It seems every season, a Bachelor wants to dance or is rumored to dance. I say “no” to the idea again. What do you think? Thanks to Vin for this heads up from E News…
While the season is just getting started on ABC, Chris (aka Prince Farming!) tells E! News he’s definitely open to doing more reality TV after his run on The Bachelor comes to an end. Specifically Dancing With the Stars!
“At this point, why not?” Chris says. “I went through The Bachelorette and never thought I’d do that and did it and it was a great experience. Now being the Bachelor, it’s been an extraordinary experience.”
He continues. “I’m open to a lot of opportunities, I’d be willing to consider these sort of things. But I’m going to do what’s best for me and do what’s right and what I feel is right for my future.”
But Chris is a little nervous about one aspect of joining DWTS, telling us, “I think I need to do some yoga because watching those people and some of the stuff they do…I’m not a very flexible guy, so I am going to need to get limbered up if that’s going to happen!”
Reality Steve revealed in his weekly video blog chat thing that Juan Pablo will not be on Dancing With the Stars next season, despite his declaration to Mario Lopez the week of his premiere, “I like dancing a lot.” With such a strong expression of emotions, we’re surprised ABC didn’t scoop him right up then and there to shake his bon-bon (Ricky Martin!) on TV. Except that we’re not at all surprised. See, his homophobic comments, saying that it wouldn’t be good for children to watch a gay Bachelor because they are “more pervert,” happened.
And according to Reality Steve, that was enough not only for the network to ask Juan Pablo not to attend Sean and Catherine’s wedding, but also to nix him from consideration for DWTS.
Extra is reporting The Bachelor’s Juan Pablo would do Dancing With The Stars. Below is what happened in a new interview with Mario Lopez….
The Bachelor” star Juan Pablo Galavis joined “Extra’s” Mario Lopez at Universal Studios Hollywood as our special co-host, dishing about Season 18 and revealing the other completion reality shows he would do.
Juan Pablo Would Do ‘Dancing With the Stars’: ‘I Like Dancing a Lot’
The Latin hunk said he would be interested in doing “Dancing with the Stars,” telling Mario, “We’ll see man. I like dancing a lot.”
Below is something interesting Codebear2 sent us a few days ago too which raised his eyebrows….
So it’s time once again for me to gaze into my crystal ball before the premiere and try to take a wild (but educated) guess at how things are gonna pan out this season – who’s gonna be good, who’s gonna be bad, who’s gonna stick around, and who might get sent packing early. Admittedly, this kind of snuck up on me – after my prolonged hiatus after season 15, season 16 seems to have arrived at breakneck speed and I’m just struggling to keep up. Guess that’s what happens when one bad season turns you off of a show completely…don’t know that I’ve been this dubious about a new season of my favorite show since season 5 of Nip/Tuck
For those just tuning in, a few words of explanation about how I arrive at these rankings. It’s a combination of factors – how good (or bad) of a dancer I think they’ll be, how much of a fanbase I think they do or don’t have, how likeable/unlikeable I think they’ll be to viewers. So all those factors considered – this is how I predict the eliminations to shake out. And they can (and usually do) change after seeing the first episode So in today’s edition, I tackle the bottom half of the couples: the ones I don’t see lasting past the middle of the competition. Here we go…
12.) Lisa & Gleb – It pains me to say this, considering that they’re my favorite couple, but I’m afraid my favorite Real Housewife of Beverly Hills may be the first on the chopping block this season There seems to be several factors working against them – and the one that concerns me the most is the fact that Lisa’s a reality star, and she’s a Real Housewife at that. Considering that TPTB have avoided casting from that franchise like the plague until now, and that the Housewives seem to be some of the more maligned reality tv stars amongst DWTS fans (some DWTS fans reeeeeallllly don’t like Housewives – trust me, I’ve gotten tweets complaining, as if I have any control over casting!), I’m worried that some viewers have already written her off, sight unseen. Then again, I could be completely wrong – since we have no precedent for a Real Housewife on DWTS, how do I know that RHOBH fans won’t tune in and vote in droves for our British lass? They’re also contending with the fact that Gleb is a brand new pro without much of a fanbase (and without the benefit of being visible to the DWTS viewers already, a la Sharna in the troupe or Lindsay on SYTYCD) – although I daresay Gleb’s stunning good looks certainly don’t seem to be hurting them Besides those two hurdles, I also worry that they’re just too laid back – their rehearsals are neither memorably good nor memorably bad, which could make them blend into the woodwork amongst some of the bigger personalities this season. And we don’t really have any idea what Lisa’s dancing prowess is like, nor do we know what Gleb’s teaching/choreographing prowess is like – they could be really good, they could be really bad, they could just “be”. I’m hoping that we’re in for a pleasant surprise with these two, but my gut’s telling me that they’re probably not going to make it past the first few weeks of the season. Read more..
Ya’ll (yes, just watched Kellie) are going to have to put up with me occasionally today as I believe Vogue might still be having computer issues. Or internet issue. The end result is the same. I apologize that I do not have time to watch and comment on all the videos, so I won’t add any commentary and I’ll leave that to you all in the comments. I did watch Kellie and am suitably impressed. All the videos can be found at DWTS You Tube Channel.
In what was a surprise to exactly NO ONE, Sean was on GMA this morning with his :::cough:::temporary:::cough::: fiance and announced that he and Peta will be the 12th couple on DWTS.
They even had Peta on the show. Peta said they’d been keeping it a secret for a long time – I take that to mean that they’ve been training although they kinda claim that they haven’t been doing any training thus far.
