This week Louis Van Amstel was a guest on “The Doctors”. He gives dancing advise for those who think they can’t dance. He also promotes his LaBlast DVDs. There are 5 of them from a beginning level to a professional level. Sounds fun. See if you can’t do the Cha Cha. He makes it look so easy.
Louis was a guest on KTLA this morning. Like on The Talk, he talked of LaBlast and praised Kelly Osbourne. He also promotes his LaBlast convention in Los Angeles this upcoming weekend. He also talks a little on Dancing With The Stars. He mentions the pros will find out if they dance on the show on August 22nd. Then they find out who they are partnered with on August 29th like the rest of us. More below…
This last weekend, Louis Van Amstel travelled back to Salt Lake City, Utah to teach more La Blast classes as well as working on the new “Ballroom Battle” segment for Dancing With The Stars. On “Ballroom Battle”, Louis had to choose two young dancers (one girl and one boy) from eight. He had a difficult time choosing since he’s seen them grow up. There were a lot tears shed at the end of the try outs. Be sure to read in more detail at his Facebook account.
Also, while in Utah, Louis helped to host a morning show on ABC 4. He told the other hosts and viewers that he hopes to be on the new Season. He said he and the pros chosen (12 in all) for the show will find out in two weeks. They also talked on the current cast rumors (Snooki, Rob Kardashian, etc). Louis also mentions there will be a brand new set for Dancing With The Stars 13. He hasn’t seen it yet, but, he liked the last one because it was intimate. He said the producers wanted a “change”. You can watch the interview >>>>HERE.
Wow, so many changes for this upcoming Season. So, how do you feel about a new set? I think it sounds fun. We’ll see? I’m also so curious about “Ballroom Battle”. I keep wondering how they will fit it into the show since the show is jammed packed as it is?
Louis Van Amstel and Karina Smirnoff Talk About The Importance Of Dancing And Dancing With The Stars (Videos)
The Dance Studio’s and Classes of our pros seem to be more popular than ever this summer. They continue to make news headlines. Such is true for Louis Van Amstel and Karina Smirnoff and their studios. This past week ABC7 in Los Angeles interviewed the two about them. They are helping a lot of people out there.
Below is Karina being interviewed by Hollywood 411 at her dance studio. She talks of her Dancing With The Stars wish list again in this one.
July 24th Louis Van Amstel is taking his LaBlast dancing/fitness program to Chicago. The Chicago Sun has a new interview promoting him and the event. Louis talks about how important it is to stay and shape and how dancing can help. Here is what he said about Kelly Osbourne and how he was inspired to create the program.
“The reason I wanted to do something like LaBlast was because obesity is the number one disease worldwide,” Van Amstel said. “When I was partnered with Kelly (Osbourne, in season 9), I started thinking to myself, I’m on the number one show in the country, it’s all about dancing, people are loving the dances, they are seeing how fit we are and how the contestants are transforming, so why not create a dance program people could do without a partner and just feel good about themselves?”
LaBlast is a five-tier workout program (currently not offered in the Chicago area) that incorporates dance steps from the cha-cha, samba, Lindy Hop, jive, paso doble, Quickstep, salsa and more. The routines are designed to create a total cardio/interval training workout.
“When I first met Kelly,” Van Amstel said, “her self-esteem was nowhere. She was this pigeontoed girl, who as overweight, walked hunched over, and I was like ‘What am I gonna do with her?’ But five minutes into our first steps I knew she had enormous talent and rhythm and we just took it from there. As the season went on, people really connected to her transformation, and that’s what LaBlast ultimately does. It builds up your confidence and transforms you on every level.”
They also ask him if he’ll be dancing on the next season of Dancing With the Stars….
As for the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars,” Van Amstel said he won’t know until August if he will be returning. “They don’t ask us until right before rehearsals,” he said. “So we’ll see.”
Yes, we will see. Just come out with it already. I’m having Dancing withdrawals at their worst now. lol
