DWTS2012 Emmitt Smith Helps To Open Your Center In Texas, He Boogies On The Chew

I always look forward to seeing what charities and messages some of the celebrities bring to the show every season. Emmitt Smith is no different. Check out how the former Dallas Cowboy helped to kick off a new Salvation Army Youth Center in Arlington, Texas this week.

Also, if you weren’t able to watch Emmitt and Cheryl on The Chew yesterday, you can do so at their official site here. In one part, Emmitt gets his boogie on with one of the hosts.

Dancing With The Stars Karina Smirnoff Attends Open Road Films’ ‘End of Watch’ Premiere

Looking dashing as always, Karina Smirnoff graced the Red Carpet at the premiere of Open Road Films’ ‘End of Watch’ at the Regal Cinemas L.A. in Los Angeles, California this week. What do you think of this dress? I love it. I think this color suits her perfectly too. You can see lots more takes at Zimbio Pictures. Other stars to attend the premiere were Jake Gyllenhaal, Anna Kendrick, America Ferrera (I’d love to see her do Dancing With The Stars), Joe Manganiello, Jennie Garth, and Audrina Patridge.

Celebuzz caught up with Karina at the Premiere and asked her on her lovelife….

ADDING: Also, you can view Karina and Apolo in rehearsals at People.com. He hopes to break his bad habits from his dancing in the past and more. Karina says she has the best partner ever. Thanks to Sheery for the heads up.

Is The Judging For The DWTS All Star Season Going To Be Different? (Video)

Today People.com posted a video of Dancing With The Stars Hosts Brooke Burke and Tom Bergeron dishing on ” the insane level of competition on Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars” this season. Even more interesting is that they also talk about how the judges might have to “tweek their standard of judging” since they can’t start giving 9’s or 10’s the first week, etc. You can watch the new video at People here. Thanks to Lori for the heads up!

Wow, I’m not sure what to think? Does this mean they might get really picky straight off. If so, that’s fine with me as long as they are FAIR!! Let us know what you think. I’m so glad I started stocking up on Pinot Noir in July and I don’t drink? 😯

Disney ABC Releases Official DWTS All Star Rehearsal Photos Of Mark Ballas And Bristol Palin

What a great take of Mark Ballas dipping Bristol Palin. ABC has released some really cool rehearsal takes of the two in the studio. It looks like Mark plugs away on his guitar too in his spare time. You can see lots more fun takes of them at ABCMedia and Getty Images.

Kirstie Alley Interviewed About Weight Loss, Jessica Simpson, and Dancing With The Stars (Video)

Extra caught up with Kirstie Alley backstage after her appearance on the Dr. Oz show. They joke around about how this is her wildest interview. She does some rap and they show her dancing on Dr. Oz. They mention Jessica Simpson and the hate out there for her since she gained weight having a baby. Around the 1:20 mark, she talks of how terrified she is if dancing again on Dancing With The Stars. She’s a hoot as always…and she makes some great points about Jessica too! Go Kirstie and she’s looking fantastic. I love her hair! I hope she never cuts it! I’d love it though if she’d lighten it up a little more for the show next week or add some highlights to it. What do you think?

If you’d like to read more about Kirstie’s appearance on Dr. Oz, see this previous posting.

Karina Smirnoff And Apolo Ohno Working On Hip Action And More in DWTS Rehearsals

Thanks to @Jimmbboe (and a heads up from Alicia), below is a rehearsal interview with Karina Smirnoff and Apolo Ohno from E News. As said in a previous post, we would have posted this last week, but, E News took it down (either that, or they moved it and I couldn’t find it?). Anyway, here ya go. Karina points out that Apolo needs some work on his hip action, but, they are full of chemistry, hard work, and fun. Check them out!

Gilles Marini Interviewed About The Pressures Of Dancing Again, Peta Murgatroyd, And More

Gilles Marini tells The Examiner that he’s worried about “connecting” with the audience with his first two dances on Dancing With The Stars. He also speaks about Peta, the competition, and what he’s looking forward to the most.

E:It’s only a week before the show! How will this season be more special or different for you than last time?

GM: This season is a celebration. Yes, people will compete but I am not paying so much attention to that. I wanna shine and show all my fans out there that it was worth it to tune in and watch our dances.

E:Which dance are you looking forward to the most?

GM: For sure not the first 2. We have the Foxtrot and the Jive. I am really worried about connecting with my audience with those 2. [They are] very, very hard and clearly not the most sexy dances. But hey, let’s see if I survive that. Then my favorite dances are coming: Tango, Paso, Salsa and more – [they’re] awesome!

E:What is the best thing about Peta as a partner?

GM: In a couple words: She is kind, calm, honest, classy, talented, respectful, professional, driven and loving!

E:I know you’re a fierce competitor, but you also like to have fun. Who do you think is your biggest competition?

GM: Every one of them. But I don’t even think of it. I am an actor that is trying to make people happy by performing. That is all I am concentrating on. I want to work very hard and make everyone remember every single one of our dances. I am my worst critic and that is enough pressure—just from myself.

I love what he says about Peta. You can read the full interview at
The Examiner.
