Louis Van Amstel Interviewed About His Time On DWTS, Dancing In “Dance Legends” (Preview)

For those Louis Van Amstel fans out there!! PureDWTS reader Carlos has sent us an exclusive interview that took place with his friends Érico and Isaias’! Both are Dancing With The Stars fans and Érico has a blog that focuses on “Dança dos Famosos” (the Brazilian version of Dancing With The Stars). Isaias also posts at PureDWTS on occasion (and I think Erico has too?). They are also from Carlos’ Brazilian Dancing With The Stars Facebook Page (which is a fun spot if you are looking to discuss Dancing With The Stars from Brazil and every country). So, without further ado, here is this fun new interview with Louis. I love when they ask Louis how Dancing With The Stars has changed his life. They also ask him about his favorite dance (any guess to what that is before you start reading?), how he would evaluate his time on the show, and choreographing for Dancing With The Stars behind the scenes. Lots more below (as well as a news item on Louis afterwards). THANK YOU CARLOS, ERICO, and ISAIAS!!!!

Érico’s questions:
1- Hello Louis. You are one of the most experienced teachers on DWTS. How do you evaluate your participation during all these seasons?
I can honestly say I have no regrets on the show. I put a lot of work into each season and play the hand that is dealt to me. All of my partners have been so amazing, I am so thankful for each one of them- and remain in contact still. A lot of my participation is behind the scenes as well. They ask me to choreograph the group dances often, and that’s a lot of fun to be able to do for all of my friends!

2- What’s the best partner you ever had? Which partner did you like the most?
I can’t say I had a “best” partner because they were all so great- but the one I am most proud of and I love to death is Kelly. She made such a transformation right before my eyes and before America’s eyes, and became such a lovely beautiful woman- not that she wasn’t already. She became healthier, eating right, exercising, and her skills improved so much. It was so great to see and be apart of it. And we still keep in contact and have a great relationship.

3-Among all the partners you’ve had… With which one felt closer to victory?
Definitely Kelly! We made it to 3rd place! That felt like a win to me. Especially all that we went through together.

4- How did the show changed your life?
I would say it has enhanced my professional life. Since they asked me to be on the show I have gained a lot of notoriety, and it is also how LaBlast started. It has always been my goal to help people feel better about themselves from being healthy and exercising- and LaBlast is a program designed to help people exercise while having fun by doing a lot of the dances you see on Dancing With The Stars!

5- I know it is a difficult choice. But what’s your favorite season, why?
That is difficult! This last season with Sabrina Bryan was one of my favorites. All the dancers have been doing this for a while now, and we have become very close to each other. That makes it a lot of fun, we have become a crazy family lol. And then having Sabrina as a partner was amazing, she is such a great talented girl- its a shame she wasn’t able to show American all that she was capable of.

6-How do you deal with the repercussion the program has worldwide? Have you ever imagine that the show would reach so far? How is the reception from fans from other countries?
Stemming from the BBC British version, it has really taken off here and in other countries. I have noticed that it has been very well received, a lot of people watch it and not just Americans. When they asked me to join the cast I knew I wanted to do it and it would be a lot of fun, but I never thought it would turn into something so popular!

7- Sabrina suffered another shocking elimination with you last season. What do you think about the DWTS’ elimination system? Is it fair?
Yes, that was a hard thing to go through. The elimination system is tricky because unfortunately its not about the skill of the celebrity and how well he or she does with their Pro partner, the elimination system is based on the popularity of the celebrity- so people with a larger fan base are always going to be ahead of those that don’t. Hopefully they will start to change that.

Isaias’ questions;
8- Some people considered All Stars Season a mistake. Do you agree and why?
I can see how they can see that but I don’t think so. I think its great to switch it up every once in a while, it keeps the show fresh and it keeps people watching

9-You choreographed DWTS live tour twice. What’s the sensation of dancing to a lot of people in other cities from Detroit and Seattle?
It is absolutely amazing! It’s one thing to dance in front of the live studio audience and knowing it will air to millions of people- but actually doing it live in front of them is a whole new ball game. Its much much different, such a rush!

10- Which dance you like the most?
That’s a hard question! I really love the Latin dances, that’s what I competed in professionally. Rumba, Salsa, Paso Doble- the Latin dances are so fierce and they have so much raw emotion- its a lot of fun! And sexy! lol

Just a side note! Louis will be performing this weekend in New York City in “Dance Legends” with Julie Fryer! Below is beautiful preview of them rehearsing. For ticket and show information, see this link.

