Pure DWTS – Maksim Chmerkovskiy In Two New “The Bachelor” Ukraine Previews
It’s hard to make out the dialogue in these two new previews of “The Bachelor” in the Ukraine, but, they are fun to watch nevertheless. The contestants are so beautiful and so, is the set and scenery….and Maks too. 🙂
*sigh* Oh Maks. *shakes head*
No wonder they have a psychologist on staff on that show! I’m all for entertainment but it’s a bit weird to have an entire promo of people crying.
Reality TV=modern equivalent of Actor’s Studio. Impressed with the production quality of the show—and the ladies!
Poor Maks! You can loosely translate – very stressful!
Looks just as bad as the US version, except they have Maks. I don’t for one minute believe this is “reality” for anyone. However, for the contestants who get confused and think it IS reality; like Jay said….they have a psychologist on staff. Good to see Maks, though.
I can’t help but laugh at this when I see it, yet I’m intrigued, help me to understand!-LOL He’s very handsome but it just seems to fake!
I read an article from People where Maks said something to the effect of “if I had known what I know now, I wouldn’t have done the show.” In some of the clips, that “what did I get myself into” look is all over his face (poor guy). Also, what’s with that scary chick who looks like a dude?? How the hell did she get through casting????
Oh my Maks! This is just as bad as the US Version. I wonder if he chose someone.
AHHH MAKS WHO DO U REALLY WANT? IS IT BRANDY? WE ALL KNOW THAT WOULD TOTAL BOTH OF YOUR CAREERS IN THIS PREDJUDICE WORLD DON’T WE?
Huh Stacey? I’m not sure what to think of your posts sometimes?
HUH VOGUERISTA DID U HAPPEN 2 NOTICE THAT SINCE MAKS CAME BACK TO LA BRANDY IS WEARING WHAT LOOKS LIKE A WEDDING RING OF BLACK AND WHITE DIAMONDS. TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS POST. CHECK OUT HOW HE IS HUGGING AND KISSING HER ON HIS FIRST NIGHT BACK WITH HER.
Why the big text? Just wondering?
As for Maks and Brandy, she could be sporting a ring for many reasons. I wouldn’t put any significance it. As for the kiss and hugs, they were glad to see each other again after a long absense and what’s wrong with kissing and hugging friends? I do it.
I second that Voguerista. Staceyk is apparently one of those who reads too much into innocent friendly interactions.
HI ADRIANA AND VOGUERISTA, LIKE I SAID IF THEY REALLY ARE TOGETHER IN A ROMANCE LIKE MAKS SAID HE THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE, THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY WHO CAN NOT ACCEPT IT. THEY WOULD HAVE TO SAY THEY ARE JUST FRIENDS TO KEEP AWAY ALL THE HATERS. YOU SEE THERE ARE TOO MANY WOMEN OF HIS RACE THAT CAN’T SEEM TO GET HIM. WONDER IF HE CHOSE A GIRL IN RUSSIA, DON’T YOU?
Oh dear. We have a shipper. Do not try to reason with Shippers.
I’M SORRY WHAT IS A SHIPPER? I HOPE IT IS SOMETHING NICE PRINCESS HEIDI.
“Nice” depends on your point of view and how YOU behave, Stacey. Some shippers are just fine and dandy. Others tend to be completely obsessive and irrational, insisting romances or relation”ships” exist where there is no evidence for one. For example, Maks and Brandy – people who want them to be or think they are together are “shippers”. I think it’s clear Maks and Brandy are just friends. There are also a lot of shippers for Derek and Cheryl Cole – unlike Maks and Brandy, Derek and Cheryl are involved, so those shippers don’t have to work to manufacture a relationship. I’ve also seen shippers for Mark and Bristol, and Mark and Sabrina, Derek and Shannon…the list goes on.
“Good” or “Bad” in terms of shippers varies dramatically from person to person. Sometimes it’s harmless fun, then other times it’s just crazy. I personally don’t think adults should be that obsessed with someone else’s relationships, positive or negative. Especially not when you spend all your time fighting with other people over it. I’ve seen it happen.
Oh, and how about you hit “caps lock” and comment like a normal person. All caps implies shouting on the internet and it’s rude.
Someone is a little loopy today. And whats with all the caps?? I feel like im being yelled at. My eyes hurt.
And this kinda confirms that ‘dating’ shows are all pretty much not really about dating and love. Just another TV show. After sitting through that terrible Bachelor to find out contestants, I wonder what REALLY happens behind the scenes
I’m not trying to yell at anyone, and thanks for the explanation. I was just voicing my opinion like you are. I’m not obssesed with anyone. I am a very big fan of Brandy’s and of dwts. Well in any case time will tell if I’m a shipper or not. No more all caps.
