Though Jennifer Grey remains the -200 favorite to win Season 11 of Dancing With The Stars, Bristol Palin’s odds of winning the final have been slashed to even, meaning that a $10 bet would pay out $10 profit. Kyle Massey would pay $40 for every $10 bet with a victory.
There has been much talk about Bristol, the daughter of 2008 Vice Presidential GOP running mate Sarah Palin, making it this deep into the competition when she routinely placed among the bottom three by judges. Viewer phone call voting accounts for 50 percent of the results. Theories include everything from young teen girls voting for Bristol en mass to a Tea Party uprising.
Some have gone as far as to say that, if Bristol Palin wins this installment of Dancing With The Stars, the show will be ruined.
“It’s not as if she is a bad dancer,” says Payton O’Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website, which has watched the odds for Bristol shorten from around 45/1 to even. “She has dramatically improved week after week. But is she in the same league as Jennifer Grey? No. But she has not beaten Grey yet either.”
Patrik Jonnson of the Christian Science Monitor perhaps offered the best observation yet:
Bristol Palin and and her mother, Sarah Palin, both have weaknesses as candidates. On “Dancing With the Stars,” Bristol has repeatedly received the lowest scores from the judges. In public-opinion polls, about two-thirds of Americans say Sarah is unqualified to be president.
Yet here they are, Bristol and her warm, slightly baffled grin now in the final of “DWTS” – a feat so incomprehensible to some that they see foul play at work. And Sarah is drawing record audiences to “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” to watch her shoot skeet with a smile, even as she sends tremors through the blogosphere by simply asserting that she could beat President Obama in 2012.

The Las Vegas odds always interest me. Not surprised to see Jen as the fav. to win but there is definately a chance for Kyle to win it. If he gets 29s and 30s, he really could win it. The instant dance is just to ensure Britol doesn’t win so she probably is going to place third.
Also, my gf told me that the redempption dances are paso for Jen, JIVE for Bristol, and foxtrot for Kyle. Based on Bristol’s previous jive, this should be interesting.
Right now, at this moment Vin, what worries me is that Kyle seems to be getting lost in the Bristol v. Jennifer brouhaha. Nothing I have seen really talks much about him. I got the same feeling when it was Audrina and Brandy who went home.
He does seem to get lost due to Bristol’s drama and comeback kid stuff but i really hope she doesn’t win. Don’t get me wrong, she has come so far from week one and seems to be more confident andher footwork is really good but selling the dance really isn’t her thing. Kyle is the best showman the show has had since Donny Osmond and I think that alone will get him second place (hopefully). I am just glad that all the Brandy and Maks stuff has died down (at lesast until they have to preform/dance again on the second part of the finale).

This season’s finale of DWTS is this tuesday with all eliminated couples returning to the dance floor. Margaret and I will dance our samba to “Copacabana” again and will be joined by Florence, Corky,Damian and Dimitri. It’s a fun number, celebrating a very unpredictable season to say the least. This season has had some shocking eliminations to the point of ultimate dissappointment, where a fan (or should i say former fan…lol) of the show got so angry he blew up his television with a gun! Wow, i hope for him it was an old television.
Heidi I don’t fell this about Kyle… and think he will do a very good and traditional foxtrot and a good and exciting freestyle (hope lacey doesn’t do the same thing she did to Lance’s one).
So I’m guessing he can even get the top score on 1st night (or be side-by-side with Jen). Really. (but sometimes I think Jen can get 120/120 during the 2 nights…)
So, I do hope he gets 2nd and Jen 1st place on this show. Even knowing that Bristol get more buzz…

I don’t think Bristol will win but she definitely has improved on her dancing. Obviously stars who have had some background in dance are at an advantage. All this hate towards Bristol just amazes me. The show is about the judges and people voting at home. If you want someone to win, then vote. I respect and admire her determination and her improvement in her dancing over these past weeks and doing all this through all the controversy is admirable. Shame on people who hate without really knowing the person and who hate because of politics, obviously there are ignorant people on both sides. Let’s not judge someone without knowing them and because they are liked by people you may not agree with.
I’d still like someone to show me the “hate” on this site towards Bristol – no one seems able to do that and I’m really not interested in what’s going on out there. I nearly deleted my twitter searches after all. Saying that Bristol is not a good dancer and doesn’t belong in the final doesn’t exactly qualify, unless you’re 12 (sorry Lola).
Why Bristol was even on the show in the first place is a question mark, but how she even got this far is incredible! Brandi never should have been voted off! Kyle Massey “DESERVES” to win and Bristol and Jennifer KNOW IT!!