ETA: Yes, they are very ambiguous on his status – I think he’s been training elsewhere, but they may try to make it look like he just started – much the way GMA tried. But the way everything was phrased, I got the impression he had been training. It was a very short segment – I think because the segment with Valerie Harper went longer.
Sean’s in these two videos – thanks to @Taryn_Wilke!!
UPDATE: This is Vogue and here is a video from GMA today….
Hey Guys!!! Dance Junkies TV will be interviewing pro Louis Van Amstel tomorrow night (Tuesday). Stuart Brazell has written us asking you to submit your questions in comments and she will try to get as many questions answered as they can. It’s going to be a fun interview too as he is suppose to preview Dancing With The Stars Season 16. So ask away for anything you want. I’ll leave my questions in comments too.
Thanks Everyone!!! One more week and counting!

Hey, just some media alerts!!! Be watching GMA every day next week. Each day a celebrity is suppose to be interviewed about Dancing With The Stars counting down to the show’s two-hour season premiere on March 18th.
Also, one of our readers named Angela is reporting that she saw a video posted last night at “The Bachelor” Facebook page with Sean Lowe and a “behind the scenes” look of the Dancing With The Stars title shoot. In the video, Sean commented about “how he was excited and has his work cut out for him”. Then 5 minutes later, Angela went to refresh the page and the video had been deleted and replaced with a sneak peek of the finale of The Bachelor. Angela says the video with Sean was about 4 minutes long and showed parts with Pitbull. All the pros and stars were also talking.
Anyway, we aren’t sure what to think at this time, but, add this info to the heavily rumored 12th contestant announcement. Also note that Tuesday morning Sean Lowe is scheduled to make a guest appearance on GMA. Most likely he will be interviewed about the “The Bachelor” finale, but, it could have something to do with Dancing With The Stars as well? He also has a teleconference planned for Tuesday. So, stay tuned.
ADDING: Codebear2 dmed us at twitter (and I think Court mentioned this too in one of her comments) that they could also announce that Sean Lowe is dancing on Dancing With The Stars on Monday night during The Bachelor – After The Final Rose. This would also make the best sense if they want to pull in fans of The Bachelor.
You guys were probably just as shocked as I was to hear this morning that we were only going to have 11 couples on this season…after hearing 12 couples for quite awhile. Also shocking to not hear Sean Lowe’s name called as one of the celebs, as he was a name we were hearing quite a bit, and shocking to not hear Peta’s name as a pro, considering that she had been confirmed by @DWTSGossip as being part of this season…and DWTSGossip seemed just as shocked as we were.
So what happened? We’re not sure – some are guessing that the deal fell through at the last minute, others are surmising that Sean IS part of the cast, but they are going to wait to reveal him until after The Bachelor finale. In the absence of anything official, we can only speculate. Reality Steve, who has a pretty damn good track record of predicting Bachelor-related stuff, assures us that Sean IS part of the cast:
ETA1: Reality Steve goes into more detail in his most recentBachelor blog – and I daresay, someone with a spoiler history as credible as his would not just be making claims like this willy-nilly. I’m starting to believe that we may get a “surprise” 12th couple sometime in the next few weeks…
ETA2: In herOTRC interview, Lisa comments on how it’s “an honor to be one of the 12 chosen” to be on the show. There were only 11 celebs announced this morning Thanks to Grant for the heads-up on this one!
ETA3:Peta tweetsthat she has a “big day today!” and that it’s “time to play” – which makes me wonder if she’s either a) meeting Sean for the first time, or b) starting to rehearse with Sean. And OMG! Insider (totally dumb name for a show, BTW) jumps on the “mystery 12th contestant” bandwagonin a video that Vogue just posted. Now I’m really starting to believe that Sean’s the 12th contestant, and that ABC maybe just can’t mention it outright for contractual reasons…but they are hinting at it in a not-so-subtle way.
ETA4: @KrissmissHampton was in the live audience at the announcement yesterday and was kind enough to tweet me and tell me that, after the cameras stopped rolling, they were told that “a 12th couple would be announced at a later date”. Thanks Kristina! I’m wondering if they were initially going to announce it on the air, but ran out of time…things seemed to get a little rushed at the end. Heidi also dug up some more evidence confirming the “12th couple” theory, courtesy of US Magazine. So there is, indeed, a 12th couple – but is it safe to assume that it’s Sean & Peta?
I’m inclined to believe Reality Steve, but at the same time, if ABC had a 12th couple up their sleeve, I would think they would at least tease it during the announcement this morning: “Stay tuned in the coming days, because there is still a surprise 12th couple, yet to be revealed!” Peta has not said a word on Twitter this morning, nor has Sean (although I doubt he would), and neither one is following each other – could be a precaution so as not to reveal anything, could be that they really aren’t on the show. What do you guys think?
In the meantime, we will keep our eyes peeled and update this post with anything official we hear. Random…anyone else think Sean kinda looks like Macklemore?
According to a report in “US Weekly” that hit stands today, “a deal hasn’t been finalized, but it’s likely” that Sean will be announced as an official cast member on February 26th, when “Good Morning America” makes the announcement. Well, they certainly aren’t casting both of them, and Sean is the “hotter” name right now because his season ends a week before the DWTS premiere, so I definitely think there’s validity to this story.
Click on the link to read the rest of what Reality Steve has to say on the matter. When he says “both of them” he’s referring to Emily – and he makes a good point. For those that don’t know, Steve is one guy who always knows what’s going to happen on The Bachelor and spoils it often before the season starts. Hell, he’s the only reason why I watch the show. He says he thinks it has validity – and I agree, it certainly could. I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but I’m calling this one number 2 on the official “rumor” list.
