DWTS Jack Osbourne Writes Touching Piece On “Dancing With Multiple Sclerosis”

At his facebook page today, Jack Osbourne wrote about what dancing has been like while having Multiple Sclerosis. He hasn’t had any severe symptoms, other than “the odd bit of tingling down his leg and an occasional bout of fatigue”. At the same time, he’s “holding his breath” because you never know what tomorrow will bring. More below and at the link. A must read and full of heart!! I am so glad Jack danced this season. Between he and Valerie Harper, I think we’ve all learned an important life lesson we weren’t expecting.

The truth of the matter is, today I’m good. I’m feeling strong and confident in my ability to continue on. It’s funny, no matter how much information there is out there about MS, it still carries a negative stigma. Nowadays if you find a treatment that works for you, you exercise regularly, eat right, and take care of yourself, you really can have a chance at a relatively symptom free life. (I use the term relatively loosely)

I’m not saying everyone with MS can do DWTS, but it doesn’t mean you can’t set an achievable goal and strive to achieve it everyday. No matter who you are or what you struggle with, that is something we are all capable of. And right now my goal is to win that mirrorball trophy.

The interesting thing about DWTS is that it is a competition of progress, it slowly ramps up it’s intensity as every week goes by, so although you hit the ground running, you don’t hit the ground sprinting (that’s this week).

I’m ready to sprint. I owe a lot of that to my partner Cheryl Burke. Cheryl believes in me in a way that has made me believe in myself. In my moments of doubt, I know that Cheryl always has my back.

I can’t quite put into words how moved I am by all the people who have reached out to me online. It truly means a lot. ***Just know this, if that day does come where I do win this mirrorball, know that I didn’t just win it for me, but I won it for all of us with MS.***

DWTS Season 17 Cheryl Burke And Jack Osbourne Do The Talk And Access Hollywood (Videos)

Today Cheryl Burke and Jack Osbourne sat down with Billy and Kit on Access Hollywood. Jack talks about Multiple Sclerosis and what it was like finding out about it. It wasn’t easy at the time being he and his wife just had a baby. Then Jack and Cheryl discuss Dancing With The Stars and their relationship. Cheryl says Jack is like her little brother…they have fun, fight, and are sarcastic with one another. This week they have the Jive. Along with the dance with Jack, the Team dance, and a pro dance, Cheryl says she’s been putting in 15 hour rehearsal days. They are working nonstop. Lot’s more below. Also, don’t miss watching them on The Talk at this link. They should be posting the new episode from today soon.

One of my favorite couples this season. I love them. I hope they won’t get eliminated next or I will be sad.

DWTS17 Cheryl Burke Writes Of She And Jack Osbourne’s Vulnerability And More

Cheryl Burke writes about she and Jack Osbourne’s rehearsals and dance the past week at Life And Style Magazine. It wasn’t easy to get him to tap into his emotional side. They both had to be more vulnerable. Here is more….

The biggest challenge of this week was getting Jack to get in touch with his emotions — without him laughing. It was hard to get him to tap into that sensitive side of himself, but I knew that he would eventually overcome it. The moment Jack became teary-eyed was when he dedicated our dance to his wife, Lisa, and his baby girl, Pearl. While we were waiting to hit the stage, I told him, “Don’t listen to the package! Don’t listen to it!” But he couldn’t help it — and I can’t blame him. My eyes almost watered up, too!

I’ll admit that this week might have been the hardest yet because the both of us had to be more vulnerable. Jack likes to be very sarcastic and we’re both the same in that regard, so for us to get emotional is very rare — and difficult at times.

Dancing With the Stars Backstage Buzz With Cheryl Burke: Jack Osbourne is the Most Amazing Dad

All of that aside, it’s so refreshing to be partnered with someone who’s normal. He’s a celebrity, but he doesn’t act like one. He has a really good sense of humor. So far, it’s been a really great season for me.

I like that Jack doesn’t act like a celebrity too. He is also bringing out the best in Cheryl this season. I love that. It’s one of the reasons why I love this show.

Also, below is some coverage on Jack in an Access Hollywood segment about the emotional journey he took this week.

DWTS2013 Jack Osbourne: “At the end of the day, I’m my own test”

Hollyscoop previewed a new interview with Jack Osbourne and Life And Style magazine. When asked what his doctors thought of Jack doing Dancing With The Stars, Jack comments with, “Doctors always have concerns. At the end of the day, I’m my own test. They can’t tell me how I’m going to feel and there’s no rhyme or reason to the way MS kind of unfolds itself. They just tell me to roll with it.” You can read more on this interview at Life And Style Magazine.
