PureDWTS Season 16 Post Elimination Media, Numerology Prediction Correct, And More

We have lots of fun post Dancing With The Stars Season 16 elimination interviews and media to share with you this morning, but, first we’d like to commend reader @DonaMadrina. She nailed it in her Numerology Report that she sent to us for the new Zodiac post this season. She made us a graph in gif form so we could take a look at this again….

With that said, I’d just like to comment how much I loved last night’s finale. I think my only complaint of the whole night (like many others) was Zendaya’s flat shoes. Other than that, it was so cool seeing Sharna and Andy’s phenomenal Mad Hatter Lady Gaga Jazz number again. What’s more, they made it a huge dance production. And how about Dorothy Hamill and Kristi Yamaguchi’s dance with Henry and Sasha? What a “moment” that was. I also loved the performances by Wynonna (what a powerhouse), PSY (I’m so addicted to that crazy song and dance production now. lol), and Pitbull. A night to remember for sure!! Ok, so let’s get right to some elimination interviews with Access Hollywood. Derek and Kellie, Aly and Mark, and Jacoby and Karina reflect on the season and how happy they are for this experience. Sorry, there isn’t anything posted for Val and Zendaya (yet anyway?)….

Why not just fess up and admit you want Zendaya to dance again cuz this is your last chance to pimp the crap out of her. Dancing with the Stars Season 16, The Finale – Who’s Dancing What…and When?

And does anyone still care?? I’m trying to care, really I am.

Thought for the day: I looked up the actual definition of “social engineering” which lead me to “confidence trick” and “exploits characteristics of the human psyche”. Just sayin’.

This is how it stacks up so far. I don’t think the dance order has really mattered for a couple weeks in terms of voting. I think at this stage it could have more of an impact on the judges scoring. They could put Kellie and Zendaya first and judge the other two against that bar. Or Zendaya and Aly – I’m still not sure, however, that their love affair with Aly wasn’t a product of not wanting Ingo in the finale. Same for Jacoby. I thought he was great, but I sense that he’s seen his last 30′s if he’s not getting the lion’s share of the votes. Anyway, here are the dances – think Kellie was the least favored here, not sure. Also note that I’ve not included the instant dance on Tuesday night. As previously reported, only the top three perform that. Someone is told they are fourth place right at the beginning of the show…or within the first hour, anyway.

If I were a betting woman, I would say this will be the order…

Zendaya and Aly both having Samba strikes me as…fishy. I need Courtney the ballroom dancer because Samba doesn’t strike me as the “easiest” dance of the four that were handed out, but I’m honestly not sure who, if anyone, is getting hosed here. I think the Samba ladies have an easier “fake it till you make it” dance – the same can’t be said of Quickstep. I think probably Jacoby is probably the worst off, even though he LOVES to Jive. He’s FUN, but is he technically a good jiver??

Kym Johnson Writes On Her Summer Plans, Rehearsing For The DWTS Finale, And More

Kym Johnson has written a new blog for Life And Style Magazine thanking all of her fans for the ride this season. She also thanks her partner Ingo Rademacher. However the show isn’t over. As soon as they get back from New York City (they will be on LIVE with Kelly and Michael today), they are headed to rehearsals for next week’s show. Below is more including her plans for the summer. Note how she also has a soft spot for Kellie Pickler….

Our schedule still hasn’t slowed down one bit! After we get back to LA from NYC, we’re headed back to the dance floor for the live finale. When this is all over, I’m going to Australia for a week. I’m so excited to see my family. It’s going to be really nice and I can’t wait!

But before I can head Down Under, there’s still a DWTS finale and I’m trying to place my bets on a winning couple – but I just can’t! It’s going to be a really tough finals. The four couples that are remaining are all very good, so it’s going to be tight! I don’t know if anyone has an idea of who’s going to win. It’s a tough call, but it’s going to be great fun to watch. That’s all I can say.

Not only did last night’s episode make me realize how remarkable my journey with Ingo this season has been, but it also gave me an opportunity to reflect on my DWTS career thus far. Last night we celebrated the 300th episode and literally, everyone was there. It’s such an achievement and accomplishment.

I’ve had the most incredible experience doing this show and it’s brought me much happiness and success. There are just so many great moments and I feel lucky.

Words can’t express how grateful I am to have been a part of such an amazing season, with not only an amazing partner, but an amazing cast as well. Of course I’m going to miss Ingo, but I’m also going to miss talking with Kellie. She’s just adorable and so nice to be around. I’ve got a soft spot for her.

Don’t you just love Kym? Let’s hope we see her back on the show next season as a pro!! I think she’s one of the best dance teachers this show has. Would you agree?

DWTS Host Tom Bergeron Is Interviewed About The 300th Episode, The Finals, New Format, and More

Below is Tom Bergeron talking with Fox 11 (thanks to Elmari for this gem) and Access Hollywood about Dancing With The Stars, the 300th episode, the Finals and why they decided to go with 4 couples, America’s Funniest Videos, and more. I always love interviews with Tom…

OK Magazine also has an article up with Tom and Bruno talking about the 300th episode and the new format next season…

“I’m a glass half full kind of guy,” says Tom. “I get the rationale behind it. There’s no denying the numbers have been slipping. On the plus side we still beat The Voice last night by two million viewers, but they are beating us in the demo and that’s what the advertisers look to and that’s the strategy behind, I think, pushing the Tuesday viewers into a Monday show.”

While the logistics of the new format have yet to be worked out, Tom thinks eliminating an hour from the series each week will help the show feel more robust in its content.

“There have been times in the past, and this will not come as a news flash to you, late in the season we’re stretching to fill two hours,” he admits. “It’s sort of like, how much water can you put in the soup? This will afford us the luxury of not having to worry about that. We’ve gone from sometimes stretching to fill the three hours to now saying, okay, we’ve got an embarrassment of riches here with what we can do in two. Interestingly the research we’ve had over the past few years shows that only about 40 percent of our Tuesday viewers have watched the Monday show. I would’ve thought there’d be much more crossover.”

Judge Bruno Tonioli supports the changes as well and is excited to see what the production team will do to rework the series. Of course, cutting back on the number of hours DWTS is allotted each week probably means we won’t have the opportunity to see Bruno strut his stuff on the dancefloor again, like he was coerced into doing with Peta Murgatroyd and Sean Lowe during their encore “YMCA” performance this season.

“When they made me do the ‘YMCA’—that wasn’t expected,” says Bruno. “That was a surprise because I thought I only had to kind of mess around and then I had to turn up and learn the whole routine with 25 year old dancers. You should have hear my language—it was not for printing. But then after that I really enjoyed it so it was going back after 30 years of dancing sharing the stage with the kids, which I really enjoyed. In retrospect it was good. If I had known I would have said no.”