I'm a fashion and music nut....and I have always loved dancing too of any kind. Dancing With The Stars seems to have this way of bringing all of those things together. Derek Hough (one of my favorite dancers) said at a recent Get Healthy event that ‘dancing’ is an outward expression of what is going on inside you. He says that in some ways, everyone dances and it's so true. To TPTB, how about Sam Palladio's "Fade Into You" (this version sung by WilUnleashed) for a V. Waltz?

Louis Van Amstel Chats On LaBlast, The Next Season Of Dancing With The Stars, And More

LouisVanAmstelChristmas

Dancing With The Stars pro Louis Van Amstel is in Dayton, Ohio this week to teach his LaBlast program. In doing so, he gave FOX45 in Dayton an interview. He promotes his LaBlast program, but, he also talks of Dancing With The Stars. He thinks last season’s All Stars was the best season and he’s looking forward to this next season.

He also speaks of his most challenging and best partner on Dancing With The Stars which has been has been Kelly Osbourne for how much it helped and changed her. She recently said the same. Louis said she turned into a princess by the end of dancing With The Stars. It was also after Kelly he was inspired to make his LaBlast program so people could dance to lose weight.

At the end of the interview, they ask Louis on his next Dancing With The Stars partner. He explains how the pros will be the last to know. They won’t find out their celebrity until a couple of days before the public knows. Lots more at FOX45.

If you’d like to know more on LaBlast, be sure to check Louis official site.

DWTS 15 All-Star Cast Rumors List: Who’s In, Who’s Out, Who’s a Maybe, Who Knows???

With all of the coverage of the upcoming all-star season we’ve been doing, we realize it can get a little hard to keep up and remember who’s said yes, who’s said no, who’s just a maybe, etc.  So for the sake of maintaining everyone’s sanity and trying to keep at least some degree of organization, here’s a handy list of what celebs we’ve been covering as it pertains to the all-star season, broken down by their original season, along with a brief summary of where they stand.  We’ll keep this post stuck to the main page until the cast announcement, and we’ll post updates in red as they come in.

ETA #1: Updated with coverage of Joey Fatone & Trista Sutter, and an update of Ralph Macchio.

ETA #2: Added info on Kelly Monaco.

ETA #3: Update on Maria Menounos.

ETA #4: A little over 24 hours until the cast announcement and updates & rumors coming fast & furious! Thanks Vogue & Heidi :-) Updates on Gilles Marini, Joey Fatone, Melissa Rycroft, Stacy Keibler, Kendra Wilkinson, & Carson Kressley; added info on Melissa Joan-Hart & Pamela Anderson.

Season 1:

Trista Sutter – a few interesting tweets that seemed to imply she was heading somewhere to do something secret, but now says she is definitely not taking part in the all-star season :-(
Kelly Monaco – hinted at a GH fan event that she was “going to need fans’ help with something that’s getting announced next Friday!”

Season 2:

Stacy Keibler – played coy, said “possibly” if she was asked to return; says we’ll “have to wait & find out”; rumored as a possible X-Factor host; Entertainment Weekly claiming she’s not likely to do the show
Drew Lachey – said he “had a blast and would be open to doing it again”, but wasn’t sure how things would play out

Season 3:

Jerry Springer - said he may do SOMETHING for the show and would love to be in the audience, but wouldn’t dance again
Mario Lopez – spilled the beans about being asked to do the all-star season on Live with Kelly way back in May, and was thinking about it; however, he now says he’s “too busy” and “doesn’t think he’ll be able to do it” – mentioned as a rumored candidate to host X-factor
Joey Lawrence - asked fans on Twitter to vote for him to get on the all-star season

Season 4:

Joey Fatone – says he isn’t really sure if he’d do it or not, and that he hasn’t gotten a call yet; Entertainment Weekly claiming he’s “likely” to do the show Read more..

Keeping An Eye On Former Dancing With The Stars Alumni And New Gig On The X Factor

This story raised one of my eyebrows this morning being several of our almuni from Dancing With The Stars are being considered for the new co-hosting job on the X-Factor this fall. As you know from our previous reports, several of the names listed below have either teased about returning, mentioned they aren’t sure about returning, and/or have been rumored to be dancing again on Dancing With The Stars during this same time period. Read below to see what I mean. If one or several of them are picked, does this mean they are out for the new season of Dancing With The Stars? From Entertainment Weekly. Look for our Miss Heidi’s thoughts after you read this.

