DWTS Season 13 Results (SPOILERS) and Scorecard!

Well, I told you guys I get it wrong as often as I get it right!! ๐Ÿ™‚ That’s right, dance fans, Ron Metta World Peace Artest has left the building. The Berg doesn’t have to try to say Metta and Petta any more. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hey, I did say it would be between him and Elisabetta.

Courtney called it with Ron going home, but then she was letting me sway her over to my way of thinking in the comments. ๐Ÿ™‚

Keep in mind, everyone, that just because Nancy and the Leprecaun were standing up there at the end, it doesn’t mean that they were in the bottom two. I shouldn’t have to say this any more, but inevitably someone will worry about Nancy. Maybe she was in the bottom two, maybe she wasn’t.

Oh, and *Crossover Alert* – look who showed up to support their “good friend” Derek! NappyTabs! Don’t let Nigel see you, guys. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I made a few quick screen caps – you have to click twice to see the full size.

Dancing With The Stars Season 13 Interview Round-Up After The First Dance Part 2 (Videos)

Do you like to listen to all the interview coverage after the shows as much as we do? ๐Ÿ™‚ In Part 2 of our Interview Round-Up today, we’ve got Donny Osmond giving us his take from Good Morning America (can’t they find someone else? Sorry). He didn’t like Ron Artest and thinks he should be the one to go tonight. He thinks J.R., Ricki, and Chynna are the contestants to “watch”.

We’ve also got interviews from Access Hollywood. Here is Maks and Val talking about their parents calling after the show. Val feels so blessed to be spending every day with Maks and enjoy this experience with him. It’s so cute watching them interact together!!

DWTS Season 13, Week 1 – Dancing by the Numbers

Ah, it’s that time of year again. The time when everyone makes preseason predictions and picks favorites…and it all goes to hell in one dance. ๐Ÿ™‚ ย Well, my preseason guess of JR Martinez as the one to beat holds true. Very happy with Ricki and Chynna, although I am afraid that Chynna won’t kill the latin and may fade into the wood work. ย How much do I love Carson? Let me count the ways. ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, I’m very afraid that no one is going to like my numbers – *I* don’t even like my numbers. ๐Ÿ™‚ But they are what they are. ย By the way, Maks fans, Tony fans and Karina fans missed out if they didn’t check out Ricki’s live Ustream tonight as all of those pros made appearances. ๐Ÿ™‚ You might want to check it in upcoming weeks.

Okay, so what do the numbers say??

The Judges Scores and Percentages

Place Celebrity Score Percentage
1. JR 22 10.14
1. Chynna 22 10.14
3. Hope 21 9.68
4. Ricki 20 9.22
5. Kristin 19 8.76
6. David 18 8.29
7. Carson 17 7.83
7. Chaz 17 7.83
9. Nancy 16 7.37
9. Rob 16 7.37
11. Elisabetta 15 6.91
12. Ron 14 6.45

Well, first off, I think that Chynna, JR, Hope and Ricki are safe to dance next week. BUT, Chynna and Hope need to make a better impact next week โ€“ Hope needs to let Maks lead, and Chynna needs to have another great dance and get more personality. Like Courtney, Iโ€™m getting a real Audrina vibe from her and dancing can only save you for so long. ย JR did a beautiful job, as did Ricki, and I donโ€™t think anyone will forget them. At least, I hope not.

The middle of the pack?? Well, itโ€™s freakinโ€™ insane. Thereโ€™s a whole bunch of meh with a hearty dose of WTF??ย  Of the middle of the pack, Chaz and Carson are the standouts โ€“ lovely surprises both of them. And I must say that her partnership with Chaz is making me into a Lacey fan.ย  And how much did I love that show of support by the male pros after Chaz danced and theyโ€™re getting ready to head back to the floor?? Very, very much.ย  Derek and Maks stood out to me as two of many who gave supportive back slaps. Read more..

Dancing With The Stars Season 13 Interview Round-Up After The First Dance Part 1 (Videos)

Ok, let’s start off with my favorite interviewer George Pennacchio. He gets deeper with his questions and they are always “original” and what’s more, he just cares. From On The Red Carpet

Below is George telling Kim and David that David has a child-like innocence about him and it came out on the dance floor. George thinks David tried so hard. Kym thinks David can go all the way because he has the right tools. David gets bashful and hope’s he’ll be back next week.

