The dancers from Dancing With The Stars aren’t the only stars of the show to be working and vacationing in Las Vegas currently. Dancing With The Stars co-host Brooke Burke was also in Sin City with her family over the weekend. She took part in the Donald Driver Charity events. She was also seen with her family at “O” by Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino Saturday night (pictured above). You can read all about it at Vegas News. Sweet!
So many of you brought it to our attention that Donny was asked about doing the all-star season the other day on The Talk, and I was finally able to locate a clip. While he seemed to tend more towards the “no” side (“It’s a lot of work!” and “I have one mirror ball trophy I rub in Marie’s face. Why two???), he did say he’d “love to get that trophy again!”. Video below for those who want to see for themselves…it’s around the 10:00 mark. Notice how Donny looks a bit guilty & fidgety when first asked about it:
So while Donny seems to give the impression of “sounds fun, but I’m super busy”, I wouldn’t necessarily write him off as a no-go for the all-star season. I wouldn’t write Marie off just yet, either. Why, you ask?
Our reader Christy pointed out to us last week that Donny & Marie both appear to have cleared their schedules for the fall, as the last event either of them have listed on their respective websites is a gig in Atlantic City on August 5. After that, they have nothing scheduled until their UK tour in January of next year. Are they allocating time to participate in the all-star season, perhaps?
What about their long-running Vegas show? Well, officially, their show at the Flamingo is contracted through October of this year, so there could be a bit of overlap if they do decide to do the all-star season…but the show is dark on Monday evenings, and having a Vegas show sure didn’t seem to stop Donny during his season on DWTS, as Sharon aptly pointed out on The Talk. And as of right now, you’re only able to purchase tickets for their Vegas show through July 28 on the Flamingo website. Could they be ending their run in Vegas early, and heading for Hollywood to go head-to-head in the all-star season?
I decided to get a bit sneaky and see what I could find out by calling the Flamingo box office. I pretended to be a daughter whose parents were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary and were planning a trip to Vegas, and I wanted to gift them with tickets to the finale of Donny & Marie’s Vegas show in October. The sales rep on the other end of the line, while very friendly, got a bit dodgy with me at that point, and delivered the obligatory “I’m sorry, ma’am, at this time we have only opened ticket sales for shows leading up to July 28. But if you call back in a month or so, we might have tickets available for shows at a later date.” Bah…cop-out. It could mean nothing – maybe they’re still planning out the last few months of the show’s run. But I thought it was interesting nonetheless, and gave me some food for thought.
So what do you guys think about Donny and/or Marie possibly coming back for the all-star season? Let’s get your thoughts…

Through my own searches and with the assistance of Elara, I’ve compiled about a bazillion photos of Derek from across the web. And here we go.
CozyCot has bunches and bunches of LARGE pictures – be sure to visit their site to see them all.
One of my favorite websites around, INeedMyFix, also has a bunch of photos, along with a short write up that I can totally relate to – like all links I post here, it’s only polite to click.
Daylife has several pics from inside the party:
Doesn’t Karina look pretty? I love her hair long and dark with the way she’s been wearing it lately. Last night, she held a Pre-Billboard Music Awards Party at Tabú in Las Vegas. Carson Kressley showed up for the festivities in fine form too. You can read all about Karina, the party, the guests, and see more pictures at Haute Living.
As many of you know, I was in Las Vegas last weekend and had the pleasure of seeing the DWTS live show at the Tropicana – which, of course, I will review for you guys, since certain other individuals *cough*JOHN*cough* haven’t managed to write the 2nd half of their review of the premiere of said show This post could get a bit wordy, as I took quite a few notes (and just have a really good memory, to boot) and I’ll throw in a few other possibly-unrelated-to-DWTS details for context, as well as some general Vegas info, since some of you have asked about my trip - so if you’re only interested in my review of the show, feel free to skip the next few paragraphs. And if you hate spoilers (i.e. you want to be COMPLETELY surprised when you see the show), I’d either just skip this post altogether or just read my overall take at the bottom - because I’m not holding back. You’ve been warned And special thanks go to Heidi, for helpin’ a girl out with some picture merges that were driving me cray-cray