Simon Cowell doesn’t want to make the same mistake twice.

The X Factor chief is taking his own sweet time finding the ideal host for the second season of the Fox version of his hit show. Unlike last year, when host-bot Steve Jones handled the show solo, Cowell wants two people for the gig this fall. And instead of having a host on the singing competition from the very start, the audition rounds (which are already being shot) will be host-free. “I want to work with a boy and girl and I definitely think this is a role for two people,” Cowell recently told reporters. “[We] have narrowed it down to 5 people.”

Some names we’re hearing are under consideration: BET personality Rocsi Diaz, actor and America’s Best Dance Crew host Mario Lopez and actress/model Stacy Keibler. Add to that some names E! Online is hearing: Khloé Kardashian, Kelly Osbourne, BET’s 106 & Park host Terrence J, sportscaster Erin Andrews and radio personality Mike Catherwood (more names below).

Sources emphasize that prospective hosts are still being interviewed and actual testing for the gig is not expected for several more weeks. “They want to make sure the duo has chemistry,” one insider said.

Heidi: Reeeaalllyyy…at least Steve was nice to look at…the ONE time I watched the show. :-) Call me crazy, but I don’t think ole Simon is going to be able to duplicate the success he’s had in the UK with this show. And really, dude, “boy and a girl?” These are all grown ass people you’re talking about here!! And guess what? You’re not making me any more inclined to watch the show. You’ve managed to pick some of my least favorite DWTS people, with the exception of Kelly. Erin Andrews? No. Although I did hear that she’s quit her ESPN gig….or something like that. To claim that I follow Erin’s activities would be over stating it tremendously. Oddly enough, out of this group, I think I would like Khloe best. Crazy right? Khloe and Mike?? Could be awesome…or so trainwrecky as to be a blast to watch. :-D

As to Vogue’s question about if doing XF rules them out for All Stars – most definitely, I would say. It might be in the studio next door, and they would likely have plenty of time…but DWTS hasn’t crossed network lines before for their “stars” so I don’t see them starting now. Unless desperate. :-)

I guess the real question is…is EW full of crap or have they got a legit source on all this??

Joe Jonas, Rob Kardashian, And Ali Fedotowsky Asked About Dancing On Dancing With The Stars

This past weekend, Extra caught up with Joe Jonas, Rob Kardashian, and Ali Fedotowsky on the Red Carpet at the 2012 Miss USA Competition. When asked, Joe and Ali said they may do Dancing With The Stars in the future. It would depend on “scheduling” for Joe. Ali said she’d need some “liquid encouragement”. Extra also asked Rob if he’d come back for the Dancing With The Stars All-Star season. He said it “sounds fun”, it’s “a lot of hard work”, and he has “no idea”. Kelly Osbourne was interviewed too, but, they didn’t ask her about Dancing With The Stars.

So, what do you think about Rob returning for the All-Stars Season if he was asked to do it? I liked him. I think he’d be fun to see dance again.

As for Ali and Joe, bring them on for Dancing With The Stars Season 16. They’d be fun.

Pure Dancing With The Stars Season 14, Week 8 Odds And Ends Weekend Special

What do we have here? Well, pull up a chair, grab a drink of your preference , and let’s see. :)

First up and courtesy of Zimbio pictures, Katherine Jenkins and Dancing With The Stars Season 14 competitor, Jack Wagner, attended BritWeek 2012′s “Evening with Piers Morgan” last night in Beverly Hills, California. Katherine looks so pretty as always and isn’t it great to see Jack again? More with him in a bit.

Also, former Dancing With The Stars contestant Kelly Osbourne was also in attendance. I really do like her hair purple like that. I know. I am weird.

Below is a new picture of Maria Menounos as she hosted a new episode of “Extra” with her left foot in an air cast at the Grove in Los Angeles on Thursday. According to our Miss Heidi, Maria has been wearing the cast since Tuesday night after the show. Picture also courtesy of Zimbio Pictures.

DWTS 14, Week 7 – Who’s Got the Edge in the Team Dances?

So we now know for sure what the team dances are (paso doble & tango) and who’s on what team (Katherine, Maria, Jaleel, & Roshon vs. William, Donald, & Melissa).  So who’s gonna win? Let’s see how they stack up.  I looked at several factors that could come into play in helping to determine who has the advantage – experience level of the pros on each team, experience level of the couples on each team, number of couples on each team, what dance each team has, and other miscellaneous factors that may affect the outcome.  So let’s get to it!

