Dancing with the Stars Week 9 Music
We’re down to the final 4 dancers and the beauty of it is that I like them all. That’s always a good thing. Plus, I love this episode, because you get to see pretty much all of the dances in one night. As they say, variety is the spice of life. Although, were there really two Prince songs tonight? Indeed, it seems there were.
As always, here’s a link to the lists of DWTS music from previous episodes.
Erin & Maksim danced a Viennese Waltz to the song “February Song” —Josh Groban
Erin & Maksim danced a Paso Doble to the song “U Got the Look” —Prince
Nicole & Derek danced a Argentine Tango to the song “El Capitalismo Foráneo” – The Gotan Project
Nicole & Derek danced a Cha-Cha-Cha to the song “Kiss” —Prince
Chad & Cheryl danced a Waltz to the song “If You Don’t Know Me by Now” —Simply Red
Chad & Cheryl danced a Samba to the song “Alejandro” —Lady Gaga
Evan & Anna danced a Foxtrot to the song “I’ve Got the World on a String” —Frank Sinatra
Evan & Anna danced a Paso Doble to the song “Bring Me to Life” —Evanescence
I think that professional singers/actors who say that they do not have any dancing experience should not participate i.e. Nicole who does dance while singing.
I can understand your feeling. Although, I love seeing them dance too. So, I’m good with it for the most part. It’s not like they say the competition is fair. Plus, at the end of the day it’s a popularity contest more than a dance contest. I guess we shouldn’t let more popular stars in then either.
Hmm…this could make a good post.
If you don’t know me by now is by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Simple Red covered the song years later.
Hello D – Although you are right in that “If You Don’t Know Me By Now” was originally done by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and later covered by Simply Red, when you listen to the two versions and compare it to what Chad & Cheryl danced to it is rather clear DWTS’s version is much closer to Simply Red than Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes.
If you go to abc.com/dancing and go through the episode guide, it is even mentioned there that the Waltz is the Simply Red version.
Thank you for pointing out the original artist to perform the song though.
