Isn’t this instagram of Witney Carson breathtaking? At instagram, she posted that she is “channeling” her “inner Marilyn Monroe for @dancingabc Mondays opening!” Are we excited much yet for this show? Too fun!
The pros have been posting Instagrams and twitter pics of rehearsals for something special Monday night for Dancing With The Stars. What’s more, it looks like Josh Gad And Kevin Hart are taking part in this performance as well. Russell Wilson is also pictured. Is he part of the performance? Stay tuned. This is going to be fun….
And here are more pics… Read more..
Well, the odds makers for Dancing With The Stars were definitely wrong last week at Sports Bovada. Though I think many us never guessed that Tavis Smiley would be eliminated this week. So, what does this all mean for Dancing With The Stars Season 19 Week 3? Note how Lea has moved up the ladder to second place with 11/4 odds. I’m still not really convinced on her yet and that she will make it to the final four? As tight as the odds are, I wonder why Sadie and Bethany aren’t placed higher too? I think they are better than Janel. I think I agree with how the other couples are placed and their odds. Let’s see what Heidi and Court think? You can read their comments below. Be sure to let us know what you think too in comments.
Alfonso Ribeiro 5/2
Lea Thompson 11/4
Janel Parrish 3/1
Bethany Mota 5/1
Sadie Robertson 7/1
Antonio Sabato Jr. 20/1
Jonathan Bennett 20/1
Randy Couture 33/1
Tommy Chong 50/1
Betsey Johnson 100/1
Michael Waltrip 200/1
Last week’s Odds:
Alfonso Ribeiro 3/2
Sadie Robertson 3/1
Bethany Mota 7/1
Lea Thompson 15/2
Janel Parrish 8/1
Jonathan Bennett 10/1
Randy Couture 15/1
Tavis Smiley 15/1
Antonio Sabato Jr. 25/1
Tommy Chong 33/1
Betsey Johnson 100/1
Michael Waltrip 100/1
Courtney: I’m convinced now more than ever that Janel could be a surprise snub for the finale – starting to get the same vibe from her that I got from both Elizabeth & Danica, and we saw what happened in both of those instances. So I’m definitely not buying 3/1 odds for her to win. Bethany & Sadie are a bit trickier – I think both are likely just as popular (if not more so than Janel), but neither one has had a really impactful, look-at-me dance yet. From what we’ve heard, this week could be the week that Bethany finally makes a big splash (no pun intended, given their song :-P). Apparently Sadie is looking quite good as well – Janel’s got a tougher row to hoe this week, I think, because she’s now pitted against Bethany, who is also doing jazz. And I get the feeling Sadie fans are a bit peeved at how she was treated this past week…so it will be interesting to see who ends up in jeopardy this coming week. As for the bottom & middle of the pack – still think Randy’s getting lowballed a bit, and I’m thinking Jonathan isn’t as good as they think – after this past week, I think he may have a bit of a liability in Allison, who is still learning the ropes of DWTS. Not quite sure what to make of Antonio – he was more likeable this week, but I still feel like I keep forgetting him altogether.
Heidi: It’s pretty clear, once again, that the odds makers are going mainly with the scoring, which is rather foolish. With the exception of Alfonso, of course. I think most people see the word “winner” written on his forehead at this point. As for Janel, not only does she have the Danica/Elizabeth problem that Courtney mentioned, she also has the Cody/James problem. That being, I don’t think the show can sustain her AND Bethany AND Sadie – and my money is on Bethany and Sadie. People tend to pick ONE of a certain type, so either Bethany or Sadie could be in trouble once Janel is gone (week 7 or 8 – let’s bet on that), but this season it might work out that they both make the semi-finals, at least, because the rest of the pack aren’t as competitive when it comes to dancing. At least right now. Much as people like to say otherwise, scores DO count for half and if Bethany, Sadie and Alfonso are scoring significantly higher than the rest, then they could stick around. Randy, Jonathan and Antonio are the wild cards in this situation. If their dancing improves, then one of them could send either Bethany or Sadie home after Janel. Question is, can the show sustain both Randy AND Antonio??
Now that we’ve had a few weeks of seeing the couples interact and dance on Dancing With The Stars Season 19, who are your Top 5 favorite couples currently going into Week 3? Furthermore, rank them in order. You can also name one “Runner Up” if you are having a hard time deciding (like myself. ). Meet you in comments!
We posted on some of the other dances this week on Dancing With The Stars in appreciating them, but, what about Monday night’s opening number? Seeing the judges dance was so cool. Carrie Ann looked hot out there (and check out those heels! ). And how about the Karina Smirnoff lift by Tony?

The new ABC Dancing With The Stars press release was posted last night as well. You can read on some show details for next week at this link. Forewarning: there isn’t much they are revealing this time.