Maks and Hope are pleased because they reached their goal of getting “7”‘s. They are surprised, excited, and happy they are in 2nd place. Maks said he feels he has won already with his Mom calling all in tears because her boys are together dancing on the same show. Read more..

DWTS13 Week 1 Power Rankings

So ends the first night of competition in season 13 ๐Ÿ™‚ I must say, tonight was…interesting, as far as premieres go. On the downside, the bad performances seemed to outweigh the good ones; on the upside, even some of the bad ones were still pretty entertaining! The judges are still under the influence, the new stage still looks like a tripping hazard, and Brooke…is still the same old ditzy Brooke, just with a fancy new hyphenated last name. But on with the rankings!

1.) JR & Karina โ€“ I know I had already pegged this guy as the one to win this season, but man โ€“ I still got a little slack-jawed (and misty-eyed) watching him tonightย ๐Ÿ™‚ Heโ€™s extraordinarily fluid in his movements โ€“ he was the only one I saw who really finished his lines tonight โ€“ and wasnโ€™t in a hurry to do so.ย  Everything felt like a piece of cake to him, while the level of difficulty impressive.ย  And Carrie Ann was right โ€“ JR was one of the few tonight that managed to connect both with the dance AND their partner/the audience.ย  I find that highly impressive at this stage of the competition, when so many celebs can only either dance or connect, and not do both.ย  He did seem to get a bit thrown off by some of the fancier turns, but considering how fluid the rest of the dance was, itโ€™s not a huge deal.ย  Personality-wise, I can honestly say Iโ€™m inspired by how positive and grateful JR is in his attitude towards life โ€“ in a society where we place so much emphasis on looks, itโ€™s incredibly refreshing to see someone who can be secure (and even crack jokes!) about a very traumatic and disfiguring injury.ย  Not only do I feel inspired, but Karina seems inspired as well โ€“ itโ€™s nice to see the smile she had with Ralph last season, back again even brighter this seasonย ๐Ÿ˜€ I think these two have a long, hard, gorgeous journey ahead of them on the showโ€ฆwhich I canโ€™t wait to see! Ultrasound sales specialist by day, semi-knowledgeable DWTS fan by night...with a smattering of hair & makeup enthusiast, occasional model, baker, and crazy cat lady peppered in to make things REALLY interesting ;-) I might pee my pants in happiness if Donnie Wahlberg ever does DWTS - or if they ever use "Sunglasses at Night" as a paso doble.

Good Morning America Goes “Behind The Scenes” Of DWTS Before Showtime & More Goodies!

Good Morning America went behind the scenes to see how the new cast is preparing for Dancing With The Stars tonight! You can see some “never seen before dancing action”. They get interviewed too. I don’t want to spoil it for you. Take a peak below to see what I mean.

And for fun, be sure to see ESPN today to read some fun advise from some of the former “athelete” contestants!! I love this one from Kristi Yamaguchi…

Kristi Yamaguchi, Olympic champion figure skater
Season 6: Champion

Kristi Yamaguchi and her partner Mark Ballas Most challenging style of dance: The samba was a tough one for me — lots of technique that is just too hard to pick up in four days.

The one thing I wish I’d known before the show started: I wasn’t prepared for the emotional and mental stress. As the weeks go on, there is so much to learn and remember — lots of mental stamina required.

Most challenging aspect of the show: Learning how to dance. And then it was being ready for live TV every Monday.

Most exciting part: Learning how to dance. I had an amazing teacher and partner in Mark Ballas.

Burning a lot of calories on the show means: For me, it was everything in moderation as always. As an athlete, I’m sure Hope knows how to gauge what she needs for energy and stamina. I did treat show days like game or competition days as far as diet is concerned.

Biggest piece of advice: The No. 1 thing is to have fun. Be open and go with the flow. If you take it too seriously and get too stressed out, you won’t enjoy all it has to offer. Pace yourself, too!

How to become the champion: Stay healthy! Eat well, sleep as much as possible. … Also, take the judges’ comments seriously. They are usually trying to be constructive and appreciate it when they see you trying to apply it. And again, have fun. If you’re having fun, the audience will have fun right along with you.

