Last night, Dance With Me Studios in Ridgefield, New Jersey held their holiday party! Dancing With the Stars cast members Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Val Chmerkovskiy, Teddy Volynets, Nicole Volynets, Daria Chesnokova, and Kiki Nyemcheck all showed up to dance, party, socialize, and take part in the festivities. You can view some fun pictures of them all and their guests at Bergen.com.
As we reported to you earlier, Ricki Lake has made a new Documentary to help make birthing more safe for women everywhere. It’s called “The Business of Being Born Two.” This past week it premiered in Los Angeles and some of the cast of Dancing With The Stars were there to help support it and Ricki including Derek, Val, and Teddy pictured below. You can view more pics of the Red Carpet event at The Butterfly Studio at Facebook. Pure Derek Hough has even more coverage of the event as well as some other fun goodies on Ricki and Derek. So, be sure to check it out.
The Dancing With The Stars Makeup Team has released a new album of the dancers behind the scenes preparing for the show, just posing, or goofing around. Below are a couple of beautiful takes of the troupe members (Teddy, Sasha, Kiki, Shawna, and Dasha) , Peta and Tristan, and Hope. To see the full album and your favorite dancers, be sure to visit their facebook page.
Just a couple of things capturing our attention. First of all, Special Thanks to Heidi and the winner at Pure Derek Hough, Derek has a new team t-shirt to wear for rehearsals. Hey, a hot guy with a hot car needs a hot shirt!! More from where that came from at Heidi’s.Secondly, do you not love it when the couples ‘genuinely’ thank their fans for voting for them? Some go an extra mile to do it at twitter, facebook, etc. Here is what Tristan and Nancy did in thanking their fans.
Lastly, below are some hot new pictures of the Troupe from Sharna Burgess’ Facebook. What a powerhouse they were Tuesday night!! I’m loving them all!! I can’t decide who is my favorite? How about you?
Adding: Below is Harry Connick Jr. with who his pick to win the show….
Ok, that is all! 😉
Friday night, Derek Hough and Cheryl Burke hosted a Dancing With The Stars Pre-Emmy Party at the Trousdale Lounge in West Hollywood. Rob Kardashian, Peta Murgatroyd, Teddy Volynets, Tony Dovolani, Val Chmerkovskiy, Kym Johnson, and David Arquette were some of their guests pictured. Above is a fun group shot of them. You can view more at Pure Derek Hough and Life Style Magazine.
Henry from PopTVDotCom was also there to get some coverage. Check how he gives them a shout out. He’s also able to get a few little interviews out of them as well on the show.
Things are really getting exciting now, aren’t they?! We’re on the EVE of the LIVE premiere…Monday, ABC, 8:00pm ET. The moment we’ve been waiting for!!
As some of you have posted in the comments sections and in some twitter chat (including @DWTStroupe), Daria Chesnokova and Sasha Farber might be the replacements for Nicole Volynets and Tristan MacManus in the Dancing With The Stars Dance Troupe. Another dancer that might be dancing in the troupe is Sharna Burgess.
Daria, also known as “Dasha”, is Val Chmerkovskiy’s former dance partner from from 2008 until this year. She is also from the Ukraine like Val. The two have won numerous World dance titles together and have helped to teach at the Dance With Me Soho Studios in New York.
Sasha was born in Russia, but, moved to Australia when he was 13 at which he started dancing. By the time Sasha was 17, he had won the Australian Youth Latin Championships twice and represented Australia at the World Latin Championships. He was featured in the closing ceremony at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and has danced several times on Dancing with the Stars in the past. He is most known for his role in the highly successful dance theatre production Burn The Floor. He has been described as an “explosively, energetic dancer”.
Sharna Burgess, like Sasha, is also from Australia where she studied dance. She has also been a dancer in “Burn The Floor”.
If true, I think these dancers would be the perfect replacements even though I don’t understand why they dropped Nicole? She was fantastic as well.
The three new dancers will join Teddy Volynets, Kiki Nyemchek, and Oksana Dmytrenko who were are 2nd year members of the Dancing With The Stars Dance Troupe.
So, today, we’ve got two tweets that make you wonder. First, check out the tweet below from Lizzie Grubman. I know two of her clients are Maks and Chynna Phillips (a rumored celebrity to be on Dancing With The Stars), but, who is the third? Could it be Maks’ brother Val? If any of you know who else the third client might be, be sure to let us know in the comment section.
You know it almost fall when client A, client B, and client C are leaving for #DWTS13! Woo Hoo!!!!!
— Lizzie Grubman (@LizzieGrubman) August 23, 2011
Also, Maks teases us again with this tweet about something being “so different”.
LA – bound! More of the same….only this time it'll be sooo different 😉 Super excited for the next three months!! #nextchapter
— Maksim Chmerkovskiy (@MaksimC) August 23, 2011
*SIGH* Are you dying here like I am? 😯 LOL
Heidi’s Note: The Maks fans say that Maks, Teddy and Val are all on their way to NYC, so it’s very possible that those three are all clients of Lizzie’s. As for what Maks is going to find “sooo different” – it could be that Val will be a pro, but look at his hashtag. Next chapter?? What, did they promote him to producer? 😀 Or is it a next chapter for VAL? And, as Evaine commented on Twitter – since when is Maks the blabby one?