Did you get to see Julianne Hough on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE last night? Here she is in a silly skit.
Good Day LA interviewed Michael Waltrip about his time on Dancing With The Stars. Learning to dance has been challenging, but, he’s having so much fun. He has the reporters all up and dancing by the end of the interview. Look at those hips roll again. He’s a hoot. Read more..
Once again, I’m posting it without having a chance to watch the whole thing. I love Keo. That is all. I’ll add my comments in the comments when I do see the whole thing. My one gripe is that they mention Lea’s training – but don’t acknowledge Janel’s. Janel has training in Jazz, Hip Hop, Broadway and other styles of dance and it’s much more recent than Lea’s.
Without further ado, below is Lois with some fun new poems for Dancing With The Stars Season 19 Week 2…
A JUMPIN’, JIVIN’, JAMMIN’ MONDAY NIGHT

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba has also posted a new blog at Parade. First, she apologizes for not including Derek and Bethany last week in her blog. She says, “Bethany is someone to watch. Not only because she has Derek Hough as her partner who we all know is an incredibly talented choreographer who pushes creates incredible performances for his partner, but also because she has an inner strength and determination mixed with what is becoming a fluid and rich movement style. I say determination because she is a pioneer in her world of YouTube and she is someone who had a dream and found a way.” She also posts on the three staandout performances of week 2. Carrie Ann also lost her older cat, Taz, this past week (I loved the cat!). More at Parade including pictures and fashion credits..
Lastly, George Pennacchio has been loading up more interviews at ABC7. He asked them about next weeks dances and more. Here are a few of them….
This week, as people who are site members might be aware, we have a lot of info, but a lot of it isn’t really clear yet. It’s still a work in progress. Here’s the parts we’re fairly sure of:
ETA: I totally called this one on Twitter yesterday – Singing in the Rain by Derek Hough? Perfect. Now is it that actual song? I’m assuming yes.
ETA2: The subtle-as-a-sledgehammer hints continue at
the DancingABC Instagram Mike’s Twitter, as he pretty much confirms he’s gonna be Robin Hood.
ETA3: So, Len said during this past Monday’s show that Alfonso was doing V.Waltz, but his wife says he’s doing quickstep.
ETA4: We’re kinda doubting that Alfonso’s wife is right…
ETA5: …and I’m sure you can see why now No clue what the hell he & Witney are gonna do to this song…I’ve listened to it at least 10 times, and cannot find any strong semblance of a foxtrot or quickstep rhythm. It’s a tad fast for a foxtrot, but not even enough for quickstep…who knows. But I’m sure whatever it is – Alfonso’s gonna put on a helluva show Looks like Jonathan’s Mean Girls song didn’t clear so he ended up with his 2nd choice. I have to wonder if they’re bending the rules a bit and going with the Amy Winehouse version, though, as the Beyonce version is rather slow. Looks like “Pour Some Sugar on Me” was a safety song – but part of me kinda wants to see the pros dance to it instead And a different source confirmed that Bethany & Derek’s dance style is jazz – with quite a bit of tap influence -Court-
ETA6: ZOMG PLOT TWIST LOLZ!!!! Apparently “I Feel Pretty” is now off the table – and Vajanel has been seen rehearsing to “America” instead. Wondering if Val may have jumped the gun on confirming they had cleared “I Feel Pretty” – either that, or “I Feel Pretty” wasn’t working out, and they asked to switch songs (after switching dances already, mind you). Food for thought – draw your own conclusions. Confirmed Betsey & Alfonso’s dances – Tony is apparently doing some gorgeous lifts with Betsey, so they do, indeed, have contemporary; and Alfonso’s old lady was right – he is doing quickstep. How? I’m not sure…but I’m certainly intrigued.
ETA7: We have a more detailed explanation of what went down with West Side Story-gate – wanna hear it? Looka hurr.
ETA8: We can always rely on Cheryl to share her dance order…see below.
ETA9: Vogue here and scroll below to see a new “Movie Night” commercial. Here’s to tonight!
ETA10: Probably the last update before showtime – and before Heidi’s discussion post goes live in less than 10 minutes (complete with spoilers about next week’s show!) Apparently Randy & Karina are opening the show – AGAIN – and Betsey & Tony might be going 3rd…they said they are on Instagram, but Michael’s racing team also tweeted that he’s going 3rd. So….who knows. Enjoy the show, kids
Randy and Karina – Paso Doble (song: “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor, from Rocky III)
Jonathan and Allison – Tango (song: “Back to Black” by Beyonce & Andre 3000, from The Great Gatsby)
Betsey and Tony – Contemporary (song: “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers, from Ghost)
