Dancing with the Stars Season 11, Week 1 – Ratings Win!

DWTS was the top three shows for last week! Apparently, the premiere is up 20-some percent from last fall’s premiere, but down from the spring premiere – this is from a source that I saw earlier in the week and, of course, can’t find again. You’ll have to take my word for that part. All in all, 21 million viewers is pretty damn good. 🙂

From Inside Blip:

CBS earned a 7.8 rating/13 share average in overnight of Fast National ratings from The Nielsen Co. this week in non-news, non-event programming. Although ABC had three of the week’s highest-rated shows — all coming as segments of “Dancing With the Stars,” its 7.4/12 finish just wasn’t enough to overcome CBS’ dominance.

ABC averaged an 11.0/17 with its top five shows compared to a 9.7/15 from CBS. But it was the bottom five that was a killer for ABC. New shows “My Generation” and “The Whole Truth” flopped for the Disney-owned channel while CBS stayed above a 4.0 household rating overall — “Medium” was its lowest rated program this week. ABC’s bottom five averaged a 4.4/7 compared to the 5.6/10 from CBS, creating the difference between the two.