Pro Team Dance Experience

Derek: 6 wins (seasons 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13), 0 losses, 0 ties; average team dance score: 27.5
Cheryl: 4 wins (seasons 7, 8, 10, 13), 1 loss (season 11), 0 ties; average team dance score: 26.8
Kym: 2 wins (seasons 7 & 9), 1 loss (season 13), 1 tie (season 12); average team dance score: 25.75*
Maks: 2 wins (seasons 11 & 13), 1 loss (season 10), 1 tie (season 12); average team dance score: 25*
Chelsie: 1 win (season 8), 0 losses, 1 tie (season 12); average team dance score: 25*
Mark: 0 wins, 2 losses (seasons 8 & 11), 1 tie (season 12); average team dance score: 23.67*
Peta: 0 wins, 0 losses, 0 ties (never been in a team dance); average team dance score: 0

*Since there were 4 judges’ scores given for the team dances in season 12, I subtracted Donnie Burns’ score from the two team dances in that season in order to normalize with all of the other seasons, which only had 3 judges’ scores.

Team Tango: I’d say their biggest advantage is having Derek – the guy’s undefeated, so he’s clearly figured out the formula for what works and what doesn’t work in the team dances.  Say what you will about team dances being a product of all the pros working together (I agree to some extent), but the only common denominator in every single team dance win has been Derek, regardless of what other pros have been on each team with him, what the dance style has been, etc.  Many of the pros have also gone on record as saying that they tend to let Derek take the lead when choreographing the group portions of the team dance, so I’d say he probably has a lot to do with the success of each of the teams he’s on, as the judges do tend to really harp on synchonization, interesting formation patterns, and overall performance quality in the group portion of team dances.  I’d say Kym is an asset as well – she’s been on a team with Derek twice before (one of those times was another team tango), and when she hasn’t been on a team with him, she’s managed to tie once, and the 1 team dance she lost was not really all that bad, IMO.  I don’t really know if Chelsie is battle-tested enough to say whether she’s good in the team dance or not – but I don’t get the impression that she is one to make waves, so she will probably be very cooperative and easy to get along with.  My only concern is Mark – he seemed rather volatile in the team dance rehearsals in season 12, and seems to have a penchant for very flashy, high-energy, in-your-face choreo…which doesn’ t always translate well in the team dances.  I’m hoping that he lets Derek take the lead on the group choreography, and really focuses on giving Katherine some good, solid solo choreography this week.

Team Paso: While I think they don’t have quite the same edge that Team Katherine does, I don’t think they’re super weak, either.  Both Cheryl & Maks have been on teams with Derek before, so they’ve probably at least picked up a few tricks and strategies – I would say Maks is probably the stronger choreographer, judging from what I’ve seen him do in other team dances and pro dances.  The big question mark here is Peta – we just don’t know how she’s going to fare, since this will be her first team dance.  I doubt she’s going to suck at it (I don’t think anyone has really sucked at it – except maybe the unfortunate souls in the team mambo in season 8…), but it may take her a little longer to really get a feel for how the team dances work and what to do for Donald’s solo.  I think she’s probably going to rely on Cheryl & Maks for the group choreo, and isn’t likely to make any sort of big fuss, since she’s the new kid on the block.

Who has the edge in pro experience? I’ve got to give this one to Team Tango - they’ve got the only undefeated pro, and each of the other pros has been in at least 2 team dances. Read more..

DWTS Karina Smirnoff And Kelly Osbourne Attend Nickelodeon’s 25th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards (Photo)

A fashion diva as always, isn’t Dancing With The Stars Pro Karina Smirnoff beautiful in this off white, lacey Victorian number? The heels couldn’t be more perfect too. What was the occasion for why Karina graced a Red Carpet? Last night, Karina attended Nickelodeon’s 25th Annual Kids’ Choice Awards held at Galen Center in Los Angeles, California. You can see more fun pictures of her at this event at Zimbio Pictures. Former Dancing With The Stars contestant Kelly Osbourne was a stunner as well (in my opinion). Do you like the color of her hair? At first I didn’t like it, but, now I think I do?

DWTS Who Wore it Better? Part XV – The Pre-Season 14 Edition!