Hey, thanks Everyone for your participation in the “Rate Your Favorite Female Pros” post. It appears Kym and Anna were the most popular with our readers. So now, how about the male pros? How do you rank them at this time from your favorite to least favorite?
Mine goes as follows:
Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Derek Hough: Seriously, I go back and forth on these two and can never decide who is my absolute favorite? I love them both so much. Derek is our modern day Fred Astaire. He has a fascinating Fox totem who magically connects and blends into each of his partners. His creativity, choreography, and good looks are one thing…but, then there is the “character” he gets into every time he steps out there. I so LOVE LOVE his dramatic facial expressions as well. Such a class act, humble, and can rise above most anything. He’s beyond amazing. In fact, legendary!!
Then there is Maks in all of his bad boy charm. You just can’t help to love him. Yes, he’s made some mistakes along the way, but, he is a constant learning process and always striving to be a better person. I love his mysteriousness, edginess, strength, power, and how romantic he is on the dance floor. He’s got the “X factor” in spades. It’s unexplainable, but, he leaves you always wanting more on the dance floor and in life in general.
Damian Whitewood: This guy is so sadly under-rated and forgotten about with producers when he is serious fan favorite. Look at the mark he left with just one season and how we’re still talking about it and him. He’s full of compassion like his girlfriend Peta. He soaks up the camera and stage just like her. If producers read this, PLEASE BRING ON DAMIAN THIS SEASON!!
Val Chmerkovskiy: Every time this guy has danced on the show in pro numbers, he leaves me wanting more just like his brother Maks. He’s a powerhouse out there and he plays the violin in the same way!!
Tristan MacManus And Teddy Volynets: I love these two newcomers. They are fun to watch in the troupe and always leave me wanting more as well. Both cute, refreshing, compassionate, and romantic. Teddy V’s personality is just waiting to bust out. I really hope we get to see it happen one day.
Tony Dovolani: This guy is so full of heart. I’ve always enjoyed his dancing. He gets the most awful partners though sometimes which is sad.
Alec Mazzo: I loved Alec and his dancing. Such a romantic dancer….especially with Edyta!
Jonathan Roberts: Like Tony, Jonathan is so full of heart. I always enjoyed his dancing too….especially in the pro numbers with Anna! He’s unforgettable!
Dmitry Chaplin: I haven’t always been a big fan to Dmitry, but, I really liked him last year with Petra!!
Louis Van Amstel: I like Louis and I like him on the show, but, there have been times I didn’t too. His best season has been with Kelly Osbourne. That’s when I liked Louis the most.
Corky Ballas: I favor and respect Corky as a “teacher” to some of the above pros more than anything. I’ve also enjoyed his dancing in some of the pro numbers. But, I really haven’t liked him paired with a celebrity…although sometimes it’s probably necessary with older celebrities.
Mark Ballas: What can I say? Mark has seriously gotten on my nerves these last few seasons. Although he can have heart, he also has an egotistical side that dominates his role on the show and the dance floor. He has also copied a lot of choreography from Derek for his dances and yet, tries to take the credit. Sometimes he’s too ‘in your face’ much like Lacey is. The one thing I do like though is his futuristic mind much like in a Lady Gaga kind of way. Now, if he could just learn when to bring it on and when not to is the question?
Ok, YOUR TURN!! We look forward to your replies as always! 😉
DWTS 12 – Maksim Chmerkovkiy & Kirstie Alley Dance Again At The “All The Right Moves Summer Invitational”
What a night it was for Dance With Me Studios in New York City for the “All The Right Moves Summer Invitational”. According to Maks and Kirstie’s twitter accounts, great fun was had by all and it was a huge success. So successful, Maks is now hinting of a dancing tour in the future. Wouldn’t that be cool? I’d pay whatever they want for front row seats.
On a plane…..AGAIN! Miss my DanceWithMe family already! Ridiculously proud of everyone for last night! Next stop — 'Dance With Me TOUR'!
— Maksim Chmerkovskiy (@MaksimC) June 6, 2011
ET On-line was also there to cover lastnight’s event. Below Maks explains his dance studios and how there are plans to open them up all across the country. It’s important to get everyone ‘shaking and moving’ and dancing is good for the “health and the soul and everything in between”. Kirstie speaks about dancing as well. They performed an encore (without rehearsing) of their high-scoring Cha-Cha from Dancing With The Stars to Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You.”
Thanks to Pure DWTS reader mzetting, here is Maks and Kirstie’s performance in full. The two are so cute as always! Their chemistry is out of this world. Look at Maks’ smile!;
Below is an interview with Tony from Extra. Not only do they talk about the show last night, Kirstie speaks of her upcoming TV Show and a new movie “Syrup” with Robert Dinero. Maks comments he will never do The Bachelor again.
The opening picture is from the Daily Mail (Yes, this news even hit the UK! And WOW to Kirstie! Doesn’t she look fantastic?!). More Red Carpet pictures of Maks, Kirstie, Tony Dovolani (Maks’ partner in the Dance with Me Studios chain), Val Chmerkovskiy, Daria Chesnokova, Nicole and Teddy Volynets >>>>HERE.
