PureDWTS Season 25 Rumor Watchout: General Hospital’s Robert Palmer Watkins??

So, according to Vin and his friends (thanks Vin!) who watch General Hospital, something is up with actor Robert Palmer Watkins. Note by the tweets below that he is stepping away from the soap (or cut?), but, a “new window” has opened. Note too that at this time last year, Robert was rumored to dance on Dancing With The Stars in Season 23. At the time he followed pro Witney Carson and the official DWTS twitter site. HOWEVER, the new window might not to be to dance, but, to star in a new movie called, “Last Three Days” which he’s been working on for a month. Whatever the case, we thought we’d post on it for fun and just in case something is in the works for Dancing With The Stars as well now or in the future. I really like this possibility. What do you think?

DWTS Season 23 Watchout: How About Robert Palmer Watkins?

Soap Central is reporting General Hospital’s Robert Palmer Watkins is all on board to dance on Dancing With The Stars after fans petitioning for him to dance. Usually petitions don’t pan out, but, I thought it was interesting that he is following @DancingABC and Witney Carson (screenshot below). Could something be up? If so, how do you like him paired with Witney? Thanks to Jamie for the first heads up.

Fans of the actor have been very vocal about how much they’d love to see Watkins compete on the show and have even started a petition, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by the heartthrob. “Apparently people are rallying for me to be on Dancing With the Stars. Been getting a lot of messages,” he wrote on Instagram. “For the record I’m totally on board!”

DWTS Season 20 Possible Rumor – Nancy Lee Grahn??

Guess who Val just followed. And guess who followed him back?? 🙂 I dunno if it means anything – it could be he’s finally following her after meeting her on General Hospital. He could be making an attempt at “clever”. But I do think Nancy has either been rumored before, or people have been campaigning for her. Why yes, she’s has been mentioned before for Season 11. Apparently she was on some sort of list.

Antonio Sabato Jr. Talks About DWTS, His First Dance, Cheryl Burke, General Hospital, and More

This is a fun interview with Antonio Sabato Jr.! Daytime Confidential asks him questions about his new home improvement show, ‘Fix It & Finish It’. They also ask him about a possible return to General Hospital and joining Dancing with the Stars. Below is Antonio talking about dancing. More at the link. I love this guy!

DC: Ever since the new DWTS cast was announced, viewers have been teased that Alfonso Ribeiro will do the “Carlton Dance.” Do you know if or how you’ll incorporate Fix It & Finish It, or other past roles like Jagger or your Calvin Klein modeling, into DWTS yet?
ASJ: I don’t know. Right now I’m just really concentrating on one dance, which is our first dance, [a Cha-Cha], which is the week from Monday. It’s such a huge challenge to be dancing like this with an amazing partner. That’s what I have to focus on right now. Then, if I make it to the next week, we’ll see what they do with me. So far, I know that we have our dance, and then there’s another song that they want us to dance to, which is a slower song. Now, all I have in front of me is one dance, and that’s what I’ve been rehearsing every day. We’ll see. I’m sure they’re going to throw out something fun to do, and we’ll do it. We’ll have a great time.

DC: Good luck, it seems like quite the challenge.

ASJ: Yep, it is. It is a challenge because, you know, I don’t have any dancing background of any kind, and this is something else. It’s a whole new beast. It’s just, like, the number one show in the country, and I’ve been asked to do this by my fans for the last 10 years, so it’s finally here. I’m finally doing it. You know? What a great time! I’m just so fortunate. I’m just taking it each day, one day at a time.

DC: You’re working on the Cha-Cha now. Did you have any say in choosing the type of dance you’re doing—
ASJ: No. [Laughs].

DC: …and is there one you’re looking forward to, like a jive or salsa, should you advance?
ASJ: I’m looking forward to all the dances. This one right here…you know, I mean I didn’t have a say in it, which might surprise you. They give you a week’s notice, and then you pretty much have seven days to get one dance down. It’s really something else. It’s a huge challenge. I’m looking forward to dancing Cha-Cha, but I’ve also got some time to go. I have one week to perfect it. As soon as I’m done [here], I’m going over to rehearse with [partner Cheryl Burke]. She’s probably waiting for me at the dance studio right now.

DC: You’re going to be very busy!
ASJ: A challenge is something I love confronting head on. Fix It & Finish It is a huge challenge to do 150 shows in a year across [the] country. I’m working a lot on renovations and demo, and things like that — things I personally do. Then, throughout that, I got another blessing. I got a call saying, “Would you like to be involved with Dancing with the Stars?” My first thing was, you know, “I can’t do it.” It sucks for the producers and my team. If they want me to do it, if they’re okay with it ‘cause Fix It & Finish It was my main priority. So, it all worked out, and now we have somewhat of a busy, seven-day-a-week schedule. I don’t have free time, but Dancing with the Stars is something I considered for a long time. My fans and my family are so, so happy that I’m doing this. I love the challenge. I think it’s an amazing journey that I’m taking right now. You know, Cheryl Burke is on the road with me right now, which is really cool. I don’t know. I just take every challenge as it is, and maybe they work. You know, I go to work every morning [and] I ambush the families and then I go into the rehearsals, and then I go back and keep doing work, and that’s a seven-day job. We’ll just keep going, [and] as long as I’m healthy, and I’m eating and getting some rest—I’m happy.

