Judge Julianne Hough’s DWTS Season 20 Week 2 Style Post, New Blog, And Cyber Bullying

This was originally meant to be simply a weekly post for Julianne’s style for week 2 of Dancing With The Stars, along with some info on her new blog, then things happened. So, we’ll start with the easy stuff, and go from there.

I thought Julianne looked GORGEOUS this week! I think everything came together perfectly– the right dress, the right hair, the right make up, the right shoes, the right accessories! But it’s more than that, she looks happy, and more and more for the last year or so, she glows! Even when I don’t agree with some of her fashion choices, she’s had this happy glow. She’s in a great relationship with a good man, and it definitely agrees with her. ANYWAY! Here’s People’s Style post.

And don’t forget, Julianne is the April 2015 cover girl for Allure Magazine, and they’ve got some stuff online. Some of this you may have seen from one of Vogue’s earlier posts, but you can go through her style evolution here, some gorgeous photos from her cover shoot here, video from her cover shoot here, and some of her beauty secrets here.

Don’t forget to go check out Julianne’s new website, she’s working on it herself, she’s not hired people to create it for her. And she’s doing a great job! Check it out, it’s simply called Jules. As all of you should know, Julianne has been working with Kind Campaign for some time now, because they’re a cause that’s very important to her.  And, she’s got posts dealing with the importance of kindness on her blog.

On Tuesday, she posted this, that deals with the cyber bullying that Charlotte endured. I’m glad that Julianne, and Tom, and Erin said something, because it is a rampant issue. Not just on DWTS, but everywhere. Julianne’s been a victim of it, but she’s never spoken up about cyber bullying, until it happened to Charlotte. And it was wrong, and I’m glad she said something on the show. I definitely DO NOT agree with the person on twitter that I saw who told Julianne that she was all wrong with her comment, because Charlotte “acts like a bimbo.  Reap what you sow.” No, Charlotte did NOT deserve to be treated the way. No one deserves to be treated like that, and making excuses just makes it even more wrong. You don’t tell a woman who’s been physically abused that she deserved it because of her clothing, and you don’t tell a woman who’s been mentally abused that she deserved it because of how you think she acts. Period.

Our friend Krystin Burtt has a discussion about DWTS and cyber bullying over on her new website for AfterBuzz, go check it out, read the comments, and then come back and share your thoughts.

I don’t think this is going to be an easy fix, and I don’t think this is something that DWTS will be able to solve on it’s own. But I’d love to hear your thoughts, and what you feel could be the beginning of a solution?

Rob Wade Discusses Dancing With The Stars And Who Is Returning With E Online

Rob Wade talked with E Online about Dancing With The Stars. He talks about Len Goodman and how long he may be sticking around for a couple of more seasons. He also says Julianne Hough and Erin Andrews are returning for Season 20. More below and at the link.

“The truth is there is still a chance that Len will be around for 21, either as a part of, a small part, a big part or a whole part of the season,” he spills. “I don’t know how we’d use him, but he’s very open to it. I spoke to Len two days ago. And then for Season 22, the spring, he’s very up for coming back. And if we can come to an agreement, he absolutely wants to come back. ”

While fan-favorite professional dancer Derek Hough is sitting Season 20 out, Wade confirms his sister and new judge Julianne Hough “is coming back,” telling us the show is incredibly happy with her debut season at the judges’ table. “This was her first season as a judge and I don’t think anyone has any idea how difficult it is to be a judge,” he says. “I thought she got better and better. She’s incredibly knowledgeable.”

Also returning? Co-host Erin Andrews.

“Yes, Erin’s back too. We’re very happy with the show,” Wade says. “This is a great family. We’re behind our cast 100 percent.”

Erin Andrews Dancing With The Stars Celebrity Wish List And More

E Online interviewed Dancing With The Stars co-host Erin Andrews. She commented on who she’d like to see on the new season.

Dancing With the Stars usually has at least one or two athletes competing each season.

But Erin Andrews, a former contestant and now host of the ABC competition show, doesn’t think her hot boyfriend, L.A. Kings star Jarret Stoll, should be one of them.

