pimp spot for a reason 😉 As long as these damn judges can resist the urge to storyboard, I can still see him easily taking the MBT this season. 😀

2.) Ricki & Derek – High score of the night, and a fun jive.  But the best? Errr…maybe not.  It seemed awfully slow to me, and Ricki still seems to be working on getting comfortable out on the floor.  I was also a little thrown by how sexual it was – I’m no prude, but I’m also not used to jives being so…saucy. 😉 Content-wise, it may have been a litttle fluffy, but I’m completely disregarding content right now because tonight, content did not necessarily equate greatness.  But I will give Ricki props for being bubbly and excited, which is more than I can say for some of the other couples tonight.  Not a ton to say here – other than if they keep working hard and improving week after week (and the other couples continue to only do marginally well), they’ll likely make it to the final as well. Good Morning America Interviews Tristan MacManus And Val Chmerkovskiy (Videos)

Melissa Rycroft of Good Morning America interviewed Tristan and Val. Melissa asks Tristan on his career and personal life and Val talks of his family and all the sacrifices they’ve made for he and Maks to dance. Great interviews. But, be sure to read the link above for even more.

DWTS Season 13, Week 2 – Who’s Dancing What…and When?

Week 2 already and we have the Quickstep and the Jive.  Whoever had Cha Cha last week has Quickstep this week and whoever did V. Waltz last week has Jive this week.  I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m scared for Chynna, Hope and Ricki doing Jive.  Chynna and Ricki are older and both have issues that might make them have trouble with this dance; Chynna is tall and long limbed and sometimes the Jive doesn’t come off so well and Ricki is shorter but may have stamina issues. Hope is so gangly and athletic; it was well disguised in the V. Waltz, but I don’t know about this one. It will really require that she let go. I don’t think Rob will do that well at it either. Quickstep?? Hmmm…should be interesting. It *should* favor Kristin and Elisabetta – and the latter needs the help. The rest?? Could go either way, I think.

DWTS13 Week 1 – The Cheesecake Awards!

Finally! Here are the cheesecake awards!!  The first one of the season – we hope you enjoy.  🙂  They take a bit longer when you spend a lot of time cackling over screencaps. 😉

The Pottymouth Award: Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Courtney: Is it just me, or has Maks really developed an affinity for obscenity this season? 🙂 His package with Hope was littered with beeps.  Not that I’m complaining – sometimes I wish the show were a bit less PC and bit more…interesting.  And Maks cussing is kinda cool & hip…like a Russian Tarantino movie or something.  He’s Vikcent Vegavich.  Somebody get him a Royale with cheese and a glock…or maybe a Tokarev.

Heidi: Maybe he’s lost all Hope.  :::snicker::: Yeah, I used up all my good jokes on our other little project…the one with all the pictures. 🙂  Seriously, what does it say about me that I didn’t notice the swearing? 🙂

WTF? Costuming Award, Female: Cheryl Burke; (dis)honorable mention – Karina Smirnoff (for hair/makeup)

Courtney: It’s bad enough that you’re dancing to a song about Lake Michigan, Cheryl – why confuse us even further by wearing a dress that’s part bad Elvis tribute, part Xanadu, and part Liberace? The whole thing was just visually…baffling. Although the little arrows around the neckline pointing down did lead the way to the “business” area of the dress.  As for Karina – lovely, feminine, flowy pastel dress…with bright red Marilyn Monroe lipstick and a severe top-of-the-head school marm bun? Total disconnect there….did they have to change her dress at the last minute? I doubt it.  Is she trying to distract people from staring at JR’s injuries? Because he seems pretty comfortable with them (and joking about them!).  Who knows…but makeup department, please put her on red lipstick suspension until she can prove she deserves it!

Heidi: I think Karina can wear the really red lips…just not with that outfit and that hair.  Too much contrast…like my TV got out of wack or something. As for Cheryl – Chaz totally called it with the Elvis comment. What was she thinking?? If not for the cut down the front, it was like…an old lady ballroom dress or something.  You know, when your crazy grandma wears some wackass thing such that you don’t want to be seen in public with her.  Like…an old lady in a motor cycle jacket and leather pants….or…I dunno.  The whole thing has just thrown me off completely. 🙂  It makes me go all ageist and confused.

Courtney: It was a pair of shoulder pads and some clip-on earrings short of something my granny would have worn to the bingo hall on charity night….along with her matching “I <3 Bingo” hat & fanny pack (true story).   Read more..

Val Chmerkovskiy And Elisabetta Canalis On The Ellen Show

Ellen Degeneres chatted with Val and Elisabetta today on her show. They start the interview talking about Elisabetta’s shoulder injury and how nervous she is for Monday night since their scores weren’t that good the first week. Ellen asks if she’s pressured more to dance because of the George Clooney break up. Val lighten’s the moment by saying HE is feeling pressured instead. LOL Here’s a clip. Stay tuned as we hope to have more footage of this interview soon.
