See “Forever Tango” With Dancing With The Stars Anna Trebunskaya And Dmitry Chaplin

Hey All! If you live in the California area (or even if you don’t), be sure to see “Forever Tango” in San Francisco at the newly remodeled Herbst Theatre. You can see the show from December 20, 2015 to January 10, 2016 on specific dates. Dancing With The Stars Anna Trebunskaya and Dimitry Chaplin are the leads. Below is more information from Broadway World. There is also a show at the American Bank Center Selena Auditorium in Corpus Christi, TX on November 7th. For more information on this show follow Dmitry Dream Team Facebook for all the latest.

Luis Bravo’s FOREVER TANGO, the internationally celebrated entertainment event that has been seen throughout Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Australia, will beguile and ignite San Francisco audiences at San Francisco’s newly remodeled Herbst Theatre for a strictly limited three-week engagement – December 20, 2015 – January 10, 2016. Starring Anna Trebunskaya and Dimitry Chaplin of “Dancing with the Stars” – and featuring vocals by Marcela Rios – FOREVER TANGO features 12 world-class tango dancers and an on-stage 11-piece orchestra anchored by the bandoneón – the accordion-like instrument that is the mainstay of tango music – in an evening that celebrates the passionate music and dance of Argentina.

Tickets for FOREVER TANGO range in price from $25 – $85. VIP tickets are available for $125 and include a meet-and-greet with Trebunskaya and Chaplin (90 minutes prior to performance), preferred seating and a FOREVER TANGO CD. All tickets can be purchased now online at cityboxoffice.com , by phone at (415) 392-4400 or in person at the City Box Office [180 Redwood St. Ste. 100].

“San Francisco has one of the most vibrant and active tango scenes outside of Buenos Aires,” says Luis Bravo, creator and director of FOREVER TANGO. “Ever since our first engagement in 1994, FOREVER TANGO has captured the hearts and passion of the San Francisco Bay Area. We look forward to our return engagement this December!”

Sensuous and sophisticated, the tango inhabits a world where everything can be said with the flick of a leg, the tug of a hand, the tap of a foot and the arch of an eyebrow. Hailed as “a must-see!” by the New York Times, FOREVER TANGO was voted “Best Touring Musical” by Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle in San Francisco where it played an unprecedented 92 weeks at the Theatre on the Square and has returned season after season. Truly an international event, FOREVER TANGO was also awarded the coveted Simpatia Prize at the 1996 Spoleto Festival in Italy. FOREVER TANGO opened on Broadway in June of 1997 for what was expected to be an eight-week engagement, ran for 14 months and has since performed on Broadway on three separate occasions.

Shows Wrapping Up For DWTS Pros In Ballroom With A Twist And Forever Tango (Videos, Photos)

What a summer it’s been for the run of “Ballroom With A Twist” and “Forever Tango”. It seems these two shows have never been more popular as fans every where went to see their favorite pros from Dancing With The Stars take to the stage. Broadway World has a little ending promo article posted today for Forever Tango raving about Karina and Maks.

Originally scheduled to appear for three weeks only, the couple previously announced a two-week extension after their triumphant opening night. Entertainment Weekly raved about their performance in Forever Tango, saying, “Dancing with the Stars (and formerly engaged) pair Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff perform to rapturous cheers from the crowd. The couple is, in a word, dazzling. Smirnoff glides beautifully, and Chmerkovskiy shakes his hips (and his booty) with such skill, it’s clear he was born with the talent.”

Here are a couple of videos from the show that you might not have seen before as well….

As for Ballroom with a Twist, don’t miss visiting their Official Facebook when you get a moment. There is a steamy new picture of Val and Peta on stage (I’ve always loved these two when they dance together.). Be sure you see the “Recent Posts” section by fans too for more even more pics of Val, Peta, and Tristan.

Tristan MacManus fans page also has some fun photos of the cast greeting fans and taking pictures backstage.

Peta also tweeted out this instagram of her herself doing the splits on stage with background lights. It’s captioned, “My love… My Art… My life… The stage will always be where I feel most powerful.” Beautiful and it about sums it all up for how our busy pros must feel right now after the dancing summer they’ve had!!

UPDATE: Check Ballroom With A Twist Official Facebook again. They’ve added even more new pics. Thanks to Elmari for the heads up!!

Maks Chmerkovskiy Talks Of Re-Inventing Himself, Moving On From Dancing With The Stars, And More

Do you think pro Maks Chmerkovskiy misses Dancing With The Stars? Wow, I’m shocked (but, I guess I shouldn’t be)at his answer…which is a “no”. 🙁 In a new interview with the NY Press, he tells them why. Maks also tells them if he was guaranteed a winner and a trophy, he’s not sure he would do it. More in detail below….

Do you miss Dancing with the Stars?
No.

Why not?
Because I think I’ve done it long enough. I think there’s nothing there for me to prove. I’m at the point where I need to set up my future. And if I don’t do it now by cutting the cord and trying to reinvent myself, I may never be able to after this comes to an end, which at one point it will. Or I’ll get old and won’t be able to dance. And at that time I want to be able to fall back on something that I’ve built. I want an extended career in this industry just because I can, unless someone tells me that I can’t. That’s why we’re trying my hand in acting. I’m curious to see how that’s going to work. It’s fascinating to study and learn a new skill.

