Pure DWTS Season 12 – Randall Christensen Excited To Dress The Stars

“The thing is, big-name actors and actresses aren’t necessarily the most fun to dress. They’re the most visible, but they’re used to working in glamorous clothing and getting all dressed up. It’s the athletes, the older women, the people who I have to get in the dressing room and strip down and earn their trust that really make me think creatively. They may be celebrities, but when we’re in that dressing room, they’re all just scared little girls that want to look their best.” Celebrities, just like us! ~ Randall Christensen in new March Glamour Magazine Interview

Dancing With The Stars costume designer, Randall Christensen, gave Hollywoodlife.com a sneak peak for what we might see for Kendra’s costumes this Season as well. He also shared some of his favorite Dancing With The Stars looks from the past, and how they create them in only four days! Here’s a take. Be sure to read more at the link (as well as the Glamour link above) as he mentions his excitement about dressing Kirstie, Petra and Wendy as well and more.

“She [Kendra] is going to be a lot of fun, she’s kind of a tomboy, but a sexy tomboy,” Randall said at an intimate luncheon celebrating the launch of the Wilhelminia 40+ model search presented by Miraclesuit. “We’re gonna be peeling way layers, we aren’t going to give it all away. That’s the psychology we’re working with.”

So what could we expect to see her wearing on the big night? “We tried on two different dresses. One was quite revealing, but it didn’t work with the blue screen,” he said when we asked what we could expect to see on the reality star.

Randall said it’s always a rush getting the costumes together, since they only have four days to complete the process. “We design them on Tuesday, shop on Wednesday, cut them on Thursday, fit them on Friday and bead them on Saturday,” he said. “There have been times when I’m on the stairway with pins and a flashlight in my mouth sewing them into their skirt before pushing them down the stairway and finishing alterations on the commercial break. I’ve told celebrities, ‘Don’t sit back on the sofa because the glue will stick!’”

Wouldn’t it be fun to be his assistant? Special thanks to @Hollywoodlife for sending this article to us at twitter!!xx