Baltimore Ravens Jacoby Jones Discusses Dancing With The Stars With NFL AM

The Baltimore Ravens Jacoby Jones is excited and ready to dance. He tells NFL AM that he plans to win and put the mirror ball trophy beside his Superbowl trophy. They show scenes of Jacoby in the end zone getting “jiggy with it” showing how he has some “moves” (hey, and he is not bad!). Jacoby also talks of the Super Bowl, his take on the team’s future, and lots more. Fun interview. Be sure to see and listen to it HERE.

Dancing With The Stars Is The Scariest Thing Ingo Rademacher Has Ever Done

And so the interviews begin for Dancing With The Stars Season 16 and first up is ….Ingo Rademacher!!! Ingo not only stars on General Hospital, but, he also likes to surf too. He tells YoloBoard that he can’t dance, but, things are going well with partner Kym Johnson so far. Here is more including his thoughts for how surfing might help…

YOLO: Can you dance?

Ingo: Not yet, but I really hope I’m going to learn. This is probably the scariest thing I’ve ever done.

YOLO: Who is your dance partner?

Ingo: Kym Johnson. She has won DWTS twice already! We’ve had a couple of rehearsals and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner. It’s working well so far but that doesn’t mean I can dance yet 😉

YOLO: Do you think your stand up paddling has helped prepare you for DWTS?

Ingo: Yes! Especially all the SUP surfing I’ve been doing lately in Hawaii on my 9’2 YOLO surf model, which involves a lot of squatting, balancing and lunging. But dancing is so different… everything hurts at the moment. When it’s all said and done, I think my legs will be in good shape for the 32 mile long Molokai race in July this summer.

You can read this interview in full at YoloBoard. Be sure to see the pic they are featuring of Ingo too. 😀

DWTS Season 16 – Rumor Round-Up!!!

Ok kids, we’re at about t minus 66 21 13 hours until the cast announcement, and it’s time once again to break down the various rumors we’ve heard about the cast so far – which, unfortunately, haven’t been too plentiful this season.  But hey, at least it has given our imaginations the chance to run wild and we may be in for some big, hopefully pleasant surprises on Tuesday morning 🙂

I went ahead and broke the rumored names into categories: the ones that we think are legitimate possibilities (names we keep hearing, from reputable sources), the ones that are a longshot (they’ve been a rumor, but they’re more likely to say “no” than the legitimate possibilities), the ones that have said they want to do the show or have campaigned to get on the show (but probably haven’t been/won’t be asked), the random one-offs that are usually referred to by a 3rd party (and not a reputable source or the person themselves), and the “endless parade of no” – the celebs who were reportedly asked to do the show, but turned it down.

ETA: Added a new rumor, and threw in some updates on others.  Things are starting to take shape! 🙂

ETA2: The rumors came flooding in today…and some of them seem pretty legit.

Legitimate possibilities:

Sean Lowe
Aly Raisman
Victor Ortiz – confirmed
Somebody from General Hospital – right now, all we know for sure is that it’s not Kristen Alderson or Nancy Lee Grahn
Kellie Pickler
Jacoby Jonesconfirmed during Oscars telecast
Lisa Vanderpump – already following new pro Gleb on Twitter, and vice-versa
Andy Dick
D.L. Hughley

Longshots:

Colin Kaepernick
Wynonna Judd
Emily Maynard
Kourtney Kardashian
Mama June
Katie Couric
Christie Brinkley
Jordyn Wieber

Wannabes/Campaigners:

Jerry Supiran
Finola Hughes
Tiffany
Dina Lohan
Perez Hilton
Bobby Bones
Barbara Evans
Deena Cortese
Shannon Bex
Maia Campbell
Miss America Mallory Hagan
Daniella Monet

Pure Randomness:

Billy Idol
William Shatner
Miss Alabama
Arianny Celeste
Tito Ortiz
Danica McKellar
Adrienne Maloof

The Endless Parade of “No”:

Eric Idle
Lance Armstrong
Lindsay Lohan
Bobby Flay
Ann Romney
Victor Cruz
Tori Spelling

Curious as to what pros we’re going to see/not going to see this season? Be sure to keep an eye on Heidi’s Pro Watch to keep up with all the in’s, out’s, and new faces this season.  And be sure to tune into PureDWTS starting at 7 AM EST on Tuesday (2/26), as yours truly will be live blogging the cast announcement on GMA…things could get crazy, kids.  You won’t want to miss it 😉

Dancing with the Stars Season 16 Rumors – Another General Hospital Actor??