It’s a Dancing With The Stars holiday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Adding: And here’s this too from yesterday;

Below is more on tonight and tomorrow nights shows from ABC MediaNet:

By evening’s end, the first couple of the season will be sent home.

This week, Grammy ยฎ and Emmyยฎ Award winner Harry Connick, Jr. is set to perform “On a Clear Day You Can See Forever” from his upcoming Broadway musical by the same title. Tuesday night’s musical acts will be the first to perform on the spectacular newly redesigned set that incorporates touches of the original ballroom, but now with three tiers of amphitheatre style balconies and state of the art staircase that moves with the band on a rising platform.

Tom Bergeron Talks About The New Dancing With The Stars Cast, The New Set, Theme Weeks, The Controversy, & More

Tom Bergeron talks to TV Guide about the controversy surrounding Chaz. He says, “Just relax already. It’s a ballroom show, for God’s sake! I have no idea why Chaz being on is a problem. I sort of expected there to be a reaction, but nothing this big. Chill out.” (Right on Tom!) He also talks of the new set, the new caast, the new dancers, and how the theme weeks will continue. Below is a take, but be sure to read more at TV Guide for the funny stuff he says on Maks!!! LOL

Still, it’s not the massive hostile response to the transgendered activist’s participation that is the most shocking to the Bergeron, but rather the casting department’s ability to snag Bono in the first place. “I’m constantly impressed, and impressed with Deena Katz at this point, six years and 13 seasons in,” the quick-witted host says. “They still manage to come up with casting announcements that generate buzz and press and interest.”

This season’s crop is one of the most eclectic ever. Others hitting the hardwood include David Arquette, Ricki Lake, Elisabetta Canalis (aka George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend), Hope Solo, Nancy Grace and Ron Artest โ€” “or whatever the hell he’s calling himself this week.” Ryan O’Neal was supposed to be on too before dropping out with a knee issue, but Bergeron hopes he’ll come back next season.

“I was really pleased to hear about Hope because it was such a timely booking after this summer [with the World Cup],” Bergeron says. “David Arquette, I was surprised to hear about. Ricki, I knew, because I had taped her pilot for her talk show and she told me then. Nancy Grace surprised me. I had never met her and the first thing she said to me at the announcement during rehearsals was, ‘I want to get this out of the way: I’m a big fan of America’s Funniest Videos!’ I’m not sure if she was buttering up to the host!”

The cast also features three new pros, Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s brother, Val, and last season’s troupe members, Peta Murgatroyd and Tristan MacManus. But the biggest fresh face may not be human at all โ€” there will be a brand new set. “It’s like a logical expansion of our original set,” Bergeron says. “It’s bigger, better, but still recognizably Dancing with the Stars.”

Bergeron admits he liked the old set the way it was, but thinks the change-up โ€” coupled with the cast โ€” will reinvigorate the show and is ultimately necessary during a very stacked fall. “It’s nice to freshen the paint, particularly when you’re coming into a strong, competitive season with The X Factor and The Sing-Off [which airs opposite Dancing],” he says. “There are a lot of reality shows all around us, so it’s a good time to brighten our look. I’m not going to sneeze at improvement.”

With the focus, not to mention money, going into revamping the set, Bergeron doesn’t foresee the show changing the set drastically to reflect the weekly themes like they did last season. But you can expect theme weeks to remain โ€” and perhaps see some new ones too.

“They’ve always worked well for us,” he says. “The producers have always expanded the range of the show while keeping the essence intact. Like the classical week last season โ€” I was so worried about that! Oh my God! I was calling it Find the Remote Week! But I was so wrong about it and I was happy to be. Everything was top-notch. The production values were as much stars as anyone else in the cast. I hope that’ll be back this season. We always do a few new ones each year, so I’m sure there will be those as well.”

DWTS Season 13, Week 1 – Who’s Dancing What…and When??

Yay!!! We are once again back in season on DWTS…let the games begin. Be on the lookout for all of our regular features from all of the usual suspects, including Courtney’s Power Rankings, my Dancing by the Numbers, Marianya’s stats….and The Cheesecake Awards. My personal favorite. ๐Ÿ™‚

And away we go – I will add the dance order as they’re tweeted. Keep in mind that usually on the first night the dance order matches the last two digits of the phone number, SO I have assumed that is the case for right now.