Yep, we’re back to talk fashion for yet another season’s promo pix :-) And kids, this batch was a bit of a challenge for even me – at least 3 brand-spanking new dresses that weren’t dittoed, some wacky alterations, weird lighting, and the fact that we don’t have pix of Cheryl & Katherine yet made this edition a little less fun and a little more frustrating.  But alas, it’s here now, so enjoy! And a very special thanks to our reader Manny, who graciously helped us out with the screen cap of Niecy, since Hulu only has season 13 available to stream and the DWTS website has taken down all of the photos from old seasons…grrrrr. *shakes fist at sky*

Battle of the gold, silver, super-sparkly jive dress: Kym’s pre-season 14 photo shoot vs. Kym’s jive with David in season 13

Heidi: I know I’m going to disagree with Court on this one – by choosing the photo shoot version. :-) I like the more asymmetrical hem and I like her hair better in that pic. But damn, Kym always looks amazing and she does stick to the similar color pallette much of the time.

Court: Kym has always known what looks good on her (everything) and what doesn’t (not much), but I love how she seems to stick to a lot of nude colors and just lets all the embellishments do the talking.  I remember thinking “Wowwwww…that’s soooo sparrrrrkllllllyyyy!” as she walked down the stairs last season in this number.  But alas, the magic is a bit lost in the whitewash of the photo shoot – so I’m gonna go with jive Kym on this one :-)

The winner: We love Kym in the nude (colors) :-)

Battle of the black lace turtleneck tango dress: Bristol’s Argentine tango with Mark in season 11 vs. Martina’s pre-season 14 photo shoot

Court: I think this may actually be the very first ditto of a Bristol costume we’ve ever seen! Although if you’ve seen one Bristol ditto, I think you’ve pretty much seen them all, as this girl wore A LOT of black lace in season 11 – a fact that made my searching though her costumes all the more confusing :-P But anyway…I gotta say, I’m not really wild about this costume on either woman.  It just seems kinda…dowdy.  But I guess if I had to pick, I’d actually pick Bristol – because I can at least tell it’s a tango costume with the way she’s styled & made up.  Martina…just kinda looks like she’s gesturing for no apparent reason.  But she looks damn good for her age! :-)

Heidi: I can’t pick…too distracted by Marky’s face in that picture. :-) The hell?  Okay, all kidding :::cough::: aside, I have to agree with Courtney. Martina looks fabulous, but Bristol is fully made up for this dress and she wears it pretty well.  I will say, very proud of Martina for going with a dress that is probably more daring on the bottom half than I would have expected.

The winner: Bristol takes this one because we can actually tell what she’s doing. Read more..

DWTS14 Casting Rumors – The Typecasting of Season 14, Part II

So we’re less than 24 hours away from finding out who is and isn’t part of this season’s cast.  Who’s pumped??? I know I am…but we’ve still got a few hours left to speculate, so let’s see what other cast types we’ve to fill this season, shall we? ;-) For those of you that may have missed it, check out part I as well.

The Teen Idol

Previous examples: Joey McIntyre, Aaron Carter, Donny Osmond, Lance Bass, Mel B., Joey Fatone, Drew Lachey, Joey Lawrence, Ian Ziering, Cody Linley, Sabrina Bryan, Mario Lopez, Kyle Massey, Chelsea Kane, Romeo

Advantages: If sales of Tiger Beat are any indicator, the teenyboppers will come out in full force to support their favorite heartthrobs/idols.  Being young & good-lookin’ sure doesn’t hurt! Many also have the added advantage of having a decent dance background, especially if they were part of a musical act.

Disadvantages: Youth can also have its disadvantages – as in immaturity.  What some might call “youthful exuberance”, others might call “immaturity” or “attention deficit disorder” – poor Cody Linley had a hard time sitting still! Emotional immaturity (a la Aaron Carter’s post-rumba meltdown in the confessional) can be especially off-putting. They’ve also got to contend with the large middle-aged female contingent of viewers/voters – they far outnumber the young viewers likely to vote for them.

Possible candidates this season: There’s that random Nicole Anderson chick that’s a friend of Chelsea Kane’s, and Heidi found some compelling evidence that rapper Darnell Robinson may be participating this season.