Ya know, it’s kinda funny.  Maybe I’m getting jaded but every season it’s like: Soap actor, check. Olympian, check. Footballer, check. Struggling musician, check. Three people from the ABC family, check.  Come on, guys – I’ve heard that Michelle Stafford from the Young and the Restless would love do do it and she’d look great with Tristan. :::sigh::: Just think of the whole universe of TV people you could have on the show if you weren’t hung up on this network CRAP.  Okay….rant over. 🙂  Back to the point of this post.  Caroline Hinsey (@CarolynHinsey) is a columnist for Soap Opera Digest. A little bit ago she tweeted the following:

Carolyn Hinsey

I don’t know who the heck Alice is, but it’s not Finola Hughes, from what I gather on Twitter. Where’s Nathan? Educate us Nathan. Who are the likely contenders, if Carolyn knows what she’s talking about??

General Hospital Executive Producer Wants To Bring DWTS Val Chmerkovksiy Back To Soap Opera

Guess what? If scheduling works out, Dancing With The Stars pro Val Chmerkovksiy may be making a return to General Hospital. This time…to DANCE! Below is more from Access Hollywood.

“Yes, we would love to bring Val back,” Valentini told Access at the ABC post-Television Critics Association Winter Session 2013 bash in Pasadena, Calif., last week. “It’s a little trickier because of scheduling, but if we can bring back Val, you may see him do a little dance with Kelly Monaco.”

Val previously appeared on the soap alongside Kelly’s on-screen mom, Alexis, played by Emmy winner Nancy Lee Grahn.

This time around – if the scheduling works – the “DWTS” pro will appear at the Nurses’ Ball, the function spectacle-wearing nurse Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) is working hard to revive.

“Yep,” Valentini confirmed of the proposed storyline. “We’re crossing our fingers. That one is totally based on schedule. We love Val, he loves us, he had a lot of fun [last time on the show] working with Nancy.”

“Why not have Kelly and Val dance at the Nurses’ Ball,” actress Lisa Lo Cicero, who plays the newly-psychic Olivia Falconeri, told Access, when we ran into her at the ABC party.

Lisa said Val was on set when she filmed one of her more dramatic moments of Fall 2012 – when Heather Webber (Robin Mattson) threw Olivia down the stairs.

“What a doll,” Lisa said of the “DWTS” hunk. “He was there watching the day that I did the stunt where I got thrown down the stairs. It made us all nervous because we didn’t want to look like douches in front of Val… He’s pretty cool.”

For the full story and to read more details, see Access Hollywood.

Cool! I’m tempted to start watching this soap again. 😯

ADDING: The NY Press also interviewed Val. He talks of his music, Dance With Me Studios, General Hospital, Dancing With The Stars, and more. You can read it here. Below is a little take….

On a typical day, how many hours do you dance?
Unfortunately, not enough. I think I get all of my dancing out of the way during the season of Dancing with the Stars. This last season especially, I went through grueling training, not only as a teacher to Kelly [Monaco], but also as a partner. I would say I dance a good two to three hours a day. I only say that because I teach five hours a day. And I’m not one of those instructors who sits back and points fingers. I’m actually on the floor.

You also rap, and guest-starred on General Hospital. Are those things you want to pursue—singing and acting?
Yeah, music is my passion. I’ve played the violin for 15 years. In terms of hip-hop music, I grew up in New York and that’s how I learned English, through Biggie. For me, that genre is really familiar; I’m attracted to it. As a young kid, I loved poetry, so those two elements came together, and I started writing and creating hip-hop music. In terms of acting, I would love to pursue that as well. These are avenues that people, when they have an opportunity, jump at—and a lot them fail. I don’t want to do them just because I have some sort of celebrity status. I want to do them well.

How long do you plan on competing on Dancing with the Stars?
I have a respect for the show and am very thankful for it. Whatever opportunities I have now, yes, my talent has earned, but Dancing with the Stars opened them up for me. Even if I have other projects, my loyalty will always be to that show. Besides that, I think it’s an amazing show—and clearly millions of people enjoy it as well. So as long as they ask me, I’ll be back.

General Hospital Preview With Val Chmerkovskiy, Talks Of New Reality Show With Brother Maks (Videos)

“Were they or weren’t they”? That’s the question Wendy Williams asks the audience as Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy sat down to be interviewed on the Wendy Show today. Then she asks Val about the current idea of Maks and Val starting a new reality show. Val says they are currently still thinking the idea over and “they definitely want to do it”. More below including Kelly talking a little about General Hospital.

Speaking of, George Pennacchio of ABC7 in Los Angeles did a nice little spread on Val and his guest role coming up on General Hospital. The video below gives a little preview of Val in action on the set. Don’t forget, you’ll be able to watch his appearance on General Hospital on December 10th.
