Did you watch Julianne Hough on Miss USA last night? If so, what did you think? I thought she was so cute and fun. She added a breath of fresh air to the whole night. I loved the show too. I was so happy when Deshauna Barber won the Miss USA Title. What a great night! Photos and video below.
The headline says it all, but here is Cheryl’s official statement. Go, girl!
In light of the recent statements made by Donald Trump and the subsequent decision by NBC to cut ties with Mr. Trump, I cannot in good conscience move forward with participating in this year’s Miss USA Pageant as its co-host. Effective today I have withdrawn from my duties with Miss USA. Although I will not be there in person, I wish all of the contestants much luck as I know how hard they’ve all been working over the last year to try and realize their dreams.
Burke’s departure comes on the same day that NBC would air an “American Ninja Warrior” special on the night it was originally scheduled to air Miss USA. The three-hour July 12 special will be the show’s second annual “USA vs. the World” extravaganza, in which top competitors from the hot Monday series “American Ninja Warrior” go head to head with competitors from Japan and Europe. Last year’s “USA vs. the World” special in mid-September delivered a potent 1.9 rating in adults 18-49 despite facing tough reality show competition, including the season premiere of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”
Cheryl Burke To Co-Host Miss USA, Would Like To See Caitlyn Jenner For A Miss USA Judge And DWTS Contestant
Former Dancing With The Stars pro Cheryl Burke is going to co-host the Miss USA pageant. In the video below from Entertainment Tonight, Cheryl mentions it and how she’d like to see Caitlyn Jenner be a Miss USA judge (I love the idea, do you?). She also thinks Caitlin would make a great contestant for Dancing With The Stars (as you know, I support this idea too). Let us know what you think in comments as always. Read more..
This past weekend, Extra caught up with Joe Jonas, Rob Kardashian, and Ali Fedotowsky on the Red Carpet at the 2012 Miss USA Competition. When asked, Joe and Ali said they may do Dancing With The Stars in the future. It would depend on “scheduling” for Joe. Ali said she’d need some “liquid encouragement”. Extra also asked Rob if he’d come back for the Dancing With The Stars All-Star season. He said it “sounds fun”, it’s “a lot of hard work”, and he has “no idea”. Kelly Osbourne was interviewed too, but, they didn’t ask her about Dancing With The Stars.
So, what do you think about Rob returning for the All-Stars Season if he was asked to do it? I liked him. I think he’d be fun to see dance again.
As for Ali and Joe, bring them on for Dancing With The Stars Season 16. They’d be fun.
Pictured above is Dancing With The Stars Pro Val Chmerkovskiy with Katie Eklund, the newly named Miss Nevada Teen USA. As you have read from our previous reportings, the 2012 Miss Nevada USA and Nevada Teen USA pageants were held at the Pearl in the Palms Resort on Sunday, Jan. 29th, 2012. Val judged Miss Nevada Teen USA while his brother Maks judged the Miss Nevada Pageant. You can read a great review of the whole event at the Las Vegas Sun. The link also includes a great photo of Maks with Jade Kelsall the newly crowned Miss Nevada USA.
Last night, Mark Ballas performed at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency Ballroom in New York City. Photographer Astrid Stawiarz of Getty Images was there to capture some shots from backstage which you can view more of at Zimbio. Olympic skater, Sasha Cohen, was at the event to watch as well which raised my eye brows a little for the way they were tweeting back and forth afterwards. Wouldn’t it be fun to see her dance on Dancing With The Stars? You can see a sweet picture of the two of them together here.
Mark also gave ABC7 an interview before performing at Feinstein’s where he talks about his music and dancing on Dancing With The Stars. If he had to choose between the two, he couldn’t. They remember his time with Bristol Palin on the show and how Mark is still friends with her to this day. At the end of the interview they ask him straight up who his partner will be for Season 14 (without asking him if he’s dancing). Mark smiles and answers that he doesn’t know who his partner will be and that they will find out who they dance with the day before the revealing on Feb. 28th. Does this mean Mark is officially dancing? You be the judge below. He also plugs Jennifer Aniston again.
If you’d like to watch Mark sing, he will be performing a free show at the Mohegan Sun on Friday, Feb. 10th. For details, visit their official site.
ADDING and back to Sasha, below is another tweet she made this morning after this post as posted. Hmmm….

Thanks Sheery! 😉
Gear up Maks, Tony, and Dancing With The Stars fans! As you have read in some earlier postings, Maks will be judging the Miss Nevada Beauty 2012 Pageant. The fun begins tonight (Sunday) at the Palms’ concert venue, The Pearl, in Las Vegas. Cool too is that Tony Dovolani has choreographed part of the show. Below are some details on the show from the Las Vegas Sun.
“The panel of judges really has their work cut out for them. I honestly believe we have some girls who could truly take the national pageant. It is going to be a very fun and exciting time, and all the girls have worked so hard to compete.”
There are 24 blondes, brunettes and redheads in contention for the Miss Nevada USA title and simultaneously 12 hopefuls in the Miss Nevada Outstanding Teen Pageant.
“I have to make my farewell walk and farewell speech just before I crown the new winner,” Sarah said. “It’s not sad because I’m looking forward to all the things to come. I won’t have time to even think about the reign change because I will be helping the girls backstage.
“We have had Tony Dovolani from ‘Dancing With the Stars’ teaching them best stage presence and how to strike a pose after going through the onstage walking patterns. We have an opening dance number — not too technical! — and he’s also been guiding them with that…
Be sure to read the full article at this link for more. Note too, as we’ve reported before, that Val is judging the Miss Nevada Teen Pageant. Hopefully, we’ll get lots of new pictures.
On another note: we’ve also added a video link to Maks Birthday Bash post which includes some of the dancing and coverage from Friday night!! So, be sure to visit that post again here if you haven’t yet for more fun from that night.
In an earlier posting, we reported how Dancing With The Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Tony Dovolani will be helping with the Miss Nevada USA Beauty pageant that’s taking place on January 28th and 29th at the Palms’ concert venue, The Pearl, in Las Vegas. Tony will be choreography while Maks will be one of the pageant’s judges. For the last week, Tony has been in Las Vegas prepping for the event as you can see above. You can view more pictures of Tony and watch the preliminary events for this pageant go down at the Miss Nevada USA Facebook page. Note also that Val Chmerkovskiy has been asked to judge Miss Nevada Teen USA as well.
Thanks to @AfanDwts at twitter for the heads up!!
Last month we reported Mark Ballas will be helping to judge Miss America on January 14th in Las Vegas. But, Mark isn’t the only dancer from Dancing With The Stars to be helping with a beauty pageant. Tony Dovolani and Maks will be helping with the Miss Nevada USA Beauty pageant on Jan 28th and 29th at the Palms’ concert venue, The Pearl, in Las Vegas. Tony will be choreography while Maks will be one of the State’s judges.
Tony Dovolani of “Dancing With the Stars” will be directing the choreography.
The state judges will include “Dancing With the Stars” pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Amp salon operator Michael Boychuck, Josh Strickland of “Peepshow” and Vince Neil of Motley Crue.