I have to agree that most of these dating shows are bogus, but Ali and Roberto are going strong and are planning their wedding for later this year. I figure it’s probably going to be after the season finale of the Bachelorette in August. In fact the Bachelorette series has been more successful overall in terms of marriages than the Bachelor.
This show looks crazy funny though, a lot more exciting than Brad.
This looks terribly cheesy, just like our version. However, as Maks said he hoped that the girls in the Ukraine were a little less aware of how the show works than the US women are so he could get something more genuine out of the experience. Or maybe they all did their research really well 🙂
I actually know one of the former Bachelor contestants who later went on to have her own Bachelorette show and she spoke about how some of it is real, a lot of it is manufactured and produced for the show and it’s usually pretty easy to figure out which is which. She did say that some people that came across as great weren’t, and found the reverse to be true as well. They also have asked them to redo scenes that they liked but weren’t able to get on camera well (these things are all common in most reality shows, so I’m sure I’m not telling you guys something you don’t know) but sometimes the stuff she told me would really astound people if they knew how manipulated the show was. That’s why DWTS, even if it does have some of the aspects that producers control, is the only reality show that I watch anymore. It’s still reality tv and so it comes with some of that, but there’s also a genuine aspect to it that most of the other shows don’t have, at least to me.
Dang, hit enter before I meant to. I was going to comment on another show that a friend was on, Street Smarts (one of those shows where they have really stupid people answering questions). It is sometimes appalling how the people act and how stupid they can be. Yeah – they are actors. She had to audition and was told to show how stupid she could come across (in a funny but believable way). She was also a contestant on Blind Date and it was the same thing (not stupidity though, more like shocking how she would behave on a first date).
Well I think the show needs manipulation because in real life people can be painfully boring. We just are.
DWTS has a lot of scripted stuff especially the crazy behind the scenes rehearsals can be just ridiculous, and people actually base their vote on who cried too much, who was rude and who was not, who is your mother, regardles if you can dance or not. To me that’s more frustrating than watching the Bachelor.
Oh yeah, all that stuff is absolutely scripted. But what is real to me is the emotion that we see in the celeb’s humor, vulnerability, and often times their dedication and genuine joy that they experience. Whereas the Bachelor’s emotions just don’t ring true, and that to me is a much worse crime.
Well said, Figamentation. I couldn’t agree more. There absolutely is a bunch of scripted stuff on DWTS – but there also is a genuine live aspect to the show and we really do get to see a genuine person underneath the spray tan & rhinestones. Don’t always like what I glimpse, and that small window shouldn’t be confused with that person’s entirety, to be certain. I think it’s one of the few – if not only – true live shows on network TV. The Bachelor franchise has none of that, in my opinion. There’s nothing real or genuine about it – unless, of course, you count finding true love and everlasting commitment in marriage in 12 weeks on TV in contrived settings, with your pick of 10 beautiful elligibles, all of whom are “10’s” and live together in friendship for this journey, cheering each other on as you grope and grind in your search of “the one and only”. Puhlease! It’s no wonder these couples don’t have a chance once they get a brief dose of real reality. I wish Ali & Roberto luck, and I’m happy for them if they found the real deal despite everything they had going against them (by that I mean the show). That’s just my opinion and I don’t mean to offend any fans of the show. There’s a lot of crap I watch on TV that many would roll their eyes at, believe me. And I applaud Princess Heidi for taking one for the team by sitting through The Bachelor in order to get that much coveted DWTS new list of stars! You deserve your own MBT for that *g*
Well, Linde, thank you, but I often watch it regardless because I like to see how totally correct the pre-season spoilers are AND because I like having something to snark about. 🙂 Keeps me sharp for DWTS. It’s often shocking how bad the Bachelor is and how many people out there actually believe that it’s true and that people go on looking to find love (and not 15 minutes of fame).
He and Brandy are the best of friends and she adores him, but they are not in a romantic relationship. They do totally trust each other. That said, if they were in a romantic relationship, I think in this day and age, most people would be fine with. People are people, and love is love. Color makes no difference.
And before you say I am living in a fantasy world, I am not. I live in a part of the country where sadly, the KKK is alive and well. I adore Brandy and think she was an absolute lifesaver to Maks and season and he thinks so too. They will be lifelong friends.
Well said Wonton! I think they sill be lifetime friends as well.