“I don’t think my man would do very well being in hair and makeup,” Andrews told me the other day while promoting her gig as a spokesperson for Florida Orange Juice. “He would not like that whole ordeal. He does love fashion, but I don’t think he would enjoy being in the hair and makeup trailer very long.”

But she would love to see Stoll’s teammate Jeff Carter try it out. “Jeff has the longest, longest legs and the way he skates he just looks like a gazelle,” Andrews said. “Whenever I watch him skate, he’s just like this gazelle and I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh! I would love to see Jeff on the ballroom floor.'”

More of Erin’s interview at E Online. Below is a fun video with Erin and People too….

Len Goodman, Witney Carson, And Emma Slater Talk About DWTS Season 19 And Other Media

I can’t figure out how to embed these videos (and I’m having issues playing them too), but, if you go Bing at this link, you can listen to Len Goodman talking about Julianne Hough joining the judging team. You can also listen to Witney Carson and Emma Slater talking about what it’s like to be back dancing this season here.

In other things, you can watch Val Chmerkovskiy playing basketball at the Daily Mail.

Also, Kristyn Burtt interviewed Erin Andrews about Dancing With The Stars. Below is her reaction on hearing about the Antonio Sabato Jr. rumor.

Right off the bat she asked, “What’s leaking? What’s going on? Of course, I am interested!”

She was thrilled when the name Antonio Sabato Jr. was mentioned to her. Andrews responded, “I’ve got to tell you I was a big, big General Hospital fan growing up. So I am not upset seeing that one.”

The TV personality also thought his shirt should come off early in the season. Andrews joked, “Oh week one, go week one. Let’s go!”

Lots more at She Knows. Can season 19 not come soon enough? 8O

Lastly, Mark Ballas will be releasing his new “Kicking Clouds” EP on September 16th. Below is the new cover. This will be on my must buy list. I love his new music. Read more..

Dancing with the Stars, Season 19 Premieres September 15, 2014

And that’s not all. According to an ABC Press release, Cheryl was partly right when she said that DWTS might go back to 2 nights.  Apparently there will be two special results shows (not counting the two night finale, I’m guessing).  I tend to assume that perhaps they don’t have other programming on those nights OR these two nights are a “test” to see if they like the numbers or not. :::shrug::: If it means we get more pro dances – preferably, choreographed by Derek and one of his SYTYCD buddies – I don’t care too much about the reasoning…

…unless they do something REALLY stupid, like a big, double elimination or some such thing. I guess we’ll have a better idea when we see how big the cast is. :-)

In addition, there will be two special nights of “Dancing with the Stars Results Show” this season, airing on Tuesday, September 16 and Tuesday, September 23, from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET.

Monday, September 15

8:00-10:00 p.m.

Stay tuned for more later. Maybe. :-)

ETA: Regarding Spring and fall seasons, from Glamour, via DWTSGossip:

*Paul Lee said that Dancing With the Stars will continue with spring and fall installments. There had been rumors that it would be cut to once a year, but Lee said that “the plan is for two installments a year.” Lee also mentioned that he’s very happy with the pairing of Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews.

ETA2: And regarding Erin…from ABC News Radio:

Finally, Andrews wanted to be clear to DWTS fans that she still plans to co-host the show.

“I am going to have time for Dancing with the Stars. That was all part of our negotiations with them. In February when they came to us, I kind of hinted when I took the job, I was going to be on the Michael Strahan program, now more so than ever,” she said. “He works crazy hours on Sunday, I’ll be doing the same thing. I’m literally going to be going from the football field to the ballroom just like ‘Stra,’ he goes from the studio in New York to his show with Kelly Ripa.”

And look who’s playing reporter!!

I'm a nerd and proud of it. Two degrees in geology also means I love BEER. :-) I'm also a Derek lover - proud of that too. So don't scream at those of us on this site and call us a bunch of "biased Derek-lovers" - it's just ME. :-) It may sound like I hate DWTS at times, but really, I'm just a snarky nitpicker from way back. And I'm cynical and jaded too. But I do love DWTS. :-)