I saw you on All My Children.
I hope you didn’t. But the point is that I’m not missing Dancing with the Stars because I think it’s unnatural for me to miss it. I’ve been there for 13 seasons. It’s been eight years. How long can I do this thing and miss it? If I did it once and never again, I’d miss it.

So will you go back to DWTS one day?
If they guarantee me a winner and the trophy’s mine, I’m going to look at it and go, “I don’t know if I have it in me to stay with somebody for three months and be into it the way I’m supposed to be.” And I don’t want to be unfair and jeopardize someone else’s chances.

Your brother Val also dances on the show. What’s it like being an older brother?
It’s a lot of responsibility, but I went from him being my student first. He was my best pupil. And it’s not like I have to say it. He was never a teacher’s pet. He was in his family-owned studio and never jumped out and was always part of the class. The problem was coming home; I just wanted a brother, and he was staying a pupil. So we had a bit of a transitional period maybe four or five years ago, and since then, we’re just best friends.

To read the full interview which includes questions on Forever tango and Karina Smirnoff, visit the NY Press. Thanks to @DWTSgossip for the find.

My thoughts: Sad. I kind of thought (and hoped too) we’d see Maks back for Dancing With The Stars Season 17, but, now I have to wonder? Also, I’m not sure I want him back now if he doesn’t miss it or have the heart. Maybe he’s destined for other things.

Let’s see what Heidi thinks….

Heidi: I think that if that’s how he feels, he better not be on the show. If he’s on the show now, he’s just admitted that he doesn’t have it in him. And good for him if he’s tired of doing it and wants to do something else – the alternative is being like Cheryl. Or possibly Mark. Both seem like they’ve moved on in their hearts but don’t want to quit.  But part of me is afraid this is a negotiating tactic on Maks’ part.  I hope not. But in any case, good luck to him.

Pure Dancing With The Stars Media Pro Catch Up

Our pros seem to be everywhere right now!!! For starters, if you go to this Getty link, you’ll see new photos of Maks Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff with Val Chmerkovskiy and Zendaya at their Forever Tango show over the weekend.

Kym Johnson and Sharna Burgess have been helping to put on “Dance With The Pros” in Niagara Falls. Sharna has been performing while Kym judged. You can view loads of Instagram photos at former Dancing With The Stars Edyta Sliwinska’s twitter account. Sharna has been tweeting out some pics as well occasionally.

Then we have Tristan MacManus and Anna Trebunskaya performing in Ballroom With A Twist. I just love this picture of the two of them dancing in this advertisement. You can also see more pictures and read a fun new interview with Tristan at MacManiacs.Org. Below is just a little teaser from the interview for what he answered about Dancing With The Stars. Be sure to read the link for way more.

Season 17 is coming up soon and while nothing is finalized yet, one of our site members was curious about your thoughts on the various theme weeks. If you could choose one Theme Week for Season 17 (one already used in a previous season or a different one), which would you choose?

I’m not really a fan of the themed weeks too much to be honest, but they seem to work so I guess we will just wait and see. I don’t mind them in moderation, I think, but not every week. I did enjoy the Halloween Week and Rock Week though. I like to theme each dance, and I prefer to see everything different than all the same because it’s too hard to compare anyway as it is, so it may as well be individual styles and just judge it on individual performances if that makes sense.

If you were a judge on Dancing With the Stars, what things would you look for in order to award a perfect 10?

For me, it’s just pure entertainment – I for sure want to see people try hard, but I would prefer to see them being able to enjoy it. In my opinion, you can only take the memories away from it so they may as well be good ones and not stressing over getting your feet tangled up. That’s really what people want to see – improvement each week and the realization and enjoyment out of improving every week. No matter what people say, their personal opinions of certain people will always cloud their judgment so when I’m watching, I take that out of it and ‘judge’ whether I enjoyed it or not. I always know when people smile because they are supposed to and do certain things and say certain things because they have to, but all I want to see is individuality and be entertained.

Peta Murgatroyd was seen shopping in Los Angeles, California yesterday(Monday) in some cute shorts and her hair pulled up. I wonder if she’s getting ready for another Red Carpet premiere? I hope so! 😀 Note: Peta will be joining the Ballroom With A Twist cast in August along with Val Chmerkovskiy. Adding: Derek Hough will also be joining the cast.

Also, Gleb Savchenko has been sharing some beautiful videos of Australia at his twitter account. They are beautiful and a must see!

And that is all for now except to send you a really fun heads up on Derek Hough. If you head on over to Pure Derek Hough, you can read about his upcoming “Symphonic Singing Debut”! This is going to be interesting to say the least for how this event will go down. One of the readers at Pure Derek Hough called Derek “The Modern Day Song and Dance Man”. Isn’t that the truth! Go Derek!

Ok, more later Dancettes!! 😉

And the fun continues with Dancing With The Stars pros Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy in New York! Below they dish with Access Hollywood about “Forever Tango” as they sprinkle cupcakes. Karina says she and Maks know each other so well and so long, Maks will speak what she’s thinking. This and their love for “Forever Tango” might be why doing the show is working out so well.
