Drum rolls please….and the official cast of the new Dancing With The Stars Live “We Came To Dance” Tour is: Lindsay Arnold, Alan Bersten, Sharna Burgess, Artem Chigvintsev, Hayley Erbert, Jenna Johnson, Keo Motsepe, Gleb Savchenko, Emma Slater, and Valentin Chmerkovskiy. Below you can read a preview with quotes from Val via ABC.
Val Chmerkovskiy is one of 10 professional dancers who are set to embark on the “Dancing With The Stars Live!” tour, kicking off this winter.
“Dancing with the Stars: Live! — We Came to Dance” kicks off December 16 in Reno, Nevada. The tour will stop in 43 cities before concluding February 14, 2017, in Costa Mesa, California.
Chmerkovskiy who won the 20th season of “Dancing with the Stars” with actress Rumer Willis last year, told ABC News that although it’s his fifth tour in a row, he’s looking forward to getting back on the road.
“I get to perform all the time, but I just never get over it,” he said. “For as long as my body allows for it, I want to keep going.”
The pro dancer will be joined by special guests, along with other fan favorites from “Dancing With The Stars,” including Lindsay Arnold, Alan Bersten, Sharna Burgess, Artem Chigvintsev, Hayley Erbert, Jenna Johnson, Keo Motsepe, Gleb Savchenko and Emma Slater.
Tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. ET on DWTSTour.com.
Chmerkovskiy, 30, said fans of the ballroom dance competition can expect “more character driven performances rather than … a bunch of dances” on tour.
He’s especially looking forward to partnering with other pro dancers, whom he’s usually going head-to-head against in the ballroom.
“Our female professionals have definitely stolen the spotlight in the past couple of seasons,” Chmerkovskiy said. “They’re incredible. Each one brings something different. Each one has a different flavor, a different style and I love kind of fusing my own style [with theirs.] I’m only as good as my partner.”
I don’t remember if we reported this here or not, but back in August Derek was asked to perform at Hollywood’s Night Under the Stars, hosted by George Clooney and with a true A list group of people attending and/or performing. MPTF’s Mission Statement: MPTF supports our entertainment community in living and aging well, with dignity and purpose, and in helping each other in times of need.
Anyway, tonight was the night and Derek followed Hugh Jackman! He’s keeping fine company these days. He performed a number from Singin’ in the Rain with Hayley and Brittany and some of his non-DWTS related dancing friends. He followed that with an Argentine Tango with a great dancer whose name is escaping me at the moment. There are a ton of photos and a bit of video on PureDerekHough.com. Here’s a selection.
Had a few opportunities to talk with @derekhough at a few events and sat and talked with him for an hour at a #veggiegrill randomly and I have to say he is an honest kind hearted soul and check out this video of him tonight at the #MPTF event.