So why was I in Vegas in the first place, you ask? My best friend Kendra is getting married at the end of July, and she wanted a bachelorette party for the ages – so naturally, we HAD to go Vegas There were 12 of us altogether (11 rowdy bachelorettes and 1 gay bachelor, who I must say put us all to shame with how fabulously he was dressed the entire trip ;-)), and the majority of us stayed at the Flamingo, since we were able to get a great rate on standard rooms – with 4 girls to a room, it was only $82 total for each of us for 3 nights, which is pretty awesome for a well-known hotel on the strip that isn’t a total dive. Overall, I wouldn’t say the Flamingo is a particularly special or ritzy hotel (if that’s what you’re looking for, I’d go with the Bellagio, Palazzo, or Venetian…but be prepared to shell out big $$$), but if you’re on a budget, it’s certainly more than sufficient – the rooms are clean and the decor is kitchy & cute (think 1960′s, Rat Pack, original Ocean’s Eleven – lots of dots, stripes, retro furniture, and of course, pink :-)). I’m very into the nostalgia of Vegas, so the Flamingo appealed to me in that it was originally built by infamous mobster Bugsy Siegel, and legend has it that the actual motive behind his murder was to change the management of the Flamingo. But anyway – if you’re in Vegas, I definitely recommend trying their Paradise Garden Buffet – it’s pretty affordable, as far as buffets in Vegas go, and is quite good…especially the brunch buffet. Plus the views of their courtyard and flock of live flamingoes are gorgeous Also at the Flamingo? Donny & Marie Osmond’s live show – I didn’t see it (no time, and honestly, not much of a desire), but I did see these in the lobby:
The one on the left is Donny’s costume from his freestyle with Kym in season 9, as well as his MBT (and yes, according to the guest services director that I asked, it is his real MBT – apparently he insisted it be put in the case with his costume); the one on the right is Marie’s dress from her quickstep with Jonathan in season 5 (and one of those freaky dolls she designs – guess they had to put SOMETHING there when they found out that Donny wanted to display his MBT, although I’m not sure why they didn’t display this doll instead). I found Marie’s costume pretty unremarkable up close – for as fabulous as it looked on the show, upon further scrutiny, it’s really just a tan silk gown with some gems glued on; but Donny’s suit is very well-made and clearly took a lot of work. Interesting how different the costumes look on tv vs. in person (more on that later). Read more..

A couple of months ago, we reported how there were plans are to bring a live version of Dancing With the Stars to the Tropicana in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to Robin Leach of Las Vegas Weekly, the idea was cancelled and now it’s getting the “green light” again.
The new Las Vegas dance show will supposedly feature a combination of dance professionals and Hollywood stars who have won and also who have come up short in their attempts to win the mirror-ball trophy.
One of the rumored contenders to dance is Dancing With The Stars Season 9 champ Donny Osmond.
The audience members at the Tropicana will also be invited to participate in an “interactive challenge” during the shows.
You can read more details in our previous posting as well as in a new article at the Las Vegas Weekly which talks about a male pro from Dancing With The Stars helping to choreograph the show and stage in the past planning stages. Who do you think that might be? Louis?
Personal note: I really hope this comes true. I’m planning a trip to Vegas in the Fall and I would love to see this show if it were to happen!! How about you?
*one eye up* Pictured in a dance pose above is Dancing With The Stars’ Lacey Schwimmer with tabloid reporter Perez Hilton. Lacey attended his “Rock The Vote” Broken Heart Ball Saturday night in Las Vegas. You can read more on the party and see more pictures at Haute Living.
Note too that Perez has campaigned to be on Dancing With The Stars at his twitter in the past and recently in a new Dancing With The Stars “potential” cast column. Could this only be the beginning for these two? Ok, let’s pretend I didn’t say that.
Heidi’s Note: He wishes. I hope not, seeing as how he’s even less a celebrity than, say, Elisabetta Canalis. Next they’ll be casting Henry the Paparazzi.
Last night, Cheryl Burke hosted the TAO A Go Go contest at TAO Nightclub in Las Vegas, Nevada. Above is a picture arriving to the even taken by PacificCoastNews.com. Doesn’t she look stunning in this bronze number (such a popular fashion color currently)? I love her long hair too which I hope she never cuts short again. What do you think? You can view more beautiful photos of Cheryl at Zimbio. Image Collect has some as well.
ADDING: Speaking of Cheryl, don’t miss her on Good Morning America on Monday morning, Feb. 6th. According to ABC Media, she will talk about her book, “Dancing Lessons: How I found Passion and Potential on the Dance Floor”. I bet they will ask her on Dancing With The Stars. So, be sure to turn in!!
America’s Got Talent and Master illusionist, Michael Turco, and Dancing With The Stars Pro, Lacey Schwimmer have teamed up for a ‘mashup’ Las Vegas production called “Magic and Mayhem” that will debut Feb. 16 at Saxe Theater in Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops. Below are some more details from Vegas Deluxe if you’d like to take in the fun event while visiting.
The show is described as a fusion of illusions and audience interaction combined with the stylings of choreographer Lacey, who grew up in Las Vegas. “The time was right for me to make the leap to Las Vegas, and Saxe Theater is the perfect fit,” Michael said in a news release. “I am living my dream and couldn’t be happier to bring my show to the Entertainment Capital of the World.”
Theater owner David Saxe added, “This show is perfect for all ages. Its youthful energy and innovative style will definitely set it apart from the rest.” Lacey said she’s proud to add Las Vegas show choreographer to her resume. “I’m excited to be working with Michael Turco. I’m thrilled to be part of it!” “Magic and Mayhem” will run 4 p.m. daily.
