As you know from a previous post Dancing With The Stars Edyta Sliwinska, Cheryl Burke, Gleb Savchenko, and Elena Samodanova have been performing in “Dancing Pros Live” in Niagara Falls. Kym Johnson came to visit them too. It’s so cool to see all of these faces again! Don’t miss seeing the show this week if you can. For tickets, see this link.
Aren’t the photos below fun? Last night, “Dancing Pros Live” with Edyta Sliwinska, Alan Thicke, Cheryl Burke, Gleb Savchenko, Elena Samodanova, and Benji Schwimmer premiered in at the Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls. From what I’m reading at twitter, Cheryl did an amazing job at co-hosting. The show is being described as beautiful, multi-talented & amazing! There was a special mention on Benji which I’m not surprised. When I saw the show last year, he was amazing. Don’t forget you can see “Dancing Pros Live” from February 18th-25th. For tickets and a fun video promo, see this link.
Just a reminder for those living or planning to visit the Niagara Falls area! You can see Edyta Sliwinska, Cheryl Burke, Gleb Savchenko, and Elena Samodanova in “Dancing Pros Live” at the Fallsview Casino Resort from February 18th-25th. For tickets and a fun video promo, see this link. I saw this show last year and I highly recommend it as dancers from all over the world dance in it.
It’s that time of year again and who knows what kind of funky will go down this season. Will Derek finally hang up his DWTS shoes? Will Artem get hosed again in favor of the ever annoying Val? Will Sasha finally get his chance? Will Sharna continue to follow in the wrong footsteps, making unwise statements? Who will take Allison’s spot? These questions and more will hopefully be answered soon. 🙂
I don’t want to hear about Jenna being dance captain. I think that is likely decided among the dancers themselves and I doubt it has any significance in regard to the show – maybe she’ll be a pro, maybe she won’t. Derek and Julianne’s dance captain was someone you’ve likely never heard of. So what?
Kristyn Burtt claims that the pros have been told rehearsals start on February 22 – it remains to be seen if that is true or if it actually happens. Last season was so…fluid…that we’ll have to wait and see. I do think we’ll start to hear stuff from those with a lack of ability to keep their mouths shut. 🙂 There are some Derek fans that worry his media sweep happening next week will include an announcement about his status. The media sweep is because of Disneyland 60 – if an announcement happens, it will likely be that he’s out. If he says nothing or hems and haws, it might be that he’s in. He’s a tough call, as usual Read more..
Last night the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour began in Birmingham, England. Below are a few videos that have came out with Gleb Savchenko, Anita Rani, Jay McGuinnes, Aliona Vilani, Georgia May Foote and Giovanni Pernice. If you live or plan to visit Britain in the coming month, be sure to get tickets now at this link.
This rumor keeps surfacing that Strictly Come Dancing in the UK wants Gleb Savchenko’s wife Elena Samodanova to dance in their next season. But, according to OK! Magazine via The Sun, they also want Isabel Edvardsson and Dancing With The Stars Peta Murgatroyd. They can pursue Peta all they want, but, I don’t think this is going to happen. I really hope it’s true about Elena though. Keeps fingers crossed.
GLEB Savchenko’s wife Elena Samodanova is wanted as a new professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing.
The Russian hunk’s partner is one of a number of international female dancers being pursued by the BBC show to replace Ola Jordan, Kristina Rihanoff and Aliona Vilani, who all quit at the close of the 2015 season.
A source told The Sun: “Elena would be perfect on the show and Gleb really missed her last year.
“Losing three such popular dancers will be a real blow unless we move quickly to sign up the best, most creative and captivating dancers.”
Others being chased as potential new stars are Swedish Isabel Edvardsson, currently on the German version of Strictly, and Peta Murgatroyd from America’s Dancing With The Stars.
The source added: “We want brilliant personalities on Strictly, but also brilliant dancers.
Be sure to visit the official Ballroom With A Twist Facebook page. They’ve posted some beautiful photos of the show and cast from their Christmas shows in Florida. Photo below of Gleb Savchenko, Elena Samodanova, and their little girl Olivia courtesy of Gleb’s twitter account. Beautiful!

LOL! More teasers for the Finals here. Many many thanks to Andrea for all of her recordings this season!
Be sure to visit The Skip Sheffield. They have some beautiful photos of “Ballroom With A Twist-mas” show in Boca Raton. They also reviewed the show calling it “nothing short of spectacular”. Read on for more…
The dancing, directed and choreographed by Jaymz Tuaileva, is nothing short of spectacular. The real show-stopper is “American Idol” finalist Vonzell Solomon. That girl, aka Baby V, has some fine pipes.
“Twist-Mas” features a live onstage band, with players who double as singers. My favorite is Chantil Dukart, who spent most of her time wearing headphones, hunched over her keyboards. But when she took off the headphones and hit center stage, that girl was on.
While “Twist-Mas” features favorite Christmas themed-songs both sacred (“Silent Night”) and secular (“Jingle Bells Rock”), the main attraction is the dancing, executed by first-class professionals. You even get a question-and-answer session with the headliners.
It’s been a longtime since I took ballroom dancing lessons from the late Miss Betty D’Avray. While the illusion is to look effortless, ballroom dance is deceptively difficult and a lot of work. If you can appreciate that, you will love this show. I know I did.
What was it like to grow up in Russia learning to dance? As previously reported, BBC Radio 4 in the UK did a special on it today called “Strictly Russian”. Let’s just say, it wasn’t easy. Dancers Gleb Savchenko, Kristina Rihanoff and more pros comment on it. Thanks to Andrea for recording. This is completely fascinating!
