Hope Solo On Dancing With The Stars Maks Chmerkovskiy: “He’s crazy, I can’t dance….”

As reported to you earlier, Maks is campaigning and pleading with Hope Solo to dance and be his partner on Dancing With The Stars this upcoming Season. He even took to ESPN radio lastnight to do so. Today on ESPN, Hope addressed him during a post competition soccer interview with Japan. She said, “He’s crazy, I can’t dance, and I can’t walk in heels!” Check it out at the 4:11 minute mark. Her face just lights up when the interviewer brings up the topic.

Well, at least it wasn’t a definite “no” yet, right? I am really hoping this union will come true!

Heidi’s Note: Now we officially have three different interpretations of that interview!! :-)

Edit to add: Below is another ESPN interview where Hope mentions Maks should ask Coach Pia to dance instead. lol You can hear Maks’ interview on ESPN radio a little too.

Maks Chmerkovskiy Wants Hope Solo To Be His Next Partner On Dancing With The Stars

At the ESPY Awards this past week, Maks told People Magazine he wants American Soccer goalkeeper, Hope Solo, to dance on Dancing With The Stars. So much so, Maks has been pleading with her to do it. He even has some advise for her which you can read below.

“Hope Solo!” Chmerkovskiy, 31, exclaimed to PEOPLE at Wednesday’s 2011 ESPY Awards in Los Angeles when asked to name his dream partner for next season. “Let’s do it! I want somebody hot, I want somebody exciting, somebody passionate, and I’ll do the rest.”

Solo, 29, has led the Americans into the World Cup final against Japan. And Chmerkovskiy is hooked. “I’m watching every second of it,” he says of the tournament, which is being held in Germany.

And where do the Ukranian-born dancer’s allegiances lie? “Let’s set the record straight. I’ve been a U.S. citizen for 15 years,” he says. “That’s my team, and it always has been!”

As the U.S. gears up for Sunday’s final, Chmerkovskiy has some advice that could apply both to the pitch and the dance floor. “You better win the whole thing, just please,” he says. “Knock it out, don’t start slow and then have to catch up like we always seem to do. Just kill it in the first half, be done with it, and then cruise control over the rest of the game.”

And his personal message for Solo? “I’m waiting,” he says. “And please don’t hurt your legs.”

Wow, she’s beautiful! I love her intense eyes. I think this would definitely be a cool match up. They look good together. What do you think?

Heidi’s Note: Of course, people on twitter are assuming it’s a done deal that she will be on the show and be Maks’ partner, including Steve Weismann from ESPN. Normally, I would say they were all being idiots – just because Maks wants it doesn’t mean it happens. That should be very obvious by now. HOWEVER, considering the comments Maks has made about “special arrangements” and deciding to come back after apparently planning to take a season off, I have to wonder if Maks is dropping lots of hints about his actual partner. Of course, knowing Maks all the comments could amount to exactly nothing. I also think back to all the claims that Landon Donovan was a “done deal” to be on DWTS after his showing in the world cup.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy And Tony Dovolani On Returning To Dancing With The Stars, The Dina Lohan Rumors, Their New Dance Studio In L.A., and More

Below is more of Tony and Maks on the Red Carpet for the ESPY Awards. Hollyscoop TV caught up with the two to ask them about Dancing With The Stars. They ask them if Dina Lohan is going to be on the show next Season and they say “Who”? Then Maks says they don’t participate in gossip, but, he doesn’t care if she is on the show. Tony says he wants anyone who “WANTS” to be on the show and they have to be “committed”. Maks agrees and comments that if you don’t want to do the show and you agree to do it, you will just make 20+ million people mad at you (SO TRUE!!!). They also ask Maks if he is returning to the show and with a lot of heart, he said, “YES” and that there was a “special arrangement” (hmmm, I so want to know what this is all about?). The two are super excited about their new dance studio opening in Los Angeles in two weeks as well. Lastly, they ask about about Karina’s wedding and if they are going to attend and Tony completely changes the subject (stupid question and that interviewer knew better as she’s been around the dance circuit for a long time.) Until the Karina part putting Maks on the spot, great interview!!

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Tony Dovolani Represent Dancing With The Stars At 2011 ESPY Awards

The men from Dancing With The Stars are hotter than ever this summer. First, we have super hunk Derek Hough showing up in a sexy black tux for the Bafta Party in Los Angeles last week. Now, Tony and Maks grace the Red Carpet at the 2011 ESPY Awards lastnight. Above the two are seen with U.S Alpine Skier, Lindsey Vonn. She’d make a cool dance contender for Dancing With The Stars Season 13, wouldn’t she? She looks very nice with either Maks or Tony too. :) For more pics on this event, be sure to check out My San Antonio. Past Dancing With The Stars competitors Niecy Nash and Kendra Wilkinson were also in attendance.

You can also see Tony and Maks in the video below which explains how the ESPY Celebrity Golf Classic was formed to help contribute to Cancer Research.