The Host

Previous examples: Jerry Springer, Brooke Burke, Leeza Gibbons, Mario Lopez, Kenny Mayne, Lisa Rinna, Tucker Carlson, Mark Dacascos, Rocco DiSpirito, Erin Andrews, Wendy Williams, Mike Catherwood, Carson Kressley, Nancy Grace, Ricki Lake

Advantages: Being that they’ve been at the helm of their own shows, these guys usually have the media savvy & charisma to appeal to the masses, as well as the previous exposure & recognizability.  Most (not all!) are also decently attractive, which never seems to hurt (unless, of course, you’re a model – see previous post for explanation).

Disadvantages: Many hosts are only used to hosting – as in just sitting down & talking (or dodging the occasional punch, if you’re Springer), so the lack of movement experience problem seems to come into play.

Possible candidates this season: This category seems to have EXPLODED with possibilities this season – the most solid of which being Sherri Shepherd, who was caught leaving the DWTS studio the other day.  I’m still wondering if someone fr0m GMA is part of the cast this season, since they all seemed to act so coy when announcing they’d be revealing the cast. And then we have the Maria Menounos rumor as well.

The Actor

Previous examples: John O’Hurley, Melissa Joan Hart, Steve Guttenburg, John Ratzenberger, Debi Mazar, Denise Richards, Ted McGinley, Shannon Elizabeth, Jennie Garth, Vivica Fox, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Shannen Doherty, Jennifer Grey, David Hasselhoff, Ralph Macchio, Kirstie Alley, David Arquette

Advantages: Being that their bread & butter is acting, most can usually nail the emotions of the dances. Bonus points if they’ve done any Broadway (like Winokur) because they have likely had dance experience.

Disadvantages: For lack of a better term, many of them seem to be “has-beens” – actors that haven’t been particularly active in the mainstream in the past several years – or were never that big to begin with (can anyone else think of anything John O’Hurley has been in BESIDES Seinfeld?), making it harder for them to garner votes from a public who may not remember them.

Possible candidates this season: We’ve got Melissa Gilbert & Ryan O’Neal, of course, but nothing really beyond that.

The Reality Star

Previous examples: Kim Kardashian, Kelly Osbourne, Melissa Rycroft, Steve-O, Holly Madison, Trista Sutter, Shanna Moakler, Kate Gosselin, Jake Pavelka, Audrina Patridge, The Situation, Rob Kardashian, Kristin Cavallari

Advantages: Many have achieved pop culture icon status on their respective reality outlets, making them fairly recognizable.

Disadvantages: They may be memorable for the wrong reasons – people tended to remember things like Kim Kardashian’s sex tape more than her reality show when she was on DWTS, and people seemed more focused on Holly Madison’s split from Hef than her antics on The Girls Next Door.  Many can also come across as attention-hungry & talentless(*cough*JakePavelka*cough*) – reality TV is often looked down upon as a way to get famous without having any talent whatsoever.

Possible candidates this season: Lots of talk about Ali Fedotowsky, who suspiciously moved to LA last week.

The Singer:

Previous examples: Mya, Billy Ray Cyrus, Mario, Belinda Carlisle, Master P, Chuck Wicks, Sara Evans, Willa Ford, Monique Coleman, Toni Braxton, Macy Gray, Nicole Scherzinger, Chynna Phillips

Advantages: As with the teen idols, many have had dance experience concurrent with their music careers.

Disadvantages: Most seem to be committed solely to one genre of music (often R&B or country), making it hard to appeal to a wide fanbase.

Possible candidates this season: Lots of loose lips at the Grammys about Gavin DeGraw, but it seems like less of a possibility now, considering that he is about to go on tour.

The Wild Card

Previous examples: Heather Mills, Tom DeLay, Mark Cuban, Steve Wozniak, Priscilla Presley, Buzz Aldrin, Bristol Palin, Chaz Bono

Advantages: The sheer novelty of having someone with such an off-the-beaten-path claim to fame (famous divorcee/widow, entrepreneur, disgraced politician, etc.) may be enough to have the public voting them – just to see what happens.  Being the “underdog” is a powerful thing…as we saw with Bristol in season 11!

Disadvantages: Due to their often dubious fame, people just may not have any clue who they are – I personally had to Google Mark Cuban’s name. There’s also the risk of backlash from some viewers who don’t think they’re “stars” per se, and shouldn’t even be on the show in the first place.

Possible candidates this season: Surprisingly, not too many outlandish rumors…especially since Herman Cain & Michelle Bachman have denied they’re doing the show. Phew!

So we’re getting down to the wire, kids…any last-minute predictions before the big reveal? ;-)
